Just seen this as a comment on an anorak article:

The Guardian says the money was paid “on condition that the terms of the deal remained secret”. A confidentiality agreement was signed in September 2008.”

Yes, this deal was so hush-hush and confidential that Clarence Mitchell, in his role as family spokesman and roving ambassador for Freud Communications, felt able to put the figure in a powerpoint presentation to IIR Middle East’s annual PR Congress in Dubai in November 2009.

However, there is another payment from the News of the World to the McCanns that remains very hush-hush and as yet unreported. Perhaps this press release is supposed to disguise that?

Regarding the publishing of the diary, I wonder how Mrs McCann explains the following, from the press release issue by her libel lawyers at the time of the ‘apology’:

“The News of the World assures Mrs McCann, AND SHE ACCEPTS, that it acted in good faith and had no wish to invade her privacy or cause distress.”

This was back in September 2008!!!! so how on earth is she going to LI in 2011 complaining when she has accepted 3 years previous?

The “T7” receive apologies and £375,000.... I never knew of the T7 getting any money, they seem to have slipped under the radar. I'd like to know why they got apologies and hundreds of thousands, what has rachael & matthew oldfield and dianne webster done to deserve being given so much money? apart from being there and friends of

Didn't T7 have damages paid to them that they agreed was paid into the "fund"?

Thanks for the share ME - most interesting that Kate McCann felt the need to bring this up at the Leveson Inquiry AGAIN simply because NOTW is defunct so her Confidentiality Agreement is too. A woman of very little morals IMO

What makes you think her Confidentiality Agreement no longer exists Gillyspot?

Surely any legal documents would have been in the name of News International, not NOTW.

Thanks for the find Gillyspot. Why any of the T7 are getting payouts is beyond me, this is about a little girl missing not friends getting money!!!! But this does further prove what this scam is about.The article does say 'likely' to go to the fund which does not mean that it did, is there any proof of this? I doubt it as there is no transparency with the accounting of the fund. All this 'go to the fund' is just empty words and headlines, to con people imo. The money will have ended up in their own bank accounts no doubt

There has been a complete blackout where they have been concerned. They certainly have not made front page headlines. But I think I know what they are referring to, which did include the friends.
