Apart from the local police.......would you know who to contact next?
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
I'm just thinking out loud really. As just a 'normal' family, if my child went missing on holiday abroad, apart from the hotel reception and the local police, I'd be struggling who to contact next.
It just seems that a certain family had all very important or relevant contacts/friends. All avenues seem to lead to someone important.
Who would you go to next? Would you follow the same route?

Absolutely right. If your child were abducted, you would be in a state of panic, not knowing what to do. All the support the Mccanns mustered within hours, when they were supposed to be 'non functioning' (Kate's words) is incredible. All evidence of high level support/cover up.

Good question for the sake of a debate.
Initially for a couple of hours say. I'd doubt I'd even ring family members for a couple of reasons at least. 1. Unduly panic them over what could be nothing more than a child going walk-about 2. Clogging your mobile phone with calls in case you get an important one or two from the authorities.

After the hotel / holiday camp staff and the police , I'd be much too busy running around the area, shouting my childs name banging on doors asking locals for help.Thinking of all the places we'd visited in fact anything except phoning family at home , prostrating myself on the floor and swearing at the lady upstairs who might just have seen something !
Not to mention "keeping vigil " and having a sleep while waiting for it to get light !
Is it any wonder people don't believe them !

Diane should have been asked to take charge of all the kids in her apartment- being the largest- thus freeing up all of the tapas 8 to search for Madeleine. And I mean search, not their pathetic idea of searching. they could have all borrowed torches and gathered locals and holidaymakers together and searched all night. How could anyone actually consider going to bed when their 3 year old was missing? Most wouldn't if their dog was missing let alone a child.
Kneeling on the floor and wailing would achieve absolutely nothing, neither wonder the local police were totally bemused.
