But wait.....they said there was no evidence that their daughter had come to any harm. Even when Andy Redwood of Scotland yard said she might not have left the apartment alive and Bernard Hogan Howe said it was a murder investigation. Those pesky death smelling dogs weren't having an off day after all. Please interview Gonzalo Amaral if these two don't have any grounds to sue anymore.

Maybe The Sun should be questioning the McCanns as to how they were so quick and ready to give up their parental and legal guardianship of Madeleine and make her a ward of court so early on. She might have been found the next day or week. By doing this, it meant they were given access to files of the case held by the PJ, but surely, as the concerned parents they propose to be, they have dumped Madeleine and any responsibility they held over their own child. The reality is Gerry and Kate never expected to find her.

Nicola Newman 5pts

Please read the enlightening Gaspar statements taken by the police. Why the info contained has never been pounced on by the media I do not know.

Why haven't the remaining children been taken away? They are not fit for purpose as parents.

josh kellaway 5pts

For 10 years there has been ever thickening smoke above Madeleine's parents - indication being they know more than they've offered. British police have not been dealing with them as suspects, despite the suspicious events and circumstances so oft written and spoken about; why are our cops dragging heels?

Joshua Giles 5pts

It's called a lie detector that way they both have to reply to questions

Tokar911 5pts

Neither should they be cleared of any involvement, at the very least they should have been charged with child neglect through leaving their children unattended. The interviews they have done have contradicted emselves several times which is probably why they don't do anymore. I personally think they drugged Madeleine so they could go out with their friends for the night , she possible awoke doozy looking for her parents and could have had a fatal fall. Her parents are dodgy and no matter how much money they have they stink of guilt. Personally I think she was dumped at sea miles from the apartment and the parents know she will never be found.

hayley neill 5pts

They really are running terrified now. It isn't long until they are found guilty of murder and they know it. I hope they suffer abuse and violence by the inmates, so much they want to die but are kept alive to keep the suffering going. They deserve this and worse

Walter Oldfartknocker 5pts

The investigations into the McCanns is closed in all but name. However if they carry on trying to grab headlines and doing interviews they run the risk of a real investigation being launched into them. They may want to consider this as they keep on hogging the headlines. Any sane person whether guilty or not guilty would have walked away from the public eye years ago and lived their lives in private. If only just for the well being of their two remaining children.

Public donations also paid for top extradition lawyers! Why would they need these if Madeleine was 'abducted' but when it came to paying for private investigators to 'search' for Madeleine, they picked ones that were as dodgy as they come! Within weeks they had Madeleine trademarked!! They were advised by the police not to mention Madeleine's eye defect but instead thought it was 'a good marketing ploy' to advertise it all over the place! They want the public to think they are neglectful parents as without neglect then there would be no abduction! As Doctors, who would have seen day in and day out of kids having accidents within the home, does anyone really believe they would of left 3 toddlers alone! There is a few good Facebook pages with the police files and links to Gonçalo Amaral’s book.

The statement of Dr Katherine Zacharias Gaspar made to Leicestershire Police on 16 May 2007:

One night, when all the adults, that is, from those couples I have mentioned above, were all sitting around on a patio outside the house where we were all staying. We had been eating and drinking ‘Berbers’.

I was sitting between Gerry and Dave and I think both were talking about Madeleine. I can’t remember the conversation in its entirety, but they seemed to be discussing a particular scenario. I remember Dave saying to Gerry something about ‘she’, meaning Madeleine, ‘would do this’.

“While he mentioned the word ‘this’, Dave was doing the action of sucking one of his fingers, pushing it in and out of his mouth, while with his other hand he was doing a circle around his nipple, with a circular movement around his clothes. This was done in a provocative way. There seemed to be an explicit insinuation about what he was saying and doing. I remember being shocked by that. I always felt it was something very weird and that it was not something anyone should say or do. I looked at Gerry, and also at Dave, to gauge their reactions.

“I looked around as if saying: “Did someone else hear that, or was it just me?”. The conversations stopped for a moment, then we all began conversing again. Moreover, I remember Dave doing the same thing on another occasion. In saying this, I want to mention once again that it was during a conversation in which he was talking about an imaginary scenario, although I’m not sure. He again stuck one of his fingers in and out of his mouth and with the other hand he once again drew a circle around his nipple in a provocative and sexual way. I think he was referring to the way she, that is, his daughter Lily, would behave or what she would do. I think he did this later during this same holiday.

It;s no secret in Scotland that the McCann's had regular contact with known paedophiles and both Kate and Gerry were participants on the swinger circuit.  What is very surprising to the legal fraternity in Scotland is the massive amount of public funds that has been spent on this case, when it is crystal clear they were directly involved in the death, either accidentally or deliberately.  There was no abduction, and the discredited story of the McCann's fails under scrutiny.  The subsequent disposal of Madeleine's body by the McCann's shows their actions were precise and calculated. There are various theories on how this was done, but one thing is very clear, Madeleine is dead and the McCann's have not provided a credible story on the events.

Claire Mybusiness 5pts

The celebrity snowflakes like Branson have been helping these two from the start. That's why the new information about Gerry's paedophile friend (overheard by a good friend at the table on that same holiday talking to Gerry inappropriately (sexually)) about little girls was removed by Google search engines.

Tim Sandham 5ptsFeatured

Try grilling them as hard as you've searched for the poor deceased maddie, grill them hard enough they WILL slip up with all the BS stories they have spouted over the years and you'll get the answer of they DID have something to do with her death ohh really meant "disappearance"

I can promise you that, and then give them life no parole only a cell four walls a dirty smelly mattress and a couple of diseased ridden rats to keep them company for the remainder of their lives

Don't let this be another oj outcome but involving an innocent child as the victim.

Donny Dee 5pts

Innocent people don't need to stay quiet....enough said.

bosch bosch 5ptsFeatured

This is so wrong on many levels, they have never been private and rarely speak, they have been on multi tv channels around the world speaking and peddling their lies to those who listen, and never actually say anything, Planning their next move to swell the coffers, but this is what erks me ! if they trully believe she was taken and searching, believing she will return , Then how do they know she wont return before 10th anniversary, or the next fund raiser, unless you have knowledge that the child will not return.  As for previous comments on the use of the funds on other personal items for the McCann couple. please take a few minutes to read the fund site, it clearly states to help the family of madelaine financially. So on this they have done nothing illegal but morally very wrong, because people donated to search not to give them a lifestyle beyond their means. i do believe the walls are closing in and if the super injunctions were lifted, justice for the little girl would be served. Whilst everyone calls those against the McCanns  trolls, all they ask for is justice for a little girl who has no voice, and it does not matter how many times they sue, they call people names , the truth that is in their minds, will eat away and will never go away. It is true the saying "the truth will set you free"

chloe reed @bosch bosch 5pts

But it was obviously meant as a long term thing to bolster their finances. After all Gerry was planning '1 year anniversaries' and such weeks after the disappearance. I am sure this is totally normal for parents of missing kids, to be thinking long term rather than hoping beyond hope that the child turns up within the next few minutes...

Iain McGregor 5pts

The only people who truly think that the McCann's are innocent are their close friends and their friends in high places who are protecting them. There are too many unanswered questions in Madeline's disappearance, i.e the scent the special dogs picked up in the apartment and the car that they hired after her disappearance, why? Kate washed Madeline's favourite toy, as a parent I know both my wife and I would never had done that if one of our kids had gone missing. Why? both of them and their friends from that night have blatantly REFUSED to take a lie detector test. So after this ruling let's hope the net is closing in on whatever involvement they had on their daughter's disappearance.

chloe reed 5pts

The 'fund' should not be spent on endless attempts to sue anyone who disagrees with their fairytale. As it should not be spent on mortgage payments and 5 star travel for themselves. Those who donated expect it to go on actually following up leads and searching for the child. It was never meant to be an income for the parents to squander. When I donated, I was under the impression my money would go on finding Madeleine not providing the parents with a luxury lifestyle. Of course, I donated before I read the files...I would never do so again.

NO proof of abduction. Any 'proof' points towards the abduction being a hoax. Anyone reading this, please read the files. If you think this was an abduction by a strange I guarantee your mind will change.

colin mair 5pts

I am surprised their other children weren't taken from them. May that poor little girl either be happy or rest in peace.

Moonk 5pts

It's just a shame so many people are working night and day to protect them whilst the governments just keep ignoring their own criminal activity. They are 100% responsible for that little girl going missing and should be answering questions on it - if they use "no comment" then they should be locked up. Then there is the issue with all the funding they've received to go on their holidays etc. Raised under false pretences of looking for a little girl that they know fine well what happened with.

James English 5pts

Why do they continue to spend fund money on legal actions?

If they truly want us to believe she is alive why aren't they simply ignoring Amaral and calling him out on his claims?

Perhaps they could come up with answers why the dogs were inaccurate!

Perhaps they could explain about blood spatter and why it had nothing to do with them!

Perhaps G could explain just what it was he found so funny in that video of him laughing a few days after M disappeared!

Perhaps they could explain the inconsistencies in the statements they all made!

Perhaps they could answer some of the original questions!

Perhaps they could both take lie detector tests after all that would put paid to all of the "untruths" from Amaral wouldn't it!

Perhaps they could actually tell some real truths!

No, you don't think they want to do any of that! I wonder why not?

Agreed.

But prime responsibility for publishing these comments on a website read by millions, and for their subsequent re-publication on various sites all across the internt, rests firmly with the Editor of the Sun.

It's entirely his choice to leave them up there for hours and hours

@Kate Adams  Then Kate answer this:

Why were Kate's trousers returned to her to continue wearing?

Why was CuddleCat returned and Kate able to carry it around?

Nobody knows just what the dogs alerted to in 5a but as there was blood in the apartment before the Mccanns arrived perhaps Paul Gordon's.  No need for a cadaver when dogs alert to both.

It looks from the comments allowed as if they've been thrown to the wolves.

Something has changed dramatically.
I cannot help but think of the twins.

Why did the parents let it come to this.?

It looks like payback time for all those lawsuits against the press. The Portuguese Supreme court ruling looks to have been the fatal blow - a self inflicted fatal blow.

It looks just like with Lance Armstrong, that the lie has just got too big.

One thing I and many parents know if a stranger tried to carry off a 3 year old child that child would be making a racket and wriggling.
Unless the alledged abductor went prepared with means to keep Maddie quiet then it's extremely difficult to carry off a distressed, vocal and wriggling child it would take some balls to do that in a holiday centre and that reason alone has always made me believe from day 1 that they are guilty of something.

As a result of the dogs' sofa indication, the police discovered more blood underneath the tiles below the window.

@JULIE MILES  That is nonsense Julie  and maybe you need to go and read the files again and then Lowe's report and understand what you are reading.

The blood underneath the tile was from a police officer charged with lifting said tile.

At least you have got one thing right...Eddie does alert to both and as the occupant prior to the McCanns gave a statement about bleeding in the apartment, then if blood was the alert...what does it prove to you?

@ben benson  Ben I am reading it again and it is full of holes.  Whether it is twisted by the  translation I don't know because Anna Esse had to make disclaimers where she didn't understand this or that.

Poorly written and more a chronological run down of events as he recalled them with a lot of hypothesising involved too.

I don't understand how he could write it while under the oath of judicial secrecy either?

My musings & questions.
Curious that no one at the hospital where he works is allowed to talk about the case to the media, rumour has it and it's only alledged but talking to the media about him could result in a disciplinary wonder if that's true.
Couples who go through what they have invariably part sometimes permanently, others who manage to hold onto each other do so in a very difficult way.
Yet the McCann's are so into each other and I really don't think that is a front for the media but I do think that it's possibly an obsessive love or a union which has to stay tight due to the dark secrets they share.
It's time for the politics and protection around this couple disappeared and allow the Portuguese free rein to question who they wish.

@Gail Marie i don't see any problem with their work colleagues not being allowed to talk about the case. imagine if they weren't as guilty as they clearly are it would be massively inappropriate. obviously not as inappropriate as offing their own child so they could have some mediocre tapas but, y'know, employment laws and industrial tribunals and all that

@colin culk I know, especially as the McCann's would sue an opening of an envelope if they thought they could win. I have never known a case like it as regards how they appear to control what is and isn't said. Considering the intrusion and investigation into other high profile mysteries heck they have had more control then the royal family have over Princess Di's life and death. Just don't get it.

@Gail Marie  Now that is you musing because you don't know the truth about that or whether it has been ever asked of the staff...do you?

So are you implying the McCanns should have split up & then you might have believed them?  does this fit in with the criteria you demand of people who have been to hell and back a thousand times?

Are you jealous they are a strong & loving  couple?  Seems like it to me.

For 10 years there has been ever thickening smoke above Madeleine's parents - indication being they know more than they've offered. British police have not been dealing with them as suspects, despite the suspicious events and circumstances so oft written and spoken about; why are our cops dragging heels?

Neither should they be cleared of any involvement, at the very least they should have been charged with child neglect through leaving their children unattended. The interviews they have done have contradicted emselves several times which is probably why they don't do anymore. I personally think they drugged Madeleine so they could go out with their friends for the night , she possible awoke doozy looking for her parents and could have had a fatal fall. Her parents are dodgy and no matter how much money they have they stink of guilt. Personally I think she was dumped at sea miles from the apartment and the parents know she will never be found.

The investigations into the McCanns is closed in all but name. However if they carry on trying to grab headlines and doing interviews they run the risk of a real investigation being launched into them.

They may want to consider this as they keep on hogging the headlines. Any sane person whether guilty or not guilty would have walked away from the public eye years ago and lived thier lives in private. If only just for the well being of their two remaining children.

@Walter Oldfartknocker i'd not given them a second thought for years but by aggressively trying to control how they are seen in the media they have once again highlighted the fact that they are guilty. it's as if they feed off media attention and have decided that a bit of press is more important than keeping a low profile and avoiding prison

@vencedor That was the plan it seems. Early on after the disappearance, Gerry was warned against publicizing Madeleines coloboma. The police told him that doing so would mean almost certain death/harm for the child IF she was still alive. Gerry ignored this, published it, his reasons? 'It is a good marketing ploy'. Just sick.

They have always been no 1 suspects to the Portuguese police amaral should be compensated for ten years of stress distress libel and anything else he can charge the mccanns with the poor man lost his job cus of them lost everything cus of them he needs his life back now if there is anything u wanna know about the case there are groups on Facebook I learnt so much from s group called hideho they are on twitter aswell everyone should know the truth and that group have extensive research on the case

As Doctors, who would of seen day in and day out of kids having accidents within the home, does anyone really believe they would of left 3 toddlers alone! There is a few good Facebook pages with the police files and links to Gonçalo Amarals book.

I may have become cynical over the last ten years but this could turn out to be a nice little deliberate earner for the McCanns, by their friends at the sun. (when they sue for lots and lots of money). The timing certainly could not be any better, as they face financial ruin due to the success of the legal appeal overturning that £425000 payout.
Far fetched? . . Maybe. Unbelievable? . . .  No more unbelievable than the whole sorry charade. just another chapter in marketing.

The agenda is one of two things IMO;

following the original modus operandi by allowing the McCs to sue, settle out of court and top up the fund. A way of money laundering income into their fund which is what I believe happened before.

or

It's a deliberate stalking horse to tempt them out, make them sue and then put them on the stand to face the questions we've all been waiting for them to face. This would be a very convenient way for the Establishment to quickly distance themselves from the McCs as they get slaughtered in court. It's possible that criminal action follows without the risk of the McCs taking others down with them as they're already utterly discredited.

Absolutely.

Anyone foolish enough to put anything libelous ("murderers", "swingers") better watch out.

They should keep to the facts and unanswered questions - there is plenty of meat there.

Stick to them and they can't touch you.

The other part of the game is of course the people who deliberately put comments like that there to push someone to take action about "terrible trolls".

Problem - reaction - solution.

But these comments are not on Twirter or on a website.

The Editor of the Sun has personally been responsible for all those comments being published in in the Sun - and if the McCann Team are going to go after anyone, they will have to go after him...

Tony Gallagher, Editor of the Sun - authorised his newspaper to publish unmoderated comments claiming that the McCanns were 'swingers' and murdered their daughter

They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Ermmmmm.....

"Trolling" is making the news again.

Item on the BBC News front page today.

Trolling?

These are people with legitimate concerns about the conduct of the Pope, including a Cardinal.

Yeah "trolling".

Watch out for an attack on "trolls".

Someone should do something about those terrible "trolls" and all that "fake" news.

And they probably will.

Tony,

Don't forget the definition of trolls according to the Telegraph:

Investigation-into-McCann-internet-trolls-launched-by-police

Other tactics include attempts complain about the McCanns through Freedom of Information requests, the bombardment of the BBC Crimewatch show message board and Facebook pages. Anthony Summers, the author of a recent book that argues the McCanns are innocent, has also been targeted.

In one of the DM stories recently Clarie used the term 'antis', they have obviously decided using the word 'troll' is a big no-no after driving someone to kill themselves. They have to keep appearences squeaky clean.

I disagree Tony, there will be a get out clause, otherwise the Sun's editorial team wouldn't have allowed the comments to be published.  There is a devious reason behind this and it's not related to freedom of speech.

To think otherwise you would have to believe that all Murdoch's work has been in vain.  When you think back over the years, the Murdoch empire, the Sun tabloid in particular, has been backing the McCanns 100%.  They were even behind Gerry McCanns extraordinary invitation to the Police Bravery Awards where he, Gerry McCann, was said to have received an outstanding ovation!!!  How could they possibly volte-face now?

Murdoch Inc. is a very powerful global force to reckon with - talk establishment and Murdoch is right up front.  This case has never been about the McCanns in isolation - and there lies the true mystery.

If it sells more papers they would probably do almost anything.

As much as I abhor the behaviour of the McCanns and their extensive entourage, it sickens me to see some of the things written about them on social media over the past years.  Even I can't help but sympathize with those at the receiving end.

Whatever your personal feelings are on the case, there is absoluely no need to resort to vile abuse.  It doesn't help anyone or anything.

Whatever their reason, to use the case of a missing child as a platform for their warped minds is simply wrong on all levels.  These miscreants are the very reason why anyone who questions the circumstances surrounding Madeleine McCann's disappearance are collectively called evil/vile trolls.

Yes, food for thought. It also reminded me of reports that Murdoch has recently been in talks with May at No 10.

The only thing I would say is that May has ditched many policies Cameron pursued. May was for some reason used as leverage in Brooks getting Cameron to set up the SY review (the threat to have May on the front page for a week). The McCanns had also stated their displeasure with May when she stonewalled them at a HO meeting.

May has had to do the rounds, pictured with Kate McCann and April Jones' mother among others. Maybe not too willingly.

Different ball game I think.  As regards politics, they go with the flow - but there ain't no flow were the McCanns are concerned. It's a carefully orchestrated campaign, or as I prefer to call it, a protection racket!

Besides, Murdoch Inc. is politics as politics is Murdoch Inc. - if you get my drift.

I have my doubts about stories selling copy in more recent times.  I never buy a newspaper anymore, it's all online so why should I?  If there's a paywall then I'm not interested, just move along to another news source.  The days of alliance to a particular newspaper I think are long since gone, they all latch on to reports circulated by a central source, i.e. The Press Association.

O/T as such, but The Sun have now recycled this one from last year for some reason:

'I'M LOOKING FOR MADDIE' Guide defends ‘ghoulish’ Maddie McCann tour around the apartment where tot went missing and says he is ‘trying to progress the case’

He says he is just 'trying to progress the case' as the 10th anniversary of her disappearance approaches

Of course, I don't really put any credence to Theresa May posing with Kate McCann for a photo-shoot but it's excellent fodder for ridicule.  I see these occasions as an indication of how Madeleine's disappearance has catapulted the McCanns into the dizzy heights of celebrity status.

Having said that - if Madeleine McCann's fate is embroilded in some way with a national/international scandal that, if exposed, will rock the very foundations of society (which I strongly suspect - I can see no other explanation), then I truly don't believe Theresa May will be the whistleblower.

History has shown in such cases, when one door is opened someone is right behind ready to plug the hole.  Bit like Ocean Club apartment 5a, way back in April/May 2007.

.........snipped..........

As I understand it, moderating comments means the website are held responsible for what's posted. If they don't moderate then it's the individual commenters that are responsible.   I don't think this is a 'fishing for trolls' type exercise, it could be that they want individuals to take the risk of saying certain things before they publish anything along the same lines.....to test the water.

I tend to think the same as Tony.  If the comments have been allowed to stand for several hours then why on earth hasn't the moderating team whooshed them.

Its not as if the comments were posted on a weekend when staffing levels might not be as high as a weekday.

We know that other comments have been removed in the past quick as a flash so I do believe the comments on anything to do with Mr. & Mrs. are monitored regularly.
