Sonia Poulton Loses Libel Preliminary Trial

There has been a preliminary trial on meaning for two of the publications at issue in Hemming v Poulton.
Sonia has been denying they are defamatory for a long while. In fact she denied one of the publications was even about Hemming. That denial she was referring to Hemming (and me) was struck out in May because it contradicted an earlier witness statement of hers which she had signed with a statement of truth.
Judge found 4 / 5 meanings complained of defamatory at common law:

This is only one battle. It does not yet mean Hemming has won the whole case - the next phase before trial would be amending of defences and pleadings. Sonia can try to amend her defence, but she may find this difficult. For example, she will find it hard to prove it is true Hemming tried to have her prosecuted for breach of a court order because someone else gave evidence it was them not Hemming.
Whilst this is like wading through molasses, Sonia is slowly being held to account.
