Extraordinary term of phrase - that aside, according to the various witness statements the alleged child checking arrangements the following night didn't appear to be any different than any other night. I suppose it could be said that Gerry McCann was behaving 'thoroughly' when he peeped around the children's bedroom door and thought how lucky he was to have such a beautiful child.

Then of course he had a leak and headed back to the restaurant to join the fun.. Because it's bloody expensive

The whole case is riddled with anomalies. For instance several psychologists agree that it's not normal to say "they've taken her" as a first comment. A normal person would say "where's Madeleine", or "has anyone seen Madeleine".
The shutters were mechanically operated & could not be opened from the outside without destroying them & they were not damaged in any way at all. My conclusion is that the shutter evidence has not been pursued because it's been decided not to pursue it & which is why Piers Morgan didn't pursue it. If you look at all their media interviews, not once is their version of events challenged.

I really can't say. I know most, if not all, the family and friends back in the UK that were contacted on the night of 3rd/4th May made reference to the forced entry scenario but I can't see any possible reason why the McCanns made that claim, other than perhaps an arrogant assumption that the sardine munching local cops wouldn't question their story and a desire to influence UK public opinion from the outset via the media.

They cleaned up the crime scene and allowed scores of people to trample around before alerting the police so I venture to suggest they had ample time to tamper with the window and shutter and do a bit of swooshing.

The photographs taken by the PJ - why wasn't there any evidence of the presence of children? Young children make mess, they leave their mark everywhere, their clothes, their toys, their scribbling books, their left over food, their presence - sorry I digress.

My main point is why Kate McCann continues, year in year out, to repeat the window/shutter and swooshing curtain story when the PJ investigation found no evidence to substantiate the claim. The conclusion of the investigation no evidence of forced entry, only the fingerprints of Kate McCann and a GNR officer.
