Where is M Brunt?

Surely the Sky News 'super sleuth' MUST have 'tracked/hunted down/outed' at least ONE of the 1,082 ''non believing, trolls' that have donated to GA's lawyers 'fund', by NOW?

THERE must be, amongst, the 1,082 donators, a 'vulnerable, female, pensioner' he HAS 'door stepped' since the 'fund' was set up, 16 days ago.

WHERE ARE YOU, BRUNT?

Come round to 'interview' me, if you like!

(I say 'female' because Mr Brunt dosen't appear to be too 'keen' to door step, 6' 3" 'non believing, troll/GA 'fund' donating' MEN!)

Fund now more than £17,500 Empty Re: Fund now more than £17,500

Post by Guest 24.05.15 23:14

Has anybody researched the background of Leanne Baulch?

I won't be very popular for saying this but I'm very hesitant to hand over money to an unknown entity.  If I could be assured, without shadow of doubt, that a bone fide fund had been set up to assist Dr. Amaral I wouldn't hesitate but I'm reluctant to consider contributing via a young lady that suddenly appears in cyberworld, out of nowhere, encouraging people to donate, promising to transfer all money raised to another destination.

Even established charities are up to jiggery-pokery, it's asking a lot to put trust in an unknown person picked up on the internet.

If Tony Bennet can be persuaded it's OK, surely you can too?

I have today been advised that all funds raised via this site will go direct to the PJGA fund for Dr Amaral's legal expenses and am pleased to make a modest contribution for these reasons: 1. It is intolerable that anyone accused of libel should have to wait nearly 6 years from the date of service of a writ (June 2009 in this case) for a verdict 2. The verdict by the Lisbon court last month was perverse. Both the Portuguese Appeal Court (October 2010) and the Portuguese Supreme Court (March 2011) held that Dr Amaral's book was a legitimate use of his right to freedom of expression, under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and as a result they allowed his book to be sold, overturning an earlier ban. The Lisbon court should have followed their decisions 3. Dr Amaral has good prospects for success in his appeal, given the previous Appeal & Supreme Court decisions 4. 99% of his book is based on information in the files of the Portuguese Police which in any event has already been in the public domain since July 2008, and all of which can conveniently be accessed via the mccannpjfiles website 5. The McCanns have been able to afford the best lawyers that money can buy to pursue various defensive and offensive legal actions. By contrast, Dr Amaral has had substantial proportions of his captal and income impounded by the state. I hope that the money raised by this appeal will enable him to afford a good quality and influential lawyer

Why are you still poking at this with a stick Verdi, it's already been explained.

If you don't wish to contribute then don't...or are you just being obtuse?

Are you suggesting that Leanne Baulch is possibly bogus and will do a runner with the money?

I would have expected that from a reporter in UK Press, a member of TM or a pink person.

Give over Verdi.

ETA: Where is Rosalinda Hutton's contribution in her own name to Goncalo Amaral's Fund. It doesn't matter if it's a penny or a pound. Where is it? Rosalinda Hutton has written two blogs in the last week and yet still no contribution.

I apologise to the forum for grasping to this like a terrier with a bone, but where does Rosalinda Hutton stand on her support for Goncalo Amaral and the fund...or is she just now given to being a 'media' person and observing from the sidelines in the event of a forthcoming documentary.

I didn't know it had already been explained, I googled and searched on this forum but couldn't find anything that answered my simple question, hence my post.  No I'm not being obtuse, I am interested and thought it a reasonable question.  Although I would never have supported it even if I thought it was genuine, the Find Madeleine Fund is a perfect example of my point as regards doubting authenticity.

Still as you say it's my choice whether or not I contribute so I'll say no more on the subject.

I cannot ignore this. Leanne is a personal friend and a lovely young woman. It is your choice whether you contribute to helping towards legal fees for GA but please stop trying to cast doubt about Leanne.

Shades of McCann tactics here, I think.  I am sure there is at least one person on their payroll dedicated to discrediting anything that might alleviate the desperate plight of Goncalo Amaral.  Surely anyone genuinely in doubt about Leanne's fund would find their way to the PJGA website to check out what they had to say, and then there would be no need to raise any doubts in public.

Ashwarya, I resent that comment if directed at me, which it appears very much to be as I'm the one that asked a question.

For your information I have no allegiance with the McCann faction in any way shape or form.  If as a member you care to check my profile statistics,  past comments should clarify exactly where I stand on the subject!  I have read the link you posted and I'm totally aware of Dr. Amaral's plight resulting from the McCanns avaricious, evil and vindictive motives.  That has nothing to do with my orignal question.

I said I wasn't going to speak on the subject again but I won't be subjcted to false unfounded insinuations without defending myself.  I find it deeply offensive to be accused of being associated with the McCann support network.   Nina has now made the position clear, I have no desire to continue the subject.  Be assured I meant no malice.

As an aside, I taken great pains in the past to defend this forum against unreasonable accusations of having an agenda or being a closed shop or people not being welcome unless they toe the line or being closet McCann'ites - please don't give me cause to regret supporting you guys.

But perhaps not everyone, and by that i am talking about relatively new posters to the forum, or posters that hardly ever post on here, would be aware of the PJGA website seeing as it was set up some years ago? I wasn't aware of it myself until a while ago, and joined here a few years ago. And some people are just very sketch about giving their personal details to donate money to anything and err on the side of caution. Just my 2cents worth.

I think it is also silly to think that there's a McC shill around every corner, comes across as being a bit paranoid IMO.

verdi please don't take this the wrong way and apologies if I have got it wrong, but I thought you posted last week that you were fairly new to the case and that is why you and others were asking questions which had been "done to death" in the past because you wanted to quickly to gain as much knowledge as possible.

I disagree joss.   Verdi made a post which might have been taken to mean that Leanne B could not be trusted and posters are entitled to take issue with the post if they think necessary.

If verdi, in your opinion, does not need to justify his/herself then why does Leanne B?

There is a very prominent thread on the site about the fund set up for Goncalo Amaral and I cannot see how it could be missed in search.   Many threads/posts are difficult to find but this is such a recent thread even I would be able to find it and I am absolutely useless with search.

No, I've followed the case since May 2007 but I've never been a seasoned member (as in long term) of any membership only fora, I have spasmodically posted on various blogs.  For privacy and my own peace of mind I'd rather not be more specific, past experience has taught me to be very cautious in that respect.  My previous comment you mention only related to past discussions on this forum (which I admit to finding hard to navigate sometimes), I don't spend a great deal of my time on the internet so I'm a bit retarded on many issues.

I was a member of this forum (can't recall how long for) as admin will no doubt be aware but I left because I was disgusted with the way certain now departed members turned against the forum.  Just for the record I returned under a different user name.

Verdi, IMO you don't need to justify yourself. Its a public forum, not a courtroom, lol, don't worry about it, i for one enjoy posting with you and look forward to reading your well thought out posts, :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence but I'm beginning to lose the will to live.  I'm going down the boozer at least they know I'm the genuine article!

Fund now more than £17,500 Empty Re: Fund now more than £17,500

plebgate wrote:I disagree joss.

Neither Verdi or Leanne B have to justify themselves IMO. There is some derogatory stuff i have read about LB online, twitter i think a while back when she started the gofundme, but i have no clue about her really. Other people say they do know her, and that she's a good person, and that's fine. We all know how the internet can be though. I think she has stuck her neck out for GA and good for her to help him, because he needs some back up i'm sure with the ongoing fiasco that is the McCann case. I wish them both every success with their venture, and hope that GA's appeal is successful.

Hey Verdi, don't you be thinking like that now. I am a survivor and if i can find the will to live so can you. I have been through it and sometimes don't know why i am still here, but i am, and there is a reason. Have a drink for me too while you are there, take care. empathy

Back on topic.

After the bank holiday and pay day for many the end of the week.   Maybe the target will be reached then.

Fund now more than £17,500 Empty Re: Fund now more than £17,500

Post by Jill Havern 25.05.15 17:15

Some people may not be aware of who Leanne Baulch is, especially if they don't use Facebook or Twitter - many of us do know who she is because we use facebook and can see which groups she is a member of, mine being one of them, so isn't it only right that questions are asked about someone who suddenly sets up a fund asking for £25k when there is already the PJGA fund in existence for the very same purpose?

In Verdi's defence he doesn't know Leanne and clearly wasn't aware of LG's explanation about the Fund so I don't think it's unreasonable to have doubts and ask questions [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I didn't have any doubts at all about donating via that site as I know Leanne, and I recognised many familiar names who were also donating, and am very pleased she set it up as it's easier (for me, anyway) to donate there than the PJGA site and it's fantastic to see the total going up (so fast!!) - nearly £21,000 in just 26 days!

Some of the money donated to Leanne's gofundme site has already been transferred to the PJGA Fund account and kazlux from MaddieCaseFiles forum has written a thank you note: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Hopefully this issue has now been resolved.

Thankyou for the clarification Get'emGoncalo. Certainly don't do FB or Twitter, but sometimes read the twitter feed. Good to know all is legit for those not sure.
