Kate and Gerry's 2016 Christmas message
we get a mention . . . !
This Christmas marks our tenth without Madeleine. There are no words really. Suffice to say, we will try and make it as happy a family occasion as possible despite being inevitably tinged with pain and longing. The year ahead too is one which we never could have believed or contemplated we would have to face.
Thank you so much to everyone who hasn’t forgotten about Madeleine, for all of your help and continued prayers. The support we continue to have from so many people, friends and strangers, will we’re sure, keep us strong and afloat during the difficult months to come.
Somebody knows. We just hope they find the courage and compassion to let us know too.
We hope your Christmas is a happy one and that 2017 brings hope, joy and peace.
Kate & Gerry

and then a strange use of language. Afloat - can imply financially !
and a clear acknowledgment that Madeleine will not be found in 2017!

That's really weird! Even clicking on the link you provide, the 'official' website still only shows the last update as May 2016 - there is no Christmas message for me . Perhaps they've stuck me behind a paywall or I've been blacklisted - 'enter at your peril'.
Whatever, thanks for keeping us posted, I was beginning to think they'd given up on these pointless heartless annual message to all their supporters for not giving up on Madeleine - like wot they did prior to 3rd May 2007.

Ta muchly!
Hate to think I've missed out on the annual extravaganza from the chez McCann garden shed. Must remember to check out the next edition of 'fund' accounts to see how much public donations are splashing out on website administration.
What do you reckon for the above - price of a plain brown envelope?

Attention seeking scum living off the name of the daughter they murdered. They make me sick and I don't know why the Sun panders to them.

Re: Kate and Gerry's 2016 Christmas message
I'm more interested to know exactly what these difficult months to come are all about. Are they anticipating something worse than they've already experienced, like finding their precious daughter had been abducted on the night of 3rd May 2007 - apparently!
The video interview with Hogan Howe included in this evenings Sun report, is a revelation in it's own right. What a pity DCI Andy Redwood skedaddled when he did, you know how he wallows in a revelation moment. According to Hogan-Howe, when asked why so much attention and money has been ploughed into one isolated case of a missing child, he says 'of course this was the _ _ _(?) of the government, they wanted to fund the Metropolitan Police to make this inquiry.....'
If that be so, then why do various government departments always refer back to Operation Grange, when replying to letters received from Jill, Tony and no doubt PeterMac?

Re: Kate and Gerry's 2016 Christmas message
In early December the Sun on Sunday revealed detectives were following an “important” new lead in the case.
A source said that the new line of inquiry “could provide an explanation on whether Madeleine was abducted and transported away”.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2470791/madeleine-mccann-10-christmas-missing/
----------
Wonder what source that might have been - sounds more like gravy to me.
Hogan-Howe confirms during the video interview that they have a new lead to follow, which pretty well backs up gravy's quote. This again implies justification for continued funding of Operation Grange. No doubt I'm looking for something to criticize but Hogan-Howe is far from convincing in my opinion. He can't even justify the attention and amount of funding allocated to the inquiry/investigation with any conviction.
He's even been knighted - personally, I think he should be publicly de-frocked!

Re: Kate and Gerry's 2016 Christmas message
Is this going to be like the Queen's Christmas broadcast, an annual event embedded in British culture? As usual, Kate and Gerry are not expecting their beloved daughter to be found, and they don't appeal to her to come home. The really strange thing is that they even bother to try keeping up the pretence any more. Presumably, publishing this garbage in the Sun, the nation's most preeminent pedlar of garbage, will bring in some donations from McCann 'believers'.

Afloat is an interesting term and not one they have used before.
it is also interesting given that Peter has said with the right statements he could probably learn where they dumped Maddie.
The mccanns will be aware of his interviews and analysis and i wonder if afloat is leakage of perhaps wwwwhere they dumped Maddie?

I agree, 'afloat' may well have some significance, but i tend to think on this occasion it is related to finances given the imminent ruling from Portugal.Hobs wrote:Afloat is an interesting term and not one they have used before.

That said, water has likely played a part in concealment at some stage, and further analysis by PH would be most welcome.

Kate McCann lays presents in Madeleine's bedroom as she faces her 10th Christmas without her daughter
Kate McCann will lay presents in her daughter Madeleine's bedroom on Christmas morning and hopes one day she will be back home to open them.
A stocking full of gifts will be kept in Maddie's pretty pink room which has remained untouched since she vanished nearly a decade ago.
It has become a shrine to her and is full of photos, drawings, and untouched Christmas and birthday presents.
Mrs McCann's gesture comes after she told how she bitterly misses sharing Maddie's excitement during the festive season and listening to her singing carols.
The anguished mother, who faces her milestone 10th Christmas without her eldest child, said the occasion would be 'tinged with pain and longing.'
She said: 'She should be here and we should be celebrating with her.'

Re: Kate and Gerry's 2016 Christmas message
Hypothetically speaking, even IF Madeleine is still alive, chances of her being auomatically returned to the parents hovers around zero.
Firstly she would be old enough to have a say in her future care, having led another life from the age of three, she probably would have no recollection of her birth parents or her siblings - if brought up by a loving family she would most likely wish to stay with them. Otherwise, if she's been secreted in a remote lair on the Algarve or a Sultan's harem somewhere in the Middle East, she would be so traumatized she'd need psychiatric observation and care for a very very long time.
Besides, to my knowledge she hasn't been pronounced dead by the statutory 'missing persons' criteria so effectively she is still a ward of court. Do they - or Tracey Kandohla - not even understand the basic principles? Do they think the general public are a load of idiots to believe the nonsense they spew forth?
HUMBUG!

@w_nicht #mccann They only had one Christmas all together as a family. 2005, the year the twins were born, Maddie was in Glasgow for Christmas. That only left 2006 Christmas when they were all together.
