Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

I don't know where to begin...
But has no-one on the editorial team pointed out that since the child in the story was taken 18 years ago, how ON EARTH can she be be their 'Madeleine McCann' when Madeleine disappeared nine years ago? Gormless.And cynical.

They are of course not comparing like with like.
The abduction of a baby only 3 days old from a hospital which presumably had staff moving around and her mom nearby rather than a deserted hospital with just her, her mom and perhaps some obligatory medical psychopath.
Whereas Maddie was almost 4 and allegedly left home along babysitting her young siblings whilst her parents were getting pissed in a tapas bar over 100 yards away (i don't buy the neglect claim)
The only thing they have in common is that they were both female.
Presumably as soon as any female child goes missing/abducted (allegedly or otherwise) they will be names (insert location/country) Maddie.
Will doing a Maddie be in the upcoming OED?
Come to think of it, will doing a mccann (faking abduction/conning the gullible public etc) be in a future OED?

Why now? - Because there is a dramatic new twist to this tale.
The girl who was stolen at 3 days old from her rightful parents has now turned against them, having initially been overjoyed, it seemed, to have discovered her real parents and real sister.
The parents have had a lifetime of heartache, then a brief period of joy when they found their daughter after 18 years, only for their tragic story to continue with the girl's apparent rejection of them.
It is surely too much injustice for most people to bear - I pray they will get strength in this situation and for a happy outcome for everyone except the abductors.

I just hope that some idiot detective or journalist isn't contemplating a Maddie found alive and happy but doesn't want to come home tale. Ridiculous I know, but most of these McCann reports are.

"South Africa's Madeleine McCann" so the UK press speak of a little girl whose abduction not only took place years before Madeleine's disappearance but has absolutely nothing in common with the case.
So, let's blame it on the gutter press drumming it all up to sell a story?
How is Jimmy no flags doing nowadays? This would be Jim Gamble who depicted himself on a podium speaking into a microphone betwixt the Union Flag and the Stars and Stripes which he later removed and now keeps a dedicated photograph of Table Mountain on his twitter account but mostly posts photographs about Ireland - no mention of the reason for the South Africa photo - well apart from the fact he has associates in South Africa - his business is associate based. This is the business that works within the educational system of UK. I'd love to see how JG's associate based business tenders for work/is selected.

ETA: How can the independent Chair of Hackney Council also run a business (associate based) billing councils across the country for his company's services?
