The two mums were stunned to receive the Stephen Wynard Award from the Charity Missing People at a gala event attended by Bob Geldof at London's BT Tower this week.

The award recognises people who, “despite having been affected themselves, volunteer their time for free to make a difference for all missing children and their families."

Both Kate and Coral have been supporting the charity's Child Rescue Alert campaign, which is aimed at getting as many people as possible to register to receive free text alerts when a child goes missing and is believed to be in imminent danger.

Since Kate launched the campaign in The Sun, over 35,000 people have signed up to the system, bringing the total number in the UK to over 350,000.

Receiving her award Kate, 47, from Rothley, Leicestershire, said: "Child Rescue Alert is all about encouraging communities to recognise the power they have to help others right on their doorsteps.

“It’s heartening that so many communities of neighbours, schools and colleagues have registered for this system.
“Child Rescue Alert relies on its ability to reach a vast number of people, so we need to spread the word further and get more people signed up. This is where everyone can help."

Coral, 44, whose daughter April, 5, was abducted and murdered in October 2012, was overwhelmed by the award, saying: “I’m pleased to have received this award tonight. I want to do as much as I can to make sure no family experiences the pain we still go through.

“I’ve worked hard to try and make sure that if the worst happens, other families and other children will have the chance that April didn’t have."

Bob Geldof is co-founder of Groupcall, which provides the technology behind Child Rescue Alert.
Sir Bob urged Sun readers to sign up to receive the alerts, saying: “It’s a no-brainer. If your child went missing and their life was in immediate danger, you would want to get the message out in minutes. If you care about children’s safety, please sign up today."

Kate McCann receives an award for neglecting her kids until one goes missing, never to been again? Kate McCann who did naff all to help the investigation into the disappearance of her own daughter. Kate McCann who admitted to journalist Jane Hill that she didn't physically search for Madeleine when she went missing who then became an Ambassador for Missing People?

Will Jimmy Saville get his knighthood reinstated next?

It's now only a matter of time before The McCanns get their Lord and Lady titles.

This must be a joke, only I don't know of anyone who is laughing about the McCanns and this very sick scam.

Words fail me, they really do.

Dedication to 'missing children' - just not her own for now she's subjecting her remaining children to the most horrendous abuse by using them when she sees fit still for the sake of trying to save her own skin, not theirs.

That's the exact look I had on my face when I read that!

What's next, round us all up and implant our memories???

Reads to me as though this charity puts a lot on Heroes and Awards.

I would not accept an award for helping others, but as we have often been told - We are all different.

A great help,  I believe, would be to donate the remaining money in the Fund to help aid the search for other missing children.   Imagine the award that would be presented if that were to happen.

It's a shame that Coral Jones is linked with Kate McCann. Is Coral, who genuinely did lose her daughter to a paedophile, not aware of the lies and deception of Kate McCann and those who protect and promote her in order to cover up the death of her daughter?

For one example look at SaVILE who was boxed and dispatched before we knew anything. As you said, congrats. to Coral Jones. This other ''mother'' deserves NOTHING. She NEVER SEARCHED for her own daughter on the night she went ''missing'' because she new it was pointless. This is the ''mother'' who made her daughter a ward of court, thus discarding all responsibility for her, This is the ''mother'' who refused to co-operate with Portuguese police and REFUSED to answer 48 questions then freely ADMITTED to hampering the investigation by not doing so. I could go on for a week but I'm starting to feel SICK...

I have seen two pictures this morning, one of Bob Geldof standing in front of the usual advertising screen with KM & Coral Jones holding their awards, little glass CD sized things, and the other of the two of them sitting in a fairly sparsely populated room, presumably listening to the awards speeches, but both seem to have disappeared.

Doug, I believe it's a misspelling of "Stephen Winyard", as no such person with the name "Stephen Wynard" can be found.

I see the article has been removed from the sun's fb page but I did see a close up photo of Kate McCann and it looks like the stress has taken it's toll.  Her right eye doesn't look good and there is a haunted look about her.  All the awards in the world won't free her from the tussle going on in her head.

So what exactly has Kate McCann done to deserve such a prestigious (?) award?  I don't think she's done anything apart from tag her name to the charity as an ambassador.  She didn't even launch the Child Rescue Alert campaign - The Sun did it using her name to promote the initiative.

Still the murky Murdoch empire is right up there keeping the fantasy alive so not all hope is lost.

I write to you with a query regarding one of your so called “Ambassadors” of a supposed charity supporting all kinds of work relating to missing children, namely Kate McCann/Healy.

By the dictionary definition an ambassador is “a representative or promoter of a specified activity”. Now with this in mind and considering the name and purpose of your charity don’t you find it at all odd and possibly disturbing (as I do) that you have an ambassador of your charity who has the following coincidences hanging over their reputation and supposed innocence:

1) Willingly and knowingly left 3 children all under the age of 4 in an apartment for days on end whilst they and a group of parents wined and dined (If you believe that an actual abduction took place that is).
2) One of these children (Madeleine) was reported missing during one of these nights – Admitted neglect!
3) The apartment of Kate McCann and husband contained the smell of a human corpse / human cadaver odour in over 10 locations.
4) Items of your ambassador Kate McCann/Healy’s clothing had the same human cadaver odour on them.
5) It is documented and confirmed fact that no-one had died in the apartment prior to the McCann’s taking residence of apartment 5a.
6) The same human cadaver odour was detected in the McCann’s hired Renault Scenic over 3 weeks after their missing child was reported missing.
7) Blood and DNA traces were recovered from several matching locations of the human cadaver odour within apartment 5a and the McCann’s hire car which were confirmed as matching the same DNA profile of their missing child!
8) Kate McCann/Healy did not search for her daughter.
9) Kate McCann/Healy refused to participate in a reconstruction.
10) Kate McCann/Healy refused to answer 48 Police questions and was not bothered if this behaviour made the Police suspicious of her.
11) Kate McCann is still seen on video stating clearly “the shutters were jemmied open, I’m not lying about that”. It is physically and forensically proved that the shutters were not tampered with at all. Another lie!
12) The only full fingerprint found anywhere on the windows were of Kate McCann/Healy, and on the inside of the window. Yet more evidence of a blatantly obvious staged abduction.
13) The same Kate McCann/Healy who complained that a Police car was “going to fast” while taking her to a possible sighting of her missing child.
14) The same Kate McCann/Healy who has in tandem with other members of the “tapas” party had several Police statement contradictions and anomalies.
15) The same Kate McCann/Healy who wrote a book which offers an altogether different set of circumstances and scenarios.
16) The Same Kate McCann/Healy who decided to wash her daughters favourite soft toy after she was reported missing. This toy later went on to have confirmed human cadaver odour on. Who or what was the source – Madeleine’s corpse or direct from Kate McCann/Healy – Your ambassador!
17) There is much more available for the worldwide population to see, read and view such as the Official Portuguese Police files which were released in August 2008. Coincidentally of which your ambassador spent circa £100,000 of the British public’s money translating them into English but not releasing them. Instead they have gagged the media with money and influence from the British Establishment from printing awareness of these files. What is it your supposedly innocent ambassador wants to hide from everyone?

So with everything above and the vast quantities of other information available online which correlates with the conclusion that Madeleine McCann died very early on during their holiday, the parents are directly implicated and involved in the subsequent disposal and cover up of her corpse and have made an absolute fortune with the aid of British public donations into a private LTD company which has never made any attempt to look for Madeleine but instead employed known fraudsters and money launderers, is this the kind of person that should be a “figurehead” of a missing children’s charity? 

If so you have a very strange set of criteria for such positions.
1) Who “gave” her this position?
2) Why did you install her into this position?
3) How can you justify publicising Kate McCann receiving another award for God knows what next to an actual heroic mother in Coral Jones, whose daughter tragically really was abducted and murdered is beyond belief.
4) Given your very strange criteria for an ambassadors role will you be posthumously be granting an ambassadors role for the likes of Jimmy Saville etc??
5) As per the dictionary definition above, what exactly is Kate McCann here to promote for your charity? How to get away with child neglect?, How to get away with being involved in your child’s disappearance? How to make millions from your missing child? (These previous questions are thoughts and opinions of my own).

The British public deserve to know why this “parent” is constantly being shoved down our throats in the media when ALL of the available evidence more than implicates your precious ambassador Kate McCann/Healy.

The same scent that was only in the McCann's apartment, only in the McCann's hire car, the same apartment and hire car from where blood/dna was extracted and was confirmed to have matched Madeleine's DNA profile. The same apartment which was confirmed to have had NO prior deaths in before Kate and Gerry took residence in April 2007. This is the same mother who REFUSED to answer 48 questions during the Police's search for their daughter, of which incidentally Kate McCann DID NOT search for Madeleine! In the same interview she confirmed that by not answering the questions she would only raise suspicion about her - She wasn't bothered! This is the mother who lied and is still on video saying "the shutters were jemmied open, I'm not lying about that" - It is a forensically and physically proven fact that the shutters were not tampered with in any way! In fact the ONLY full fingerprint found on the window was from?? Yep you guessed it Kate McCann and only from INSIDE the apartment - More proof of a staged abduction!
