to HideHo for this and what an absolute star she is! The response she got from SY "that is why its been given to a murder team" is very encouraging indeed. to you HidDeHo
I have been in contact with Scotland Yard regarding some information given to me a year ago which I officially submitted a few weeks ago.
I have been fortunate enough to speak directly with a few of the detectives on the case and it was suggested by the officer I spoke to this morning that I submit my videos. (tomorrow)
I'm realising now that with my videos officially entered into the review and being looked at in their entirety (approx 280 mins - nearly 5 hrs!) that they really could make a difference.
Special Compiled Videos
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I will try and review which ones I send, of course only the 40 compiled videos, (not direct uploads,) some taking approx 70 hrs to create, but I suspect there will be very few that I will feel are not worthy as each and every one were done with the intention of capturing the attention of those that were not previously aware of the discrepancies due to the media 'non' reporting.
I feel very positive about this, as noone can deny the information and comparison of their interviews and the subsequent forensic photos etc and discrepancies I have shown in each video. They certainly, imo, would not have officers dedicated to watching ALL the McCann interviews and pinpointing the discrepancies.
With the assurance that EVERYTHING submitted to the review is looked at, it feels good to know that many of our frustrations that I have highlighted in the videos, will, at the very least, be seen and that we really do have a voice (even if only through the videos)
I have no hesitation in saying that my impression, is that the detectives on the case take it very seriously and every piece of information is entered into Intelligence software.
When I asked about whether the discrepancies etc are looked at I was told "that is why its been given to a murder team"

Well done HiDeHo
A positive note to start our day. 'Murder team', if quoted correctly, is very interesting. It means of the 28 detectives and seven civilian support staff carrying out the review there are at least two of them working along the line of such hypothesis.

Scotland Yard has stated this review will be an investigative review which will take part as if the 'abduction' happened in the UK.
Let us simply change the word, or our interpretation of the word, "happened", to "had been reported".
Easy isn't it !
Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
I just saw a message on twitter about this. First I want to thank Hideho for all hard work done on this. I can just imagine the amount of hours you have spent doing your research and putting everything in video format.
I'm also happy that they will have a look at it, and just hopefully they see what we see.
I have one concern though:
Shouldn't that be the starting point of the investigation? I mean really? It worries me that they only going to look at this NOW. Did they really need someone to point out to them that there is something going on?

Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
Absolutely Brilliant!
Great Job - well done HideHo.
What I cant understand is why did Redwood announce (prematurely) so publicly that Madeleine was abducted by a stranger in a criminal act.
Two things bug me.
How did he come to that conclusion in spite of the highly specialised "murder-quad team" assigned from the outset to do the review? Was that (the conclusion and proclamation) unanimous of the collective murder quad? I mean how did a Murder-quad team assigned to examine a "murder" end up deciding it was abduction by a "stranger"?
Secondly I wonder whose choice of words was that when it was reported as 'abduction by stranger in a criminal act.' One would have thought every sort of abduction is a criminal act irrespective whether perpetrated by family or stranger; so why the need to state the obvious? As if it would not be a criminal act if abduction was perpetrated by people known to the victim!
It may just be shoddy journalism but I just find the emphasis of the words "criminal act of a stranger" so bizzare.
If the Yard is playing the blinder, it surely is a weird way of going about it. Maybe there is madness in their strategies ( I certainly hope so).

Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
quote " I have been in contact with Scotland Yard regarding some information given to me a year ago which I officially submitted a few weeks ago. "
well done for all the hard work.
Am not surprised at the news a murder team is involved, was it not stated in the remit that the major crime team involved homicide detectives? Given the statistics re- abduction, most victims are sadly not found alive.
I am a little puzzled why, when the review has been in place for a year, that this info was sat on until now....any way you can elaborate on why you waited, HideHo?

"that is why its been given to a murder team"
If it is not too much to ask, I hope HdH will enlighten us whether the above reply is quoted verbatim.
A homicide team is not the same as a "murder" team.
If that part of the reply is verbatim then I would say "WOW" as the implication can't be any clearer.

Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
Apologies if this has already been mentioned on a previous thread, but I was reminded of the recent Panorama episode (6 minutes in, using the link below): "The review team, finally set up last May and made up of experienced murder squad detectives..."russiandoll wrote: Am not surprised at the news a murder team is involved, was it not stated in the remit that the major crime team involved homicide detectives?

This jumped out at me at the time, as the narrator could have said "...missing person detectives", or even just "...detectives".

Hi Littlefish welcome to the forum[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Yes, I noticed that in the Panorama programme, and he sort of emphasised the word "murder", so much so, that I thought I had misheard, and went back and watched it again. As you say, he didn't have to use that word, and the papers have used the same word too. Very strange considering Andy Redwood says he believes Madeleine could be alive.

I think people are reading too much into that quote.candyfloss wrote:......Very strange considering Andy Redwood says he believes Madeleine could be alive.
Redwood has to approach the enquiry with a totally open mind. He cannot prejudge anything.
He must wait to see in what direction the evidence points and decide which avenues to follow.
It is wholly reasonable for him to set one team off with the brief that Madeleine is, or was alive, and then to tell the second team to investigate the markers for her death.
He is then trapped on TV in a face to face interview, and simply sets out the possible options without revealing where the evidence is pointing.
Which he will obviously never do until either the final report is submitted and approved by his Senior Officer, or something else happens.
TV does not give you enough time to explain anything in depth. He had to get his message across in about 7 answers, many of which were simply dodging the question to prevent a follow-up.
I am not as pessimistic as some here.
Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
But is it normal for it to take a year before the investigating officer says "she is either alive or sadly dead"?

Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
It's just possible we are reading this wrong, the reference to murder squad. It may be being suggested that Madeleine may have been abducted and then murdered. Which could explain why no trace of her has been found.

I am assuming their remit would include possible murder committed by any third party, not excluding an abductor(s) or her parents. I wonder though, do they also have an 'accidental death squad'?Angelique wrote:It's just possible we are reading this wrong, the reference to murder squad. Re: HiDeHo Videos Submitted to Operation Grange
I still can't find my post re policy and procedures in case of missing persons for UK police forces.
" If in doubt, think murder" was there in bold capitals.
There was an early ref to taking careful note of whoever reports an abduction, that person could be the reason the child is missing. I must have posted it on the Op Grange thread, months ago..but I cant find it and it was very interesting. If SY are following it as they should be, they have to consider the person who last saw the missing child and look closely at those surrounding him or her.
