'In the documentary Case Files XY Unsolved on German TV tonight, Christian Hoppe, director of the National Crime Agency, said German police believed they had almost enough evidence to charge him with Madeleine’s abduction and murder.'
Pretty unambiguous to me.
OK, splitting hairs, he may not technically be 'the German police' and it is not therefore a 'police statement' but a direct quote from the director of the National Crime Agency is good enough for me and this was just the first article I looked at.
No, it's a good call, Doug. Thank you. It shows where the NCA's thinking is. Do you know what their role is in this case? That could add weight to the statement, or indeed detract from it.

Batman, I know that I am very new here - but it might be helpful to talk to a German
Christian Hoppe is a high ranking police investigator of the BKA which means "Bundeskriminalamt". This is an indication that the German investigators take the case very seriously.

While Christian Hoppe from the "Bundeskriminalamt" appeared in the tv documentary "Aktenzeichen XY ... ungelöst", the prosecution of Christian Brückner in connection with Maddie's vanishing is headed by the local state prosecutor of Braunschweig. The various layers of local and federal responsiblities within Germany may be a bit confusing for non-Germans.
Meanwhile Brückner had apparently become a prime suspect in connection with various other cases all over Europe. Belgium and the Netherlands have started to look into their unsolved cases. I haven't the foggiest Idea what kind of evidence they really have against Brückner!

The state prosecutor from Braunschweig, Hans Christian Wolters has said explicitly that there is specific factual evidence against Brückner. But right now he isn't authorized to talk about it.
I guess we all have to be patient, even if it is very frustrating. But as I said in my very first comment: I do not believe that the various German authorities are involved in a nefarious cover-up in order to shield the McCanns. That's highly unlikely IMO. I guess that they are truly convinced to be able to crack the case wide open...

Did Wolters actually say this or did the media say that he said it? That could be a huge difference.
Does he speak English? If not we've also got the language barrier and we also have to consider the translation of anything that he did say.

Thank you to Textusa for the interpretation of Amaral's interview. You really are wonderful taking your time doing that. I look forward to reading the rest of it when you have time, that is.Doug D wrote:First part of GA's interview is now up on Textusa blog:

I feel so sorry for Goncalo, I really don't know how he has survived all the insults that have been thrown at him for the past 13 years let alone having to divorce his wife, having to live apart from his wife and children, having his pet dog killed etc and he still has charm and grace and never insults anyone but just talks rationally and puts everything into perspective. He has the constitution of an ox but then his police career involved him dealing with dangerous drug gangs and other unsavory criminals so I suspect the McCanns were a walk in the park for him. But he is still a human being with feelings, something the McCanns seem to forget in their 13 years of trying to bring him down and crucify him.
The McCanns are a disgrace and could put an end to this whole charade in a minute, but they're too much up their own backsides with £millions in the bank and would rather see a police officer who got the better of them vilified and crushed under their feet then actually admit to what they did.

Thank you littlefoot59. I'm like you - new to posting yet a long time reader of this and other sites seeking justice for MM.
I read your first post and thought it was hugely insightful. Thank you also for this response.
Since I asked about the BKA and their role in this investigation, I did my own research.
As I understand it, the BKA would take the lead in major crimes like terrorism. And in less significant crimes with an international angle, their role is to co-ordinate and liaise between regional (German) and international forces. Is that a fair summary?
Leading is a different role to liaising and my question - specifically in relation to this case - is which of these roles are they performing?
I hope you follow my reasoning. The answer would allow me to place more reliance on Hoppe's assertion that Wolter is on the verge of wrapping this up as an abduction and murder by CB. Alternatively, it could suggest Hoppe doesn't know any more than we do.
I find Wolter's cicumspection intriguing and if there's no more to it than Hoppe suggets, why doesn't Wolter just come out and say it? Makes no sense.

In the first episode of the documentary series The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, which arrived on Netflix this morning, Portuguese reporter Sandra Felgueiras recalls having an epiphany. It was 2007, a three-year-old girl had just gone missing during a family holiday to the Algarve, and Felgueiras had been sent to cover the case. She watched Madeleine’s parents, Gerry and Kate, make their first public statement to the press. As Gerry spoke, voice breaking, of his “anguish and despair”, his wife stared at the ground, clutching her daughter’s pink cuddly toy. “This is not news,” Felgueiras remembers thinking. “This not a story. This is their life.”

I doubt very much Sandra Felgueiras has been threatened. She's just doing what journalists do best - making money and career advancement.
There lies the problem.

Agreed. She was (rightly so) sceptical of the the McCanns in the early years. I'd love to know what brought her to the dark side.

With the greatest respect, are you privy to inside information about the German prisoner's alleged involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann?littlefoot59 wrote:The documentary "Aktenzeichen XY" is a a long standing tv format with a very good reputation. The searches for incriminating hints are often initiated by the official investigators themselves. But the fact that the German investigators felt the need to involve the TV audience might bei an indication that they still don't have the smoking gun! They strongly believe that Brückner did it, but they don't have enough evidence
for charging him.
London's Metropolitan Police are reputed to be the finest force in the world, or at least up there with the greatest investigators of all time.
The BBC television production Crimewatch is reputed to be up there with the greatest worldwide resources for public communication to aid criminal investigation.
If, as you say, you are familiar with this case, I need go no further.
Snr Amaral stated some time ago he expected a German prisoner to be the ultimate suspect that will eventually lead to case closure, as I'm sure many of us have thought over the years. This has now come to fruition, not I believe because there is any concrete evidence to carry the case forward but more of a dead end to finally close the case.
Whatever past crimes this latest suspect may or may not have committed, it in no way suggests any involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
As a starter, Madeleine McCann was not abducted, therefore no possibility of an abductor. If you wish to move on to disposal of a corpse, the specialist dogs deployed by the UK to assist the Portuguese investigation alerted to the scent of blood and death in the premises occupied by the McCanns, their belongings and the Renault Scenic they hired after Madeleine's disappearance.
Any seasoned observer will acknowledge the many times we've been this way before. False witnesses, suspects and leads that end in nothing. I believe this is heading the same way.
As you are a relative newcomer, I appreciate and thank you for your comments and your advice to sit back and wait. There lies a great divide - those who, like myself, dismiss the whole charade and those who wish to contemplate every possible angle and connection that may or mayn't be. This thread is now running into 44 pages with gives an indication of the hyper-activity it's generated.
I can't comment on the German rationale but as it stands, they are in no position to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. They can of course investigate their prisoner but they can't proceed any further as regards the case of Madeleine Mccann without Portuguese agreement and cooperation.
You have to wonder if there is any truth in any of this, or is it just another example of media intrusion. Heaven knows we've seen enough of that over the years. More often than not emanating from a 'source close to ..'
Realistically, is there any likelihood the case will now be satisfactorily concluded because of some nasty character incarcerated in a German prison - after thirteen years? I very much doubt it.

More of the same..
Madeline McCann: Friend of Christian Brueckner says ‘sick’ German man must confess
‘He was definitely a pervert and all his friends thought that about him. He had some sexual issues but we didn’t think that he liked young children,’ former friend says
A former friend of the man German police believe is behind the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has reportedly said he “knows” the German sex offender took the child, and has urged him to admit to it.
Christian Brueckner was identified by police in Germany earlier this month as the lead suspect in the more than decade-long investigation into the disappearance of the three-year-old from a Portuguese hotel in 2007.
Now a former friend of the convicted sex offender and paedophile, who lived with him in Portugal where Madeleine went missing, has said he is convinced it was the 43-year-old who is behind the girl’s absence.
Describing him as “sick” to The Daily Telegraph, Michael Tatschl, 46, said: “I know he did it”.
“I was living with him at the time. He was my best friend and he was definitely a pervert and more than capable of snatching a child, for sexual kicks or money.”
Mr Tatschl became involved with Brueckner, who at the time was involved in a number of criminal activities including burglary, in the early 2000s.

With friends like that, who needs enemies.
A very recent report said Christian Brueckner was on the police radar for two decades - that's twenty years! Where were they when he was out and about migrating, raping, pillaging, drug dealing, abducting, trafficking, flashing ....
Important note:
Madeleine McCann was not abducted. No abduction = No abductor.
The primes suspects in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann.
Keep your eye on the ball!

Yes we must keep our eye on the ball and remember the only people who said this was an abduction were the McCann's and their is NO evidence for it after thorough police investigations of their claim Vs the highly trained and respected dogs evidence of blood and cadaver in the apartment in several places, outside and in the car. How can anybody then credit the abduction theory over the dogs evidence? It becomes impossible. You cannot bribe a sniffer dog, DOGS DON'T LIE but sadly, humans do. I very much doubt that this guy will be charged with Madeleine's abduction as they will have to produce some pretty overwhelming evidence as to how he did it as no one so far can see any. What did he do 'levitate her through an open door? Call to her to come outside through a closed window? If they can come up with something I'm all ears, otherwise I'm sticking with what we know.

This is reminiscent of those hedonistic days of McCann media dominance - waking every morning to hear and see the name McCann.
It is now as it was then. A mixture of ill-founded reports from far and near - good publicity v. bad publicity but one thing never far from the surface, the McCanns are the goodies and the PJ are the badies. You have to wonder why a team of well grounded human beings were/are so severely vilified for just doing their job. So determined were the McCanns Inc to derail the official investigation by the Portuguese police, they ruined the case coordinators career and life - dragging him through law courts in the process.
Does that seem like normal behaviour for the innocent?
And now, thirteen years down the line, Snr Amaral is again in the spotlight, not because of his determination to see justice in the name of Madeleine McCann but to be portrayed as the disgraced Portuguese cop who, with the help of his team, bungled the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Net result .... McCann v. Portuguese police. Madeleline who?

SLIPPED THE NET Madeleine McCann cops missed the chance to question German suspect in Portugal as he was out when they called

PORTUGUESE cops searching for Madeleine McCann missed the chance to question a German suspect because he was out when they called on him.
Detectives visited the home of 'Christian B' in Praia da Luz but they gave up after there was no answer at his door, a former police chief has revealed.
Ex-cop Goncalo Amaral poses with his controversial 2008 book that saw him sued by the McCannsCredit: AFP
Disgraced top cop Goncalo Amaral, 60, told Portuguese TV: “I have been told by colleagues, who are retired like me, that they had come knocking on the door.
"That person was not at home.”
Amaral, 60, led the initial investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance back in 2007, but was removed after criticising British police officers.
He also alleged, in a controversial book, that the three-year-old’s parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, had covered up their daughter’s accidental death in their Algarve holiday apartment.
The McCanns claimed the book was "unfounded and grossly defamatory" and launched legal action against Amaral in 2009.
In 2015, Kate and Gerry were awarded around £450,000 in libel damages by a Portuguese court, although this decision was later overturned.
'PERFECT SUSPECT'
Amaral has made numerous appearances on television since the emergence of Christian B as a suspect in the McCann case.
He has repeated his well-known criticism of the Brit youngster’s parents and their “Tapas Seven” holiday pals.
Amaral accused them of abandoning their children to eat out at night and lying to Portuguese police, and said Madeleine had been crying the night before she vanished on May 3, 2007.
He also branded Christian B a “scapegoat”, describing the 43-year-old as an “almost perfect suspect”.
Amaral first claimed last April that a German paedophile who was in prison would be accused over Madeleine’s disappearance.
He told a Portuguese TV interviewer last night: “When I spoke last year I was talking about the situation that’s happening now.
“It matters little who the paedophile is.”
He added: “He’s an almost perfect suspect. All that’s missing for him to become the perfect suspect is for him to be dead.”
Asked if he believed Christian B was the man responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance, he added: “To answer that question it has to be proven first that an abduction took place.”
But during his half-hour-long interview with Portuguese broadcaster TVI, he also insinuated the German authorities had altered photos of the two-tone VW camper van Christian B was using around the time Madeleine disappeared.
Kate and Gerry McCann in Portugal in 2007 shortly after Madeleine's disappearanceCredit: EPA
The former PJ chief, showed interviewer Jose Alberto Carvalho photos he said were taken in Portugal of the same vehicle.
One of the photos he produced showed a series of very distinctive Minion-style characters painted on the front and back of the camper van, which in the picture put out by police had no markings on it.
He said: “It’s the same vehicle flagged up in the police appeal.
“I think it’s important to ask why the photo put out by the authorities of the van was altered.
“Would that vehicle have gone unnoticed in Praia da Luz with those markings on it? I don’t think so.”
He went on to say any appeal focused on the van from the official photos without the distinctive markings would be a waste of time.
He claimed detectives were not aware of Christian B’s 1994 teenage sexual conviction for molesting a six-year-old girl.
But he confessed: “At the time all we knew was that this man was a paedophile.”
He also came out against German authorities’ plans to re-examine DNA evidence taken from the McCanns’ hire car and holiday apartment.
Amaral rubbished reports a saliva sample had been found on Madeleine’s bedspread and could prove key to a conviction now Christian B had been identified as a new suspect.
He said it had been proven it belonged to a baby being fed mother’s milk staying in the apartment before the McCanns arrived.
Asked why he thought the German authorities might have interest in coming up with new information which in his opinion had no real value, Amaral claimed: “Because it enables them to have jurisdiction over this case.
“I think the Portuguese police and the authorities can do anything here in laboratories that they can do in Germany.”
Amaral’s interview was his first since Christian B’s name was made public - and the first time he has spoken about the case since last December.
He spoke last year on Spanish TV to rule out speculation Hamburg-born child strangler Martin Ney was being probed over Madeleine’s disappearance, months after claiming on an Australian podcast that a scapegoat was being prepared by police.
He failed to identify Ney by name at the time, describing the suspect only as someone who had been ruled out of the investigation into the missing British youngster in 2008 but later jailed in his home country.

New mugshot emerges of Madeleine McCann suspect from 2006 just a year before she disappeared
Police a have released an image of the suspect taken by them near to the time when the British toddler disappeared in Portugal in 2007

A new mugshot of the German paedophile suspected of abducting Madeleine McCann, taken just a year before her disappearance, could jog the memory of people in the area at the time and lead to new information.
Christian Brückner was 29 when he was arrested for stealing fuel in the Algarve, and a picture of him from April 2006 has been uncovered in court documents from the time.
A former neighbour told The Telegraph that she recognised the German drifter, who was often spotted racing his Jaguar XJR up the dusty gravel track towards his secluded farmhouse just outside Praia da Luz.
“He always had greasy hair and scarring on his face from what I assume was acne,” she said, adding that “It might help people” remember him.
It is hoped that other people may recall the young man with floppy hair from around the Praia da Luz area in May 2007, when Madeleine disappeared.
In an interview with The Telegraph on Monday, Michael Tatschl, an Austrian man who described himself as Brückner's best friend from the time (pictured below) said: "When I saw the Netflix documentary I knew immediately that he was guilty.
"The part where the female tourist talked about the man turning up at her door while her child played by the front door, the creepy guy with acne and blonde hair. I just knew it was Christian for sure.”
Brückner was known to be a “snappy dresser” and often wore a leather jacket, and allegedly had an array of stolen watches.
Another image (below) that has been uncovered shows him as a teenager in 1996 having just been released from jail in Germany for molesting a six-year-old girl in a playground. He had much shorter close-cropped hair, and a more youthful face back then.
The new pictures came as Germany’s highest court, the Bundesgerichtshof, confirmed it would decide whether Brückner will be granted parole for a drugs offence he is currently imprisoned for in Kiel, northern Germany.
The ruling was expected from the local courts in Kiel and Braunschweig, where the 43-year-old last lived in Germany, after he finished two thirds of his sentence on June 6.
But both institutions ruled the case was outside of their jurisdiction, prompting an intervention from the country’s equivalent of the Supreme Court.
If the Bundesgerichtshof rules in Brückner's favour, he could be a free man by July 17 depending on a separate legal challenge currently before the European Court of Justice (ECJ).
Brückner is appealing his conviction of raping a 72-year-old American woman after an administrative error from the German police who extradited him from Portugal on a drugs charge but then put him on trial for rape.
The police blunder could result in the ECJ, which is expected to hand down its decision by mid-July, ordering a retrial or scrapping the conviction altogether.
On Tuesday, The Telegraph spoke to Rogério Alves, the lawyer who represented the McCann family in 2007, who once again hit out at the German prosecutors stance on the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance.
“The prosecutor is saying that he is really convinced that Madeleine is dead. He keeps saying that he has found Brückner to be suspicious and they believe that he is responsible.
“At the same time, he is arguing that there is not enough evidence to charge him, so sometimes we get a little bit confused. “But what we have to do is wait for the police to do their job and the investigation, that’s all. We cannot keep speculating about it.”

The German 'suspect' was investigated years ago by the Portuguese police and discounted.
I wonder why all this sudden media interest?
When stuff like this happens, it usually means something has cropped up that the mccanns don't want to the public to know about or be disinterested in/minimized.
All this still fails to explain the reaction of the blood and cadaver dogs to the apartment, the hire car, kate's trousers, the child's red t shirt and cuddle cat.
If he did actually kill her and it was in the apartment, why would he remove her body?
Dead bodies are extremely heavy and difficult to handle hence the phrase dead weight.
He would then have the problem of moving her body out of the apartment into whatever he used to move her without being caught and the disposing of her body at its final location.
It would have been far easier to have left her body in situ.
Since blood, body fluids, DNA and cadaverine were detected in the hire car which was blamed Maddie's sweaty sandals, dirty diapers and also other members of the family and even friend driving the hire car to explain the 15/19 markers (14 were too degraded to be identified at the time) and then blamed on rotting meat and fish for the horrible smell which was commented on by Michael Wright and also meant they left the trunk of the hire car open every night.
If the German guy hired the car before the mccanns, there would have been a record, they would also have noticed the smell and complained about it rather than ignoring it.
They would not have explained away the body fluids etc, they would have been demanding every test going to find out if their missing daughter could have been transported in the car before they hired it.
They would also not have come up with explanations for what was found in the apartment such as mosquitoes or nose bleeds, they would not have explained away the dog picking on kate's trousers as her being in contact allegedly with 6 corpses before their vacation, ditto for cuddle cat although they can't even agree when she got it or if it was her favorite toy/comforter like the now missing pink blanket or how it got on the t shirt.
Why when the dogs reacted in the apartment they could not explain it or had excuses rather than screaming and crying and demanding to know if it meant their daughter had been harmed or injured by the alleged abductor.
Why then did kate refuse to answer the 48 questions although technically it was more as several were compound questions) whilst answering the 49th
1. On May 3, 2007, around 22:00, when you entered the apartment, what did you see? What did you do? Where did you look? What did you touch?
2. Did you search inside the master bedroom wardrobe?
3. (Shown two photographs of her bedroom wardrobe) Can you describe its contents?
4. Why was the curtain by the sofa near the side window tampered with? Did someone go behind the sofa?
5. How long did your search of the apartment take after you detected Madeleine’s disappearance?
6. Why did you say Madeleine had been abducted?
7. Assuming Madeleine was abducted, why did you leave the twins to go to the ‘Tapas’ and raise the alarm? The supposed abductor could still be in the apartment.
8. Why didn’t you ask the twins then what happened to their sister or why didn’t you ask them later on?
9. When you raised the alarm at the ‘Tapas’ what exactly did you say – what were your exact words?
10. What happened after you raised the alarm there?
11. Why did you go and warn your friends instead of shouting from the verandah?
12. Who contacted the authorities?
13. Who took place in the searches?
14. Did anyone outside the group learn of her disappearance in those following minutes?
15. Did any neighbour offer you help?

17. Did Jane Tanner tell you that night she’d seen a man with a child?
18. How were the authorities contacted and which police force was alerted?

20. Why did the twins not wake up during that search or when they were taken upstairs?
21. Who did you phone after the occurrence?
22. Did you call Sky News?
23. Did you know the danger of calling the media, because it could influence the abductor?
24. Did you ask for a priest?
25. By what means did you divulge Madeleine’s features, by photographs or by any other means?
26. Is it true that during the searches you remained seated on Maddie’s bed without moving?
27. What was your behaviour that night?
28. Did you manage to sleep?
29. Before travelling to Portugal, did you make any comment about a foreboding or a bad feeling?
30. What was Madeleine’s behaviour like?
31. Did Maddie suffer from any illness or take any medication?
32. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister?
33. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister, friends and school mates?
34. As for your professional life, in how many and which hospitals have you worked?
35. What is your medical specialty?
36. Have you ever done shift work in any emergency services or other services?
37. Did you work every day?
38. At a certain point you stopped working. Why?
39. Are the twins difficult to get to sleep? Are they restless and does that cause you uneasiness?
40. Is it true sometimes you despaired at your children’s behaviour and it left you feeling very uneasy?
41. Is it true that in England you even considered handing over Madeleine’s custody to a relative?
42. In England, did you medicate your children? What type of medication?
43. In the case files, you were shown canine forensic testing films. After watching them, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
44. When the sniffer dog also marked human blood behind the sofa, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
45. When the sniffer dog marked the scent of corpse coming from the vehicle you hired a month after the disappearance, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
46. When human blood was marked in the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
47. When confronted with the results of Maddie’s DNA, carried out in a British lab, collected from behind the sofa and the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
48. Did you have any responsibility or intervention in your daughter’s disappearance?
and the 49th question which she did answer:
Q. Are you aware that in not answering the questions you are jeopardising the investigation, which seeks to discover what happened to your daughter?
A. 'Yes, if that’s what the investigation thinks.'
Not the expected behavior of an innocent mother!
It also doesn't explain why the parents and chums refused to take part in a reconstruction.
As arguidos the parents were compelled to take part, they got round it by having their friends make so many demands and placing so many restriction on the PJ that is was impossible to do a reconstruction.
Claiming the PJ could use actors was ridiculous as only the mccanns and chums would know what they were doing where and when, plus with all the alleged checks, the group would have been up and down like yoyos.
Why would innocent people refuse to cooperate?
Surely they would have been demanding a reconstruction and taking part even if it was a painful reminder/memory.
Innocent family and friends of a missing/murdered loved one will still take part in a reconstruction if it finds their missing loved one.
Why did they offer to take a polygraph and then when taken up on the offer, set so many conditions it was impossible to do?
In the Kate Prout murder case, the failure of Mr Prout to pass a Polygraph test led ultimately to his confession to the murder of his wife.
Back in September 2007 the mcanns, as part of their PR 'fight back' against the action of the Portuguese police in making them arguidos, made it known - albeit through the inevitable use of a proxy 'friend of the family'/'source' - that they would be willing to take a lie detector test to clear their names.
"They have said all along that they want to co-operate fully with the Portuguese police," the anonymous 'friend' stated, adding that they had "received no such request from the Portuguese authorities".
Once the frantic headlines, such as 'McCANNS: WE'LL TAKE LIE TEST', had been successfully embedded into the nation's newsstands, clarence mitchell, the mccanns spokesperson, stepped forward to pour cold water on the idea. Principally on the grounds that such evidence was not admissible in a Portuguese court.
And there the matter lay...
Until November, of the same year, when a "shocked" Don Cargill, chairman of the British And European Polygraph Association, spoke to the Sunday Express. He revealed that he had spoken to "the mccanns' people", with regard to taking a lie detector test, and they had come back "with a list of conditions that would have been impossible to satisfy".
Mr Cargill said: "Kate said she'd take it to prove her innocence but in reality, she wasn't willing. I was dumbfounded, to tell the truth."
The accompanying headlines, such as 'KATE REFUSES LIE TEST', were clearly unhelpful and so, as usual, clarence mitchell was afforded the final word on the subject:
"Gerry and Kate don't need to do one as they are telling the truth."
How did he have time to almost forensically clean the apartment leaving little DNA of Maddie in her bed or the children in the apartment in the few hours between the mccanns putting the children to bed at 19:30 and then the 22:00 hr check when Maddie was allegedly discovered missing and all the checks in between, leaving no smell of bleach etc, making Maddie's bed with the corner turned down and having the bed under the window all messed up>
It also does not explain away kate's infamous description on page 129 of Maddie in her exhibit 1 your Honor madeleine (with the title Madeleine all in lower case whilst kate's name is capitalized showing priority and also subtle demeaning of the victim)
Page 129: I asked Gerry apprehensively if he’d had any really horrible thoughts or visions of Madeleine. He nodded. Haltingly, I told him about the awful pictures that scrolled through my head of her body, her perfect little genitals torn apart. Although I knew I had to share this burden, just raising the subject out loud to someone else, even Gerry, was excruciating. Admitting the existence of these images somehow confirmed them as a real possibility, and with that confirmation came renewed waves of fear.
Firstly, given they described Maddie as almost perfect when born, what parent ever describes their child's genitals as perfect?
Secondly, what innocent parent would ever put such a thing in a book supposedly written for their other children to read when older let alone the general public?
Page 276, Apart from describing her sex life, why would kate use these words in relation to Maddie?
The idea of a monster like this touching my daughter, stroking her, defiling her perfect little body, just killed me, over and over again.
Firstly she use THIS (which is close rather than THAT (which is distancing(
Why does she place herself close to the alleged monster?
Why does she then use the words touching and Stroking her and perfect little body
Stroking is a gentle, loving term you would expect to see between lovers not between a paedophile and his victim.
No innocent parent would refer to a paedophile stroking their child
Defiling is an expected word.
Again she describes Maddie as having a perfect little body
We have seen all the subtle demeaning about Maddie from her immediate and extended family, things like being jealous of her siblings, being demanding, having tantrums etc yet we see kate again describing Maddie has having a perfect little body
This is unexpected from an innocent parent.
No mention is made about her having a perfect character, it is all about her appearance.
Scary especially given the description about what Maddie would do as spoken by david payne and reported to the PJ by the Drs Gaspar and also paynes extremely creepy and scary description of Maddie in his rogatory interview:
1485 "Okay. I'd like you to describe Madeleine to me. What sort of a child she is and you know how you see her.'
Reply "Mm, err Madeleine's err a very striking err beautiful child, I'd almost if I want a better phrase call her doll-like, you know she was very, you know I think, you know very unique looking child err, she'd got very pretty, you know blonde hair err in a bob, she was quite a petite err child and you know she was very bubbly, very err you know she was a very good child to, to interact with. She was very bright, you could have a lot of fun with Madeleine err and you know she, she was, you know Kate and Gerry's, you know pride and joy. They'd had a lot of trouble conceiving, you know with IVF and everything and you know Madeleine was their miracle. She was obviously very unique with the fact that she'd got the, you know the iris defect err but you know she was certainly a happy go lucky child you know she was, she would interact with the other children very well, as I said on the other, earlier recording, you know she played very happily with Lily and you know indeed the other children. She was, you know, very, she is a very beautiful child and good fun.'
1485 "Mm.'
00:15:30 Reply "You know I, you know a fact I've come across already you know she was a, she's a very bright child you know, she wouldn't be the kind of mischievous child who you know and just try and get out of the flat and you know get up to mischief and that, you know, there's fun in all children but she certainly wasn't that kind of child. She was very bright.'
I wonder what type of fun we could have with Maddie?
What was the kind of interaction that could be had with Maddie?
Was it the same kind of interaction that adults had that children had?
What was the difference if any?
What was the difference between payne interacting with Maddie and having fun with Maddie?
She interacted with payne and other children but played with Lily.
Why did she interact with other children rather than play with them?
Why the focusing on her appearance first rather than her character and personality?
Why describe her as Doll like
Note of course all the paste tenses!
what type of fun does he mean when he said " there's fun in all children but she certainly wasn't that kind of child.
Was there a bad child to interact with she was a very good child to, to interact with.
Note the qualifier very and the stutter on the word to
15 x was's
She'd
Could
23 x you know
1 x correction from past to present tense - She was, you know, very, she is
9 x She was, you know, very, she is
2 x interact
2 x fun
2 x unique
3 x bright
1 x self referral as I said on the other, earlier recording
They do not call out to Maddie unless prompted and even then is is minimal, almost as if they lost a watch.
They do not call out to the alleged paedophile abductor.
In all the interviews and chances to send a message they don't, even from the get go.
Not forgetting the fact they never searched, instead they played tennis and went jogging, not the expected behavior of innocent parents.
Over the last 13 years, their language and behavior tells us they know Maddie is dead and knew from the get go making the fund a fraud.
They have told us Maddie is dead.
Kate has described perfectly what a corpse looks like when they have been dead for a couple of days, unembalmed and kept cold "I was crying out that I could see Madeleine lying cold and mottled, on a big grey stone slab."
As an ex doctor, she would have seen dead bodies but they would have been fresh (when called out to confirm a death as a GP, although as a p/t locum, this would have been very uncommon, and her only other exposure would have been in medical school and they would have been embalmed and the classes would not have been over a long period) She is describing when she last saw Maddie.
Also the description of this alleged paedophile abductor does not match the discounted description of the alleged abductor as seen by tanner.
The abductor was described as dark hair yet this German 'suspect' is blonde.
Did he go back in time and dye his hair?
What will Scotland yard say?
What will Portugal say more importantly since the crime took place there and it is they who will prosecute the case?
Is this man going to be the patsy?
Will kate and gerry let him take the fall, Innocent of this crime although guilty of others?
Will they testify in court as to their behavior that week?
What is the penalty for perjury?

I’ve never understood why Kate wouldn’t answer those questions. Surely she’d be desperate to give any assistance she could. I read somewhere, probably in the book she wrote, that when being questioned at one point, quote: ‘Gerry lay a reassuring hand on my arm’. I found it strange that, if true, Gerry was allowed to be present while she was being questioned. Apologies if I’m going over old ground but everything that you’ve written speaks volumes.Hobs wrote:The German 'suspect' was investigated years ago by the Portuguese police and discounted.

^For me, the question isn't why Kate didn't answer - that's clearly lawyer's advice. The question for me is, if they were both truthful, why after 4 months did they still not have the confidence that their answers would be on the same page?
A certain call back in Gerry's arguido is telling.;
'--- When asked if on any occasion Madeleine was injured, he says that he has no comments.'
'-- The lawyer for the defence says he wishes the arguido to be asked again if Madeleine bled. To which he said it was common for Madeleine to have nosebleeds. He says that he doesn't know if in fact his daughter bled while on holiday in Portugal because he does not want to be influenced by the news in the Press, regarding the detection of human blood in the apartment where his daughter disappeared.'
Why does Gerry change the question?
Apologies, off topic.

Why would there be any 'battle' between Germany and Portugal for dna samples when SY has all the digital data already? Not even a storm in a teacup. #McCann'

2 or 3 days after Madeleine's disappearance I saw pics of the Mcs jogging and thought WTF? Their 3 yer old daughter has been abducted and they are out jogging? I couldn't believe it. Then this pic, ingrained in my head, of them a week after their daughter's "abduction", possibly in the hands of paedophiles, and they smiling like they'd won the lotto. They are mental, imo.

Thanks for posting that link Doug. Always interesting to read what Amaral has to say. It's a shame we don't hear from him more often really.Doug D wrote:Textusa has now put up the second part of GA's interview.

They are hoping that Bruckner may have confessed to someone or at leat hinted that he was guilty. They have offered a £22,000 to reward to anyone who spills the beans.
Brilliant - just look at these people who come forward as I'm sure that many more will now.

Sharon yes indeed - there were clearly thousands of pervy prowlers around that night, enough for 13 yrs of tabloid guff! All drifters too who seemed to be on a never ending cycle of travelling between pdl Germany and Morocco.sharonl wrote: They are hoping that Bruckner may have confessed to someone or at leat hinted that he was guilty.
