Sad, innit?
I'm sure, though, their £millions, in their private Madeleine's 'search' Fund, will 'soothe' and 'comfort' them, and 'ease' their 'pain', don't you?.

No 'photo's' of the 'cheering' Gerry, to greet Kate, at the Tower of London, from the huge, assembled, 'press pack' then?
Maybe Exclusiff 'pics' will exclusively publish 'some' later!
When they have 'photo shopped' Kate and Gerry to 'looking', well, er, umm............'all sad', 'thinking' of their missing Madeleine, but not, actually 'searching' for their 'missing' Madeleine.

Judy Finnigan on Radio5 live - around 14.30 - 14.50 on McCann, PdL etc. warbling on about the terrible abduction. Perhaps possible to listen again?
What is it with the news? Sun with ten children 'found' by Kate. Plus sugary article.
Is this a big PR push?

Paula `s story is incredible... yesterday I got themselves a Lexus LS400 from having made $9785 this month and just a little over ten/k this past month . it's certainly the nicest-job Ive ever had . She should have shown the same commitment in caring for her children or searching for Madeleine.

Whilst it is a harsh comment. The truth resonates, parents negligence played as much part in her disappearance as the perpetrator. I firmly believe criminal charges would have been brought against them for this negligence should they not have 'lost' there child.

Disgraceful comments on Madeleine's mum!
Do you three (thegfella, victor
& nnss) all sit and watch your kids all night JUST IN CASE someone
comes to take them?!? And isn't she still regretting not having gone back to check on Madeleine even more frequently. Absolutely heartless you are.
Who was it who said:-"Let he who is without sin . . ."?

Have you even thought about what you typed before posting?
"And isn't she still regretting not having gone back to check on Madeleine even more frequently." - She should be regretting the fact that she left her alone at all.
You don't have to sit and watch your kids all night, just stay in the same house/apartment/hotel room.
I have heard many, many people comment on how those poor parents must be feeling, but I can't recall hearing anyone point out how Madeleine must be feeling.

efcblue1878 kristof • 3 hours ago
Don't know if you have kids, kristof. But from the moment they're born you make calculated decisions on how much leaway you can give them. They were in holiday resort (not in a big city train station), left the 2 kids inside a locked bedroom, checked every 30 minutes (i recall) from the dining area 30 yards away. But they could have stayed in the room with them.
Would YOU have stayed every night in the room, as I say, just in case?
That's why I'm sure they will still be regretting not having done more.
Logic efcblue1878 • 3 hours ago
YES! Simple as - you forfeit the right to go drinking in the night with friends when you take your toddler and babies with you!! I have a 2 year old son and I will not be leaving him in the apartment whilst I have a jolly 10 yards away let alone 30 when I am on holiday! A locked room... with a window open! They where abandoned end of. Clearly they could not see all access points that's if it wasn't them who did it. How her parents have never been prosecuted I don't know.
1 • Reply•Share ›
efcblue1878 Logic • 3 hours ago
And that's where we differ. I don't think they were negligent. You do.
We're all human and make mistakes as they did - hence the regret.
Scandalous of you to imply 'they' did it, though, with no evidence.
Logic efcblue1878 • 3 hours ago
There was as much evidence to suggest they where involved as to suggest they wasn't. Hence why there where named as 'arguidos'. You seem to have read up on the case or do you ignore these parts to justify your biased opinion. The fact is had Madeleine not went missing, they would have faced criminal charges for leaving them alone - a quick internet search reveals that. It was decided that there daughter being missing was enough punishment. The evidence was small and not enough to proceed down the route of a trial but none the less it was there. That's why I 'imply'.
efcblue1878 Logic • 3 hours ago
With the massive press investigation lasting months, had there been any genuine evidence, they would have been hung out to dry and I like you would have agreed with that. There wasn't any.
Logic Logic • 3 hours ago
To be clear are you actually saying you would have left a toddler and 2 babies in a locked room with a window open that you did not have a visual of in a foreign country, whilst you dined with friends in the night. ONLY checking every 30 mins?
efcblue1878 Logic • 3 hours ago
Not with a window left open - of course not.
We brought up both our kids up with foreign holidays safely and vigilantly, while socialising with sensible precautions.
And my view isn't biased - I've no connection with them. Believe they could have done more as we all can. But hindsight is 20:20. If only . . .
Logic efcblue1878 • 3 hours ago
I by no means wish to exert my view as the right view on anyone - that's the type of stuff that causes wars. We clearly have a different view and whilst I respect yours, I don't agree with it. I certainly am not telling anyone how to raise there kids. I merely state that window open or not, locked or not. I wouldn't leave my child/ren in a room in any situation when I am not in that building as such.

She might be fed up with Kate, but I doubt she will openly bail out.
She has a husband to protect

Missing People bike ride
It seems to me that this event was for publicity, not for fund raising. The registration fees of £199 wouldn't cover the costs of the event, so some of the minimum of £2,000 must be to pay RidetoRaise. The type of hotel they stayed in would cost around £50 bed and breakfast. Lunch perhaps £10 and dinner £20. So £ 80 per day per rider. Fuel for one support car to Edinburgh and back around £ 200. Minimum of two RidetoRaise staff accompanying, who wouldn't be paying their own expenses.
Looking just at those I have found there was Team Mccann of three plus the CIL team of six and another team of four. Add two RidetoRaise staff, the cost would be £6,200. In addition the two staff were probably paid, plus there would be a charge for the police escort over London Bridge, cost of spares, some charge for depreciation on the car and a profit for RidetoRaise. Say £1,500 as a very conservative estimate.
Total cost £7,700. Total registration Fees £199 x 13 = £2,587. Costs to deduct from Funds raised £5,113.
Team McCann (KM, JM & FW) have raised £16,056 of a £14,000 target (of course they're experts)
Team CIL have raised £5,060 of a £9,000 target (if they don't meet the minimum charities have been known to chase people for the money)
Team of 4 have raised £7163 of a £8,000 target.
Total raised to date £28,279 plus gift aid approx £6,787=£35,066
I think I saw somewhere that £40,000 was raised for Missing People. If so, I suspect that was before RidetoRaise were paid.
Apologies if my figures are out, I have a terrible calculator and need a new one (anyone care to start a justgiving page for me ha ha)

Re: ***Missing People Bike Ride now under way (Kate McCann, Simon Cowell and Stephen Fry back Missing People campaign on Twitter)
G Unit:
‘The type of hotel they stayed in would cost around £50 bed and breakfast.’
And the rest!
Park Inn, York which is where KM did her TV bit from, cheapest B&B is £98 per night and that’s the ‘economy’ room.
Dinner, bed & breakfast £138.00
Might get a bit off for a bulk booking, or if they slummed it sharing rooms, but probably ‘zlebs’ would want their own rooms, if not ‘better’ more expensive ones, with a river view!

@ G Unit, there was also the cost of hiring The Orchard Room at the Tower of London (World Heritage Site), plus refreshments, for the reception.
I don't know the cost, I did look on the website a few weeks ago but no info was provided.

As a cycling enthusiast, Dorking to Edinburgh was the perfect event to challenge my cycling abilities. The organisation exceeded all my expectations and the quality of accommodation we enjoyed was just superb. The fact that we enjoyed the comfort of our own rooms exceeded any event I’ve ever taken part it. The ride was an experience to be cherished and I’ve made friends for life.
Adrian Mann, Dorking
Ride2Raise was extremely well organised and I felt proud to be part of the event. Looking forward to next year!

MISSING PEOPLE
I make the assumption that the £ 2000 is absorbed by the company, to be spend on all the 'stuff', before a single centimo is raised for the Charity itself.

Sponsoring someone must be the least efficient way of donating to a charity. Much better to donate directly.

Not necessarily @mysterion. Some, particularly smaller charities ask that all costs are met by the participants, even foreign endeavours like cycling across the Gobi desert!

And 'professional' tin rattlers, not the volunteers, take a good cut of what they collect.
As for the 'street muggers' who try and get you to sign up, they take a big slice from at least your initial payments in commission, as do the employed fund raisers who phone up regularly to try and get you to increase anything you were daft enough to get conned into in the first place.
If you look into many Charities accounts, a lot are far worse than MP I am sorry to say, with everything going to the CEO and a few staff and virtually nothing to the 'good causes' they are allegedly fund raising for.
Every week I shred at least 3 or 4 begging letters from assorted Charities which are sent to my father, as he has clearly been identified as a 'soft touch' on the mailing register, which they obviously pass round amongst themselves. If I am not quick enough, he will have posted off another cheque, which he cannot afford, and will justify it to me with 'but they are such a good cause'!
There must be hundreds of thousands of 'dopy old buggers' like him being defrauded in this way.
