Keeping track of Suspects
Things are obviously moving very fast at the moment, so I thought it might be informative and helpful to the search and to Operation Grange and the PJ if we tried to collate,
with approximate dates, the ever changing list of serious suspects.
Working backwards we have
Some Gypsies - Feb 2014
3 Mark Warner Ocean club employees - late Jan 2014
3 Burglars - late 2013 to mid Jan 2014
2 e-fit men - Oct 2013
1 Dead black man - late 2013
1 Barcelona Beckham-woman
1 Australian millionairess
1 Registered owner of Hellish Lair -
1 Stairwell lurker
1 Smithman - various dates
1 Tannerman - 2007 to 2013
with approximate dates, the ever changing list of serious suspects.

Re: Keeping track of Suspects
I forgot to mention "Steve".
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
19th October 2008,Sunday Express
The programme says the man has a pronounced accent and looks and sounds Middle Eastern, possibly Egyptian, and drives a mid-sized dark silver car with a parking permit or some other identifying sticker inside the windscreen on the driver’s side.
He may have been wearing a blue, button-up shirt and working as a transient labourer close to the apartment in Praia da Luz on the Algarve where Madeleine was staying with her family before vanishing on May 3.
The report given to Portuguese police says the man is known as Steve or Stav and took the child to a summer rental apartment in the nearby village of Lagos.
Is "Steve" a common name in Egypt and the Middle East?
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
The team, clairvoyant Carla Baron, psychic John J Oliver and paranormal investigator Patrick Burns spent a week in Portugal, starting their inquiries at the Ocean club resort where the McCanns had been staying.
Ms Baron said she immediately picked up on the vision of “Steve” or “Stav” stalking the family and photographing Madeleine at the beach before snatching her several days later.
Ms Baron said: “He snapped off a cell phone photo while looking like he was making a call.
“I also see him taking notes on a small notepad as he watched the comings and goings of the McCann family to see what their routine was.”
When he finally pounced at night, while Madeleine’s parents were in a nearby restaurant, Ms Baron and Mr Oliver said the little girl did not even wake up as he crept into the children’s bedroom and picked her up.
Mr Oliver: “He took her to his car. There were people walking who saw him but he just looked as if he was a father carrying a sleeping child and they didn’t take any notice.”
They say the abductor placed Madeleine in the front passenger seat of his dark silver car, which may have had even darker or black trim.
Mr Oliver said he believes that the abductor may have stopped briefly at a deserted farmhouse east of the town before driving to his eventual destination – a furnished room rented out during the summer in nearby Lagos.
Executives at Tru TV, part of media tycoon Ted Turner’s CNN network, which makes the Haunting Evidence programme, passed the apartment address to police but withheld it from transmission.
The psychics say she was murdered there by being smothered by a pillow several days after her abduction because the man feared he would be caught.
Ms Baron believes the man then bundled her into the boot of his car and drove to a remote area, close to a landfill and man-made dam, where he buried her. This location has also been passed to police.

Yeah whatever happened too them. I would have thought tracing a couple who popped in and out of an apartment that had 3 children in it willy nilly would be quite important.
Might as well add the whole of the PDL to the list as well as anything goes at the moment.

The photograph was allegedly taken in Brazil in June 2007, a month after Madeleine, three, was snatched from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on Portugal’s Algarve coast.
The girl is holding the hand of a swarthy foreign-looking man aged about 50 with long dark hair and a beard. He is wearing cut-off jeans and a green T-shirt.
Nearby, another man in checked shorts and a black T-shirt is pulling a red suitcase. There is no sign of a woman and the child looks out of place with the older men.
If the picture is genuine, it would be the biggest breakthrough in the case to date.

On January 20, 2013 the Express' James Murray, published 'Madeleine McCann kidnap photo shock', claiming that “Officers were happy for us to describe the potentially key evidence which shows a healthy fair-haired girl aged three or four in pink trousers, a green top and a blue hat (...) The photograph was allegedly taken in Brazil in June 2007 (...) The man suggests paedophile Raymond Hewlett, who died of throat cancer, aged 64, in Germany in 2010, was involved with others in the abduction (...) We can also reveal the man has been in contact with Isabel Duarte, Kate and Gerry McCann’s civil lawyer in Lisbon (...) The Yard may send the picture to FBI imaging experts in America for an opinion (...) This week the Yard is expected to ask detectives in Brazil to interview the man before considering whether to fly him to London.”

Anyone care to hazard a guess on what suspect/sighting, possibly with E-fit (for authenticity, you'll understand) will be on the front pages for Thursday night (6th Feb) Friday (7th Feb) 'papers'?

The 'tabloids' will have to become 'broadsheets' that day then!
Otherwise they won't have enough space to list all the 'suspects' on their small front pages!

As far as I'm aware, the court session on January 7th which was scheduled to hear closing arguments was postponed at the request of counsel for the McCanns and there's been no notification as to when the trial will resume.jeanmonroe wrote:Anyone care to hazard a guess on what suspect/sighting, possibly with E-fit (for authenticity, you'll understand) will be on the front pages for Thursday night (6th Feb) Friday (7th Feb) 'papers'?

Is that 'waiting' for a major disaster or 'organising' one.... a little bit like the amputee actors play off in Boston, to keep the populace in a state of perpetual fear, or any of the other scams that have given cause to high flying religious politicians to go to war, etc. etc.

August 30, 2011
Prior to the holiday I had reviewed the location and hotel on tripadvisor so had quite high expectations, and to be fair I was not disappointed bar a couple of hiccups. The flight was comfortable enough and we had pre booked seats so that both our teenage children could sit next to a parent. On arrival at the airport our transfer was by mini bus with one other family and took approx 1hr. As we arrived early morning our rooms were not ready and our cases were stored while we explored the resort on foot. Down side to this was that another outfit would have been more suited and as the suncream was still in the cases I suffered a bit of premature sun burn. The resort is close to the beach and full benefit can be made of this as well as the pools and eating establishments connected to the resort itself. The accomodation was totally adequate and we were sited on the ground floor with a balcony and two twin bedrooms with french windows. These french windows had flimsy locks but added security was in the form of broom handles laid in the runners of the door which prevented the doors being opened in excess of 8 inches. This was to be a proven godsend when at 0420hrs on the first night someone attempted to gain entry to the room via the bedroom window where my 12yr old daughter and I were sleeping. This was reported to the reception the following morning ( there was no phone in the apartment ) and despite assurances that it had been reported to the police there was no follow up visit and they did not even query as to the age of the children in the apartment, which is more disappointing taking into consideration the recent history of the resort. After a second night with a carving knife nearby I finally relaxed and accepted it as a probable confused holidaymaker coupled with the theft of my union jack towel off the balcony to add weight to this theory. This aside the location was perfect with much of the traditional Algarve very much evident. The local restaurants were second to none and the fish dishes to die for, and two supermarkets within walking distance to provide for we self caterers stocked local and english products as well as fresh bread, fruit and veg. The Rep provided lots of advise re excursions that she could offer or point in the right direction for.
Yes, I recommend this accommodation.

Perhaps we'll have 'ski man' as a potential person of interest. We've had tractors, cars, taxis, vans and mini buses - these things can't be recycled ad infinitum.canada12 wrote:And with the Winter Olympics coming up this week for a couple of weeks... that might be the news distraction they're waiting for...?
Oops as it's PDL on the Atlantic we haven't had 'surfer man' yet.
