Madeleine McCann cops 'bungled investigation from the start' claims top Brit detective

A BRITISH detective who led the UK investigation to find Madeleine McCann has accused Portuguese cops of bungling the initial investigation.

By Tom Towers / Published 15th June 2019

Jim Gamble, the senior child protection officer in UK's initial Maddie investigation, said the first Portuguese officers investigating the disappearance panicked as the case gained international attention.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, Mr Gamble said officers bungled the probe when they wrongly made Maddie’s parent’s Kate and Gerry ‘people of interest’ just four months after she vanished.

He said: “By that stage time had passed and I think desperation was setting in.

“There was huge pressure on the police in a high profile case in my mind.

“I feel that they rushed to judgement because that particular judgement would suit.”

He believes the couple were only targeted by Portuguese cops because of their misunderstanding of DNA results.

In 2007, DNA swabs were lifted from the McCanns’ holiday flat and hire car.

Portugal’s police force sent the samples to be analysed the Forensic Science Service in Birmingham, but Dr John Lowe exampled they were “too complex for meaningful interpretation”.

Analysis of hair and other fibres taken from the hire car and apartment were analysed by the unit.

The DNA results came with a major ‘health warning’ from the FSS.

Jim Gamble wrote: “By that stage time had passed and I think desperation was setting in”

An email from John Lowe stated that only 15 out of a set of 19 components of Madeleine’s DNA profile had been found in the hire car.

Mr Lowe cautioned: “The individual components in Madeleine’s profile are not unique to her; it is the specific combination of 19 components that makes her profile unique above all others.

"Elements of Madeleine’s profile are also present within the profiles of many of the scientists here in Birmingham, myself included.

“It’s important to stress that 50 per cent of Madeleine’s profile will be shared with each parent.

"It is not possible, in a mixture of more than two people, to determine or evaluate which specific DNA components pair with each other. ... Therefore, we cannot answer the question: Is the match genuine, or is it a chance match.”

Despite this, Portuguese police still wrongly declared Kate and Gerry “arguidos” – people of interest.

Mr Gamble added: “The information I was getting from people on the ground was that the Portuguese police hadn’t thoroughly considered what was said in the first report by the Forensic Science Service (FSS), which was a big question mark.”

He continued: “Having seen the letters from the FSS, I have to say there were no grounds for them doing that."

Spokesman for the McCanns, Clarence Mitchell said at the time: “They are innocent of any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance and have been since day one – and this wrongly-imposed arguido status must be lifted as a priority and our lawyers will be pressing for that.”

There is no suggestion that either parent had a role in her disappearance.

Mr Gamble previously blasted trolls for spreading conspiracy theories about Kate and Gerry and creating a “vile cesspit of allegations”.

She disappeared from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on the evening of May 3, 2007.

Cops are still trying to trace 13 suspects seen acting suspiciously in and around the resort before Madeleine’s disappearance.

Despite high profile police appeals and the release of a series of sketches and e-fits in the 12 years since, no trace of Maddie has been found.

Gamble knows full well that this statement is totally untrue.
Dr Amaral has explained it very simply, so that even people without a legal or a police background can understand.
Gamble was a Police officer and knows, knows, perfectly well that if you are going to ask a person a question and you suspect that the answer might be incriminating you MUST, by law, caution that person.

IN the US is is called the Miranda warning after Miranda v. Arizona, (1966)
IN the UK it is called 'cautioning' and is now a statutory requirement, (PACE 1984 Code C, revised 2018) where previously it was under the 'Judges' Rules". (dating back to 1912)

Up to that point the PJ had treated the McCanns as witnesses [ or as they would claim - victims] but they wanted to ask about events in more detail, and given that they already knew that both Mccanns had lied about shutters and doors, and curtains and lots more besides, wanted to probe.

They therefore had no choice in law BUT to 'caution" to make them both arguidos.

Gamble understands that, but chooses to perpetuate one of the McCanns' favourite myths, in a Tabloid aimed at C2, D, E readers
Why ?

Since when has Jim Gamble been a top detective?

This man is a designated media "go to".

The Media Monitoring Unit lives on.

The control of the press is frightening.

omgomg  here we go again with yet even more fake news being recycled via a struggling gutter press.

Firstly lets just remember that back in 2006 the press were struggling due to the news and other articles being posted onto the internet resulting in a fall in the sale of newspapers.

We know that the McCanns did a number of deals with the press, everything from staged walks to, selling their stories, to serialising Kates' book, TV interviews and documentaries, to paying £500,000 to the now extinct and discredited Bell Potttinger, to keep their stories in the press.  So, is the media biased in its reporting? Well, yes, of course it is, it has a number of deals and an ongoing story.

Secondly, the Portuguese police did nor bungle the investigation.  We all know that the McCanns not only arranged a deal with the press but contacted Gordon Brown asking him to apply political pressure to the case, which of course he did, with the assistance of Portuguese Prime minister Jose Socrates, who has since been convicted for corruption in other cases.

Gordon Brown and jose Socrates applied political pressure to get Goncalo Amaral removed from the case and the investigation archived. in doing that it called for all argued status to be removed, regardless of whether or not the arguidos were formally cleared.  Furthermore, the supreme court judges in portugal recently confirmed that despite their arguido status being removed, the McCanns had not been formally cleared and remained under suspicion.

Furthermore, the McCanns and their benefactor, Brian Kennedy, arranged for private investigation company, Metodo 3, of which its founders have since been arrested for various crimes, to conduct an investigation alongside the official investigation,  this only served to hinder the Portuguese investigation as they created false evidence and tried to divert the investigation into Morocco where the at least one of their team was caught bribing witnesses to say that had seen Madeleine there.  Furthermore, we had the likes of Leicestershire police who were pallying up with the McCanns and withholding vital evidence that pointed to paedophiles in the McCanns group of friends.  This was well timed as they held onto the document until gordon Brown was able to get the case archived.

Then we have the British Forensic services who after we had the news via Martin Brunt that there was a 100% DNA match to Madeleine in the McCanns hire car, tell us that it was now inconclusive.

So, did the Portuguese police bungle the investigation?  Of course not, there was interference from the McCanns corrupt PIs and pressure from a corrupt UK government.

Then we have the biggest joke of all time, this "Top Cop" called Jim Gamble.

Now, here we have a child protection officer who:

Says it is OK for paedophiles to download child images - isn't this what creates the market for these images and put the children at risk?  duh

He gets spotted at a child brothel in Cambodia - Whats he doing there?

He claims that he is making a film - thinking  Advertising a child brothel?

Has he made any attempt to protect these children with at least a campaign to close the place down?  NO, he has not.

He was once the head of CEOP, until Theresa May forced him to quit.  - why did she do that to a "Top Cop"?

As head of CEOP, he had an entry on his website regarding missing Madeleine on April 29th, 4 days before the McCanns reported her missing  - the day that MMRG and many others beliieve that Madeleine died.  - Impressive, not only a "Top cop" but a "Mystic Cop" too.

Our "top cop" who believes the McCanns and has always supported them, obviously has not seen the clip where Kate McCann demonstrates how she entered the apartment and found the window open, the shutters jemmied and the curtains blowing, claiming that she instantly knew that Madeleine had been taken because of the state of the place.  By now claiming that Madeleine had simply wandered off, our "Top cop" is discrediting everything that Kate says in that clip and in her book, he is making her out to be a liar.  So why then is he saying that she is innocent? Why would she need to lie if Madeleine had wandered?

thinking  Was Gamble actually out in PDL that early on?

If Gamble is our top cop - God help us.  laugh
