Re: Pedro do Carmo: "Maddie's parents are not suspects. Period."
His comments are a lot clearer in the panorama documentary. He kept referring back to the initial investigation and said the parents 'were ' not suspects repeatedly. When Bilton pressed him on it, and said do you consider them suspects now, he was quiet for quite a while before answering, and basically said at the moment there is no fact or evidence which proves their involvement. So after watching the panorama documentary I'm a lot more encouraged. It sounded to me like he was choosing his words very carefully.

Everyone loves a 'trier' don't they, Bilton?
Can we 'imagine' what the headlines would have been, if, IF, the PJ chap had 'said' " No, NO, they are not suspects NOW"
(doesn't bear thinking about!)
Bilton has, imo, damaged his reputation, significantly, imo, with his almost sycophantic erm, 'desire' to have the McCan'ts, in the 'clear', at all costs!
Maybe his 'last throw of the dice' before he's 'pensioned' off, for a younger 'model'!
WHY would he have done that for two non-descript 'doctors' he does not 'know'?
There's 'fame and fortune' for the first real 'reporter' that does a 'proper job' and takes the gloves off, with the McCan'ts and their T7 'friends'.
