@Verdi - I'm sorry but I don't think Totman should be given a mm of slack on this one, along with Redwood/Grange. Redwood clearly stated on Crimewatch (Oct 2013) that in their eureka moment the MET had realised that Tannerman was a MW father, carrying his 2 year old daughter back from the night creche. Totman has apparently now outed himself as that father. In theory, he could now say he didn't realise Jane had seen someone walking in the opposite direction and it can't, therefore, have been him BUT for Op Grange there are no viable excuses - they can't blame the confusion on Totman. And, if Op Grange do-away with Totman aka crecheman, Tannerman is back in the frame after Grange had conveniently disposed of him.

Dr Totman:

- at what time, and using which route did you return to your apartment after picking up your daughter?
- did you see or talk to anyone?
- why didn't your daughter have socks on (to keep her feet warm AND clean, if walking around on a hard floor in the night creche)?

Simple questions, should be simple answers.

It is elementary - if Totman had already collected his child then he could not have been walking in the direction Jane claimed Tannerman was. If he was on his way to collect his child (and therefore going in the right direction) then Jane cannot have seen a child WITH him. The Met need to explain this glaring contradiction. If Totman is Tannerman, Jane's testimony cannot be the true.

Hi Phoebe,perhaps operation grange should recall the Three outstanding Police Officers to account for the "thesis,eureka moving time frame moment" SIO Hamish Campbell,DCI Andy Redwood,DCI Simon (nodding Head ) Foy,they were,where they where at the Tapas table,when Madeleine disappeared,so cannot be the suspects,the three Amigo's!

I would note,just take a look at what had happened since the Supreme Court Action on defamation taken in Portugal by Kate,Gerry,Operation Grange.
Sir Bernard Hogan Howe and the Assistant Commander, Mark Rowley of the Metropolitan Police Force have both stood down from any "Duties" to Operation Grange within a  Five month decision taken in Portugal,25th January 2017, "One last line of Inquiry" and they very quickly vanished away to pastures new?

The New Metropolitan Police Service Commissioner, Cressida Dick has simply stated," We will see where we go with Operation Grange"?

Which concludes that the Metropolitan Police Force has lost "Five" very senior Ranking Officers on One single Operation Grange investigation and No further along in solving the Madeleine McCann disappearance after eight Years of investigation?

I make no excuses for ex-DCI Andy Redwood, Operation Grange, the Metropolitan Police nor the Crimewatch production team. It was/is not they who have so far named Julian Totman.

If it turns out Totman is the mystery man that led to Andy Redwood's revelation moment and not just another media blitz, then I'll gladly reconsider.  Meanwhile I'll cut Totman some slack - there's enough names been dragged into this charade just because they happened to be at the Ocean Club at the same time as the McCann's, let's not add to the list unnecessarily.

I have come to the conclusion that there have been so many lies told over the years by so many involved (or not) in this case that nobody can remember who said what to who (or should that be whom?) or where they were at any given time!

Take note:  Broadcast May (that month again) 2011, coincidently about the time Operation Grange was launched, talking about the PJ files being in Portuguese blah blah blah.  The Portuguese files were made public in the summer of 2008 come May 2011 they had been translated by volunteers and discussed widely on the internet.

Maybe the Metroplitan Police were uncertain about the accuracy of said translations but I don't think the McCanns or a source close to the family has ever disputed the online translations.

It was claimed by the mccanns that they spent £100,000 on having the files translated into english.
Their supporters (and the mccanns via 3rd parties) declared that our translations of the files was wrong and that they would find the errors and would show that they were innocent of any involvement in the death, concealment of a corpse and filing a false police report.

However, after 11 years and £100,000 spent on translating said files, not one correction has been made to what has already been released.
Given their claims that our translations were erroneous, why have we seen neither sight nor sound of the supposedly translated and corrected files that would prove their innocence?

Could it be that the mccanns did not spend £100,000 on having the files translated into english?
Could it be that the £100,000 was whoosh clucked away to accounts unknown?
Could it be that our translations were and are correct in every detail and the mccanns knowing this have done their usual trick of pretending it didn't happen in the vain hope that we the public would forget?

Their supporters, a certain pg in particular was most vociferous in declaring our translations to be wrong and the mccanns version was the only true one and would show their innocence and that we would be sued for libel and the usual pick and mix of crimes against the sainted duo.

I would love to see the translated files allegedly paid for by the mccanns, if they ever existed.
I suspect that the mccanns did not have the files translated at exorbitent cost because the translations were already freely available and we all know how avaricious they are.
Had our been wrong the mccanns (and supporters) would have plastered the erroneous parts all over the front page and their corrections and loudly proclaimed the files proved their innocence.

As we know, the mccanns were and have never been, cleared of involvement  relating to Maddie.
This statement came from the Portuguese Supreme Court.

This, of course has left them vulnerable to being counter sued by those media organizations and persons who they sued and who settled out of court or had to make a legal agreement limiting  what they can say regarding the case for saying the mccanns were involved in the death, concealment of a corpse and filing a false police report either in total or any one or more of the allegations.
They would be liable, if found guilty, for not only payment of the full amount back to said organizations and persons, their legal costs plus interest on said amounts.

It could be even more fun if said media decided to counter sue the tapas 7 relating to their involvement or guilty knowledge.
Should the tapas 7 lose, they to would be liable for the full amount to be paid back plus legal costs and interest.
The fun is, the tapas 7 would have to sue the mccanns and the fund for the return of their donations, allegedly made after they settled out of court in order for them to be able to repay the monies to the media along with costs and legal fees.

Since the fund is pretty much broke would they be able to get any of their money back?
What about the £500,000 ring fenced which can only be used to buy tools/equipment for a business or property.
Since the mccanns don't run a business requiring tools or equipment, one can only assume it is property.
Is it rothley towers or another property perhaps?
Maybe  spent to prevent  payment to Dr. Amaral and the others whose costs they have to pay?
Maybe spent to prevent Dr. Amaral suing them for defamation,libel or whatever he decides?

They also allegedly lodged an appeal with the ECHR, have we heard anything back on that yet?
I doubt the ECHR will get involved since their appeal will be based on a civil suit against a person.

Have they paid anything out yet regarding legal costs for not only themselves but also those they sued and lost against?

I doubt carter-ruck would do a no win no fee given their status as high end and very expensive lawyers
Would they do a no win no fee  for two people suspected of homicide, concealment of a corpse and filing a false police report and not cleared of involvement, especially with the Portuguese Supreme Court ruling?
Their legal standing would take a nose dive when the mccannns and chums are charged and found guilty.
Crimes not only relating to the disappearance of Maddie which would be prosecuted in Portugal, also the charges relating to the fund, obtaining money and services by deception,  perjury (the leveson inquiry) false representation, fraud and that's just this country.
other countries where they got money via donations either via their website and the donate buttons, the merchandise and  begging bowls and also all those letters addresses simply to the mccanns and it will get there.
America does not take wire fraud lightly.

Kate announced that C-R was doing it pro bono.
I doubt it.
What would they get out of it, how would they benefit given  all the allegations against the mccanns and chums, their failure to cooperate with police either by answering questions or taking part in a reconstruction, the mccanns own leaked admissions that Maddie is dead, they know how, who and where and also admitting they hid Maddie really well.
Any good lawyer will question their clients to learn the truth especially if there is a chance of the client being polygraphed.
To defend their client and convince a court and jury they are innocent when they did do the crime(s) they are charged with, they need to know the clients version of events and if the client is guilty beyond doubt, minimize what was done or try and come to a deal.
If C-R did not question the mccanns closely regarding what happened that week, especially the self confessed alleged neglect then they are leaving themselves open to ridicule and perhaps being sued.
Given the mccanns greed, i would not be surprised if they sued their lawyers for giving them bad legal advice or providing poor counsel in court causing them to lose the suits or for advising they sue in the first place.

Could the mccanns (and chums) appeal based on poor counsel?


It is going to get very interesting.

What the has it got to do with Jim Gamble and the CEOP I hear you ask - a very good question indeed.  The only explanation I can offer is the fidelity and personal friendship between the McCanns and Jim Gamble that blossomed over a period of time, so sure was he of their total innocence.  He even went to the trouble of organising an online place for tourists to send their holiday photographs in case they revealed something that might assist the investigation, rather than sending their photographs to the official investigators, the PJ, or the UK liaison force, Leicestershire Constabulary.  Sweet - how thoughtful!

So secret was this police report that they made a video of it, feat. the man himself - Jim Gamble!  I guess the establishment were forced to leak the secret report in order to all those nosey little plebeians asking awkward questions about McCann protectection and consequential mass establishment cover-up.

In the Kate McCann check video she says where the three children were sleeping, why would you say three, I would always say where the children were sleeping.
