Yes ! I smiled at the word released. It was an interesting piece. There was even a shot through the plastic wind breaker to the tapas bar which makes the view fuzzy.

Simple, no pink buzz words.

I beg to differ, it is the same time of year so very fair! One night, at 9pm, Martin should get a few of the locals and do a re-enactment.

Now, you be Jane. I will be Gerry, you can be Jez......dont all fight now about who will be the abductor.

tomorrow's Mail re- cleaners

Scotland Yard hunt six British cleaners driving a white van in search for missing Maddie
British cleaners and Portuguese manual workers are among new suspects
Many suspects worked at the complex where the three-year-old was staying
Scotland Yard have conducted a review of the Portuguese inquiry
Sources said ‘low-level’ workers have become the focus of interest.
By IAN GALLAGHER AND RUSSELL MYERS
PUBLISHED: 22:02, 18 May 2013 | UPDATED: 22:02, 18 May 2013

British
cleaners and Portuguese manual workers are among new suspects in the
Madeleine McCann investigation, The Mail on Sunday has learned.
Scotland
Yard identified what they describe as ‘people of interest’ during a
review of the Portuguese inquiry into the three-year-old’s disappearance
in May, 2007.
The suspects are thought to number 12 – not 20 as has
been reported – and include a number of British cleaners who were
working near the apartment complex where Madeleine, twin siblings Sean
and Amelie and parents Gerry and Kate were staying.

Sources said
‘low-level’ workers – handymen, cleaners and gardeners – have become the
focus of interest. Some are thought to have been employed by the Ocean
Club complex on a casual basis and may have already been interviewed.

Police
are said to be keen to trace six British cleaners who were working in
Praia da Luz when Madeleine vanished and who didn’t appear in the
Portuguese files.
They are said to have used a white van and went
from apartment to apartment offering their services, chiefly
concentrating on expats.

A source said: ‘There is quite a culture
of people drifting from door to door offering services from everything
from your garden to your roof or windows.’
As well as the manual
workers there are a number of more obvious suspects who already appear
in the Portuguese files but who British police feel haven’t been
‘bottomed out’ properly and therefore warrant further investigation.
‘There
are a lot of people who could be explored further, if only to be
eliminated,’ said Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell, head
of Scotland Yard’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
However
officers face having to break down Portuguese resistance to re-opening
the inquiry. Officials in Lisbon say they can reopen the case only if
there is new evidence. But it has been claimed that the new leads could,
if properly explored, result in new evidence and possibly solve the
Madeleine mystery.
Detectives examining the Portuguese files were
alarmed that the original inquiry had not traced and interviewed all the
staff and holidaymakers who were at the Ocean Club when Madeleine went
missing.
Last year the Met said that it had identified 195 fresh
leads that should have been investigated either by conducting further
witness interviews, eliminating suspects or carrying out forensic tests
that were missing from the 2007 inquiry.
Officers found unexplained
gaps in the investigation timeline and that there had been a complete
lack of forensic examination of mobile phone activity in the area on the
night Madeleine disappeared.

Mr Campbell said it was ‘perfectly
probable’ that information which could identify the suspect responsible
for Madeleine’s disappearance was already in the Portuguese files.
He
reiterated a claim that Madeleine could still be alive. He said: ‘You
only have to look at the case in Cleveland, Ohio, and the European
cases. Of course there is a possibility she is alive. But the key is to
investigate the case and, alive or dead, we should be able to try and
discern what happened.’
The McCanns, of Rothley, Leicestershire,
have been kept closely informed of Scotland Yard’s review – codenamed
Operation Grange – over the past two years.
A spokesman for the
couple said: ‘They have been encouraged from the moment the review
started and are now greatly encouraged that police have drawn up a short
list of people who they believe are of interest to the inquiry.’

“@SkyNews: SUNDAY EXPRESS FRONT PAGE: Who soothed weeping Maddie?
Certainly some problems with this:

1. The McCanns' account of events is that Maddie AND Sean were crying, so the headline should read: "Who soothed weeping Maddie amd Sean?"

2. The McCanns said Maddie and Sean were only crying on the night of 2/3 May and denied (with the help of a statement from Rachael Mampilly/Oldfield) that she was crying on 1/2 May - so the headline can ONLY refer to 2/3 May

3. The alleged entrance of a couple to soothe a crying Madeleine has not so far been mentioned by:

* Kate McCann
* Gerry McCann
* Dr David Payne
* Fiona Payne
* Dr Russell O'Brien
* Jane Tanner
* Dr Matthew Oldfield
* Rachael Oldfield/Mampilly
* Dianne Webster
* Any staff member or manager of the Ocean Club
* Any staff member or manager of Mark Warners
* Anyone else.

But then if you go with the Mail on Sunday's version of events, it was all the fault of one or more British cleaning staff anyway.

British
cleaners and Portuguese manual workers are among new suspects in the
Madeleine McCann investigation, The Mail on Sunday has learned.

Like nobody predicted that.

OMG, millions spent and 20+ officers tied up for two years to come to the conclusion there was a bunch of cleaners in a Ford Transit who must have been responsible.

Are they sure these even existed? If they were cleaners in the area then surely somebody employed them.

No doubt this information has come straight out of the Spanish version of Magnum Pi, aka Metodo 3.

This story will be spun for days on the news and forums then gradually disappear like it did last time.

Is it not obvious to you that there are two feeds to the news agenda's of the newspapers?

1) Clarence et al; hence the Daily Mail newspaper article where the mccann's are desperately trying to regain the upper hand.
2) The mystery source of the story re 'who soothed weeping Maddie'

If number 2) came anywhere from the Mccann's camp we would have heard about it long ago as the prospect of someone coming into the apartment chimes much more clearly with their version of events than sightings across the world. (it also has not been seen in the files before!)

However, for this sighting of the mystery couple soothing weeping Maddie to occur, there clearly has to be a re-evaluation of the time line of events.
The Mccann's and the Tapas would certainly not refuse helping the police in this scenario as it supports their theory of a mystery 'they' who have taken her... as well as Kates idea that she was taken by a couple. Once in the police station.... it will be softly softly catch the monkey as the yarn unravels.

This second news agenda is putting the Mccann's in an exceedingly tricky situation!

There are two narratives competing against each other here, both with their own agenda's! don't lose sight of either as it is a joyous dance to watch at the moment.

No, Mrs Fenn heard the crying on the 1st. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Being a South African, maybe one of you can tell me which is the more reputable news source? I'd say skynews? And the fact that Brunt is in PT. I mean its the weirdest thing 2 headlines with two totally different stories.

What loopzdaloop said make sense though....

Well this is new, a couple entering, errm was it through the locked door or the unlocked sliding door, did they cover her and tuck her in and ensure she had the cuddle cat and comfort blanket? Did they also soothe Sean as he was crying too. Oh and what night was it this mystery couple did their good samaritan act and why did Kate and Gerry never comment on this before. They seem adept at picking up the angles of the doors so did they not notice someone has been into the apartment.
I am making this up as I type. I could get a job as a journalist spin
