He is supposed to be there, however they haven't actually shown him in person there, just reports saying he is.

Agree with your comments Woofer.
The problem to me is the MSM are repeating things over and over to get the public to believe that everything they say or print is true, like you say there behaving like antagonists. It's becoming like Chinese Whispers, next thing we hear will probably be, "Of course the McCanns are completly innocent" blah, blah. Who are they trying to take for fools.

I wonder if it is the beginning of an exit strategy for SY. They give the PJ a load of names and ask them to re-open the case which they already know they wont. They can then announce at the right time they can no longer make any progress because the PJ are not investigating their leads. That way SY can come out of this with no criticism and smelling of roses.

Why would he be there unless he's aware of something, or perhaps he's waiting to see if GM shows up or any of the T7.

Yesterday we had all this breaking news almost like the case had been cracked.
Today we have up to a dozen people that need to be eliminated, doesn't suggest arrests or anything. I bet if you got to the truth of it it would just be known sex offenders that could have been in the area, maybe missed in the PJ investigation. The do the same in the UK, whenever there is an abduction or assault they visit all the known offenders in the area to eliminate them first.
It's like going back to that lawless village in the hills. I bet all these private investigation firms have been doing is compiling lists of sex offenders which may have been around that area. Most of them will probably already have been eliminated by the PJ, these are 6 that may have been missed.
They managed to get the list down from 195 to 20. No wonder the PJ won't re-open the case. I don't blame them. They know the truth.

I believe this is an exit strategy for SY and it is timed nicely with Hamish Campbells 'retirement'.Pershing36 wrote:tiny wrote:Ididnt think this news such a big deal,or is something is going to happen

Well, just like the retired, and in some case infirmed, cops who oversaw the original Hillsborough investigation, Hamish Campbell will not be out of it if this is a whitewash.

It makes me very suspicious when the media provoke hatred between races and countries - they are always doing it. Its the same with the Oxford and Cherwell College Paedophile scandal - they are just reporting as though it was just Asians whereas its whites at the heart of the paedophile ring and its whites that are covering it up. The BBC are one of the worst - like last night on Radio 4 they reported that there is now tension between the Portuguese and UK because, they say, the Portuguese are refusing to re-open the case. Its the same old tactic of causing division.

So do I. His statements were almost entirely in the past tense re the review e.g. 'has been' etc.

I always found it odd that in the early days, May-June '07, it was the 'Maddie case' and 'Maddie' was used interchangeably with Madeleine. At some point since then the parents became keen to stress that they never called her 'Maddie'. Is it linked to Mrs. Fenn? 'Daddy, Daddy'?

Martin Brunt was on Sky earlier, reporting live from outside 5A in PDL. He said there is little reaction from Portugal, a couple of newspaper items, but nothing significant.

I used to think it was a psychological thing. It's clear to me that they always called her Maddie. As a distancing device calling her Madeleine might make things easier.
It's on a par with calling her 'this girl' (Lisbon court steps) 'a little girl' (to Mrs. Fenn by Gerry)
When a parent is annoyed with Bobby, he/she will say 'Robert!'
I don't believe Maddie was crying on the 1st, the original statements on the 4th (voluntary ones mind!) were that the twins cried and Maddie asked about it.
Then later it was Sean and Maddie, six months later Maddie on her own.
They were very keen to incorporate it in the narrative for that reason I tend to ignore it, my betting is that it was Sean. That it was a good opportunity to create a paedo who'd already been in 5a once.

Judging by Kate's pre-empting move in PDL recently, I should think something is afoot.

What's Brunty doing in PdL if he's not expecting anything to happen?

How reliable is Debbie Butler as a source? Does she live close by? I have to admit, although I know she was once involved with the Madeleine Foundation, most of that period of time has passed me by. These latest news reports are frustrating because they don't just get directly to the point, dealt with and sorted once and for all. These tit-bits of information are looking like something major will be announced very soon.

Notice the Police said 20 people of interests from old files.
Pinky did not spin it as 20 fresh leads.
Mr & Mrs and drinking buddies plus a few immediate family members and blind financier supporters and/or Fund trustees in the know all adds up to roughly 20, about right then.

So we can read either way:
They news broke BECAUSE Hamish Campbells is retiring and obviously wants to end his career on a high note, or
He is retiring because of the news to be announced soon.

This is all a little bizarre. This HEADLINE news, that topped yesterdays stories on the 24 hour news channels and has made front pages today is in fact, on face-value, a complete NON-news story.
There is nothing specific being reported. Maddie may (or may not) be alive. That's not news.
Several persons of interest need re-interviewing. That's not news either.
The media have twisted HC's words to make a non-news story into a headline.
BUT WHY? And WHY would Mr. Brunt be in Portugal to cover this non-news? A complete waste of time and money, unless....
Are the press just warming up, prepping the public and reminding them of the case, ready for the REAL news story to come?
On its own, yesterday's and today's headlines are meaningless. BUT, in the context of recent happenings, maybe not so meaningless.
Kate and Gerry looking davastated for the first and only time since arguido day
+ Murat's front page, "Bring them all back"
+ Kate's solitary return to apartment 5A in PDL
+ Sudden breaking "non-news", mentioning a "small group" of interest and possible new "forensic opportunities"
+ Brunty being in Portugal...
= ... something significant in the pipeline?

Very confusing. Martin Brunt has said the 'suspects' are foreign, ie, not British. That rules out the McCanns and Tapas.
The above would imply whitewash, but why is Brunt in PDL, and why aren't McCanns at their gate with Clarence, rejoicing at the news and and praying and lighting candles?

Surely martin brunt is not in Portugal just to tell us that the suspects are foreign,he could have done that from the studio.
