Re: another good read
Holy Holy.
I never post.
But I just read this.
This is more than just a good read - this is it on the table.
No one can keep this covered up anymore with the information lying in order as it is in this book.
This is what I have been waiting for all these years.
I would love to know who is behind it?
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful.
Good idea for us to download and then share the file around.

more people of interest than inhabitants
It seems that there are indeed more people of interest than inhabitants in Portugal. But at least we are getting somewhere. No police are willing to tell about probes nor review. My opninion is that they are getting at the last moments of their re-investigation, some of the 20 people of interest are left overs. The Met police have no other choice than to interrogate them : it is a review.
This has been a terrible lot of work for the Met which, according to themselves, want "to prove what they believe that happened".
In my opinion they started the review believing in something otherwise they would not have started it.
There is hope for Madeleine and for us. Some people among those 20 must be innocent, others not.
And the police will put pressure on all of the ones whom they suspect. Perhaps it will not be even necessary to put pressure on them. They will be honest in their statements.
Let us hope that this is coming to an end.
All in my opinion.

Re: another good read
Perhaps the Portuguese police have a list of their own of persons they would like to re-interview?
In fact they do!
"They would like to re-interview the McCann party with a view to a reconstruction of the night the child disappeared! But the McCann party they say NO! They don't want to talk to police!
They don't want to help the investigation. They don't see the point they declared.
Why then on that basis do they expect that others should? Others might not see the point!"
Well said. Excellent read.

Re: another good read
Some sources are saying twenty suspects, others are saying twelve.
Four couples at the tapas bar plus one mother-in-law.
Twenty minus twelve equals eight. Hmm.

Re: another good read
Why can't SY get this? the police are not exactly popular atm and solving this case could do a lot for their PR. But they still skirt round the obvious

Re: another good read
The reason SY is producing "spurious people of interest" is IMO obvious if we could all once and for all accept that SY is controlled by HM Government. The farce which is referred to as Operation Grange is better described as "damage control".
This posting by Ironside puzzled me for ages but eventually the light dawned and I understood perfectly.

"I took the decision to close this blog following my conversation with an officer at Scotland Yard. The conversation that took place left me cold and made me realize I am wasting my time but more importantly, yours. However, many people still visit and it is no hardship for me to post links as and when they become available.
I think I should make it clear that the officer I spoke with at Scotland Yard had nothing to do with the so called 'Operation Grange Review' which is why our conversation was so interesting. The officer concerned gave me his name and a reference number if I should ever wish to contact him again. But there really is no need."
There will be no investigation into Madeleine's disappearance or "neglect" or anything surrounding this case until HM Government says so.

Did we ever find out exactly what made Ironside give up?
Almost makes one wonder if there is a special department at SY called The Detract From Main Suspects Department. And of course HC would be the ideal manager of such a department as he seems to have experience in detraction.

Re: another good read
A good read I agree, but I'm not so cynical. The goal of the review is to have the case re-opened. Indeed, that is what the mccanns have been campaigning for with their Petition and their direct plea to David Cameron. Lets not forget the Portuguese are also conducting their own review, and that too must reach a conclusion.
A point must be reached where the re-opening of the case will be the only way forward. In fact, its likely we are at that stage now. Of course, any re-opening must be subject to Kate answering those 48 questions and all of the Tapas group participating in a reconstruction, how else can they be eliminated from the enquiry?
Having gone to such lengths to have the case re-opened, the McCanns cannot now refuse to co-operate with the Portuguese police.

Er, they didn't do ANYTHING to stop it being shelved!
They had the chance for it to NEVER be shelved but did not ask once for it not to be.
As for lengths they have gone to, it only costs the price of a stamp on an envelope, containing a hand written letter signed by the McCanns to the Portuguese Prosecutor requesting to have the case instantly re-opened!
And it would be!
Where is THAT letter from the desperate McCanns?
Even their most 'ardent supporters' should be imploring the McCanns to wite that letter, shouldn't they?

That is the beauty of it Jean. They campaigned for a review, started a petition, and had their appeal put on the front page of the Sun. Lucky them, Cameron responded and gave them what they asked for. The point of the review was to find evidence to re-open the case. SY now say they have it. The next step is the re-opening of the case. The mccanns should be delighted, or is it a case of 'be careful what you wish for'?

Oh sorry, I didn`t mean `give up` as in die - I meant give up her blog because of what the SY officer said.

Ironside died from a very rare form of breast cancer. Rest in peace.
