Madeleine McCann dumped in lake (Daily Mirror) and EXPRESS 30 Nov - 3 witesses to be questioned who arrived on the scene soon after Maddie was abducted
Looks like the latest spin in #McCann case is that the PJ ignored a tip-off that Madeleine was dumped in a lake.
I imagine that the tip off came from someone associated Metodo 3 who seemed to leading the PJ away from the truth

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] found the letter in the doorway of apartment 5A, where Madeleine vanished, on the first anniversary of her disappearance.
The handyman, who we are not naming but was formerly employed by the holiday resort, immediately handed in the note to the police in May 2008.
He described the letter as being headed: “Madeleine Beth McCann”, with a description below of how she had been dumped in the Barragem da Bravura reservoir, nine miles from the holiday resort.
He said: “It was raining that night so it was soaking wet when I found it. It clearly said Madeleine’s name at the top. It was written in Portuguese.
“Beneath it was a location for what it claimed was her final resting place.
“I spoke to the other staff about it and they said to hand it in to the Portuguese police. I gave it to them, but I have no idea what they did about it.
“It would be the perfect place to hide a body

Bag of small bones found in reservoir where lawyer claims Madeleine McCann's body was dumped

Divers searching a reservoir for Madeleine McCann yesterday found a plastic bag containing small bones.
Police experts were last night examining the gruesome find at the lake only 20 minutes from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz, where Madeleine - three at the time - disappeared last May.
Her parents Gerry and Kate McCann were told immediately by a private detective monitoring the search. Portuguese lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia, who sponsored the dive, says he was acting on an underworld tip-off that Madeleine was murdered and her body thrown in a lake within 48-hours of being snatched.

Police divers were last night preparing to trawl a reservoir in the hunt for Madeleine McCann.
Detectives believe her body may have been weighed down with rocks and dumped in the Barragem de Bravua lake nine miles from Praia De Luz.
The search is one of a series to be carried out in the next few days, a Portuguese newspaper claimed yesterday.
The operations will centre on an area within a 10-mile radius of the Ocean Club apartment from where Madeleine disappeared on May 3, aged three.
Under the orders of Paulo Rebelo, who now heads the investigation, search teams will also comb a three-mile stretch of beaches and rugged coastline between Praia da Luz and Burgau.
And mobile phone trackers will be bought in to pinpoint the movements of Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry, and their friends in the days after she vanished.

Who released this shit to the Daily Mirror?
This morning I thought 'when will there be another sighting?" I thought it because there can't be.
So here is the equivalent of a sighting. All leaked by whom?

Looks like this video was filmed secretly too.

NO, this is a different story, about a different dam.
The story you refer to is about the searches made by lying lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia at the Arade Dam (different dam) in January and March 2008, about which I've written extensively

Can the fund only be considered fraudulent if it is proven the McCanns (or anyone involved with running it) knew that Madeleine was dead? If SY build a case that a burglar killed Maddie and dumped her body...surely that would let the McCanns & co off the hook in more ways than one?

SY would first have to have some solid forensic evidence linking that person/s to Madeleine's death.
If Madeleine's remains are ever recovered they would be skeletonised by now i would imagine, especially if her remains are recovered from water. But if she did receive a fractured skull or any other fractures i think they would be able to see that on the bones, and if that was the case they might then be able to determine a cause of death. Then hopefully forensic evidence would be able to tie in to possibly what happened to her.
There is already forensic evidence from the cadaver and blood detected in the McC holiday apartment and in the hire car, clothing etc.

She is an alive, findable child, living the dream with a kind childless couple.
The DM have harmed this search and should be sued immediately.
They should, given the Season that is approaching, make a generous out of court settlement to the fund/limited company. A million might help ease the pain. After all, they had expected a boost courtesy of Snr Amaral by now, but as usual the useless Portugese courts messed that up.
Imo.

Exactly, SY simply can't explain away the burglar theory. When it takes (roughly) at least an hour and a half for cadaver odour to permeate.
IMO the investigation about the lake, isn't about searching the lake as reported years ago. It's about who sent the note and why exactly.

As far as I know Barragem do Bravura has not been searched before in connection to MM. Barragem do Arade was searched in 2008. A search instigated and paid for by Marcos Aragao Correia.

Madeleine McCann's family 'would welcome' fresh search of lake close to holiday resort where she vanished amid claims her body may have been dumped there
Rain-sodden letter found on first anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance
Note was discovered outside room where three-year-old vanished in 2007

Letter immediately given to police but underwater search 'never took place'

Madeleine McCann's family say they 'would welcome' a fresh search of a man-made lake close to the holiday resort where the three-year-old was taken, amid claims her body may have been dumped there.
A rain-sodden letter reportedly discovered outside the room from which she vanished on the first anniversary of her disappearance contained details of what it claimed was her final resting place.
A handyman who discovered the note is said to have immediately handed it to the Portuguese police, but it is understood that a full underwater search of the Barragem da Bravura reservoir - which lies nine miles from the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz - has never been carried out.
Despite the claims made in the letter, there remains no evidence to suggest Madeleine is dead, and her parents Gerry and Kate McCann still cling to the hope that she will one day be found alive.
The letter containing allegations relating to Madeleine's disappearance was discovered by a handyman on the rain-soaked doorstep of the Ocean Club's room 5A - the room from which Madeleine went missing - according to the Mirror.
It was found on the the night of May 3, 2008 - a year to the day of Madeleine's disappearance.
The letter is understood to have been headed 'Madeleine Beth McCann' but otherwise written in Portuguese. It reportedly started with a description of her being dumped in the Barragem da Bravura reservoir which it described as her 'final resting place'.
'I spoke to the other staff about it and they said to hand it in to the Portuguese police. I gave it to them, but I have no idea what they did about it,' the handyman told the newspaper.
He went on to describe Barragem da Bravura as 'the perfect place to hide a body'.

The woodland area surrounding the reservoir is understood to have been searched several months before the emergence of the letter but no underwater investigation was carried out.
Following the discovery of the note, a two-hour second search was carried out using sniffer dogs, but eyewitnesses reportedly claim that police divers were still not deployed.
A spokesperson for Kate and Gerry McCann said they would 'welcome' any new searches of the Barragem da Bravura and the surrounding woodland.
Clarence Mitchell said: 'Kate and Gerry will be informed of what this witness is telling the Daily Mirror.
'We would welcome any new searches. But they cannot comment on any specific detail as that is entirely a matter for Operation Grange and the Portuguese authorities.'
Last week a Portuguese newspaper claimed that police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann want to question British ex-pat Robert Murat.
Scotland Yard detectives want to speak to several potential witnesses including Mr Murat, who was previously questioned by Portuguese police after Madeleine vanished in 2007 just before her fourth birthday, the newspaper Jornal de Noticias reported.
Mr Murat, 41, who has always denied any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance, said neither he nor his lawyer had been contacted by police, but said he would co-operate if contacted.
Mr Murat was named as an arguido – a person of interest or suspect - during the Portuguese investigation seven years ago, as were Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann.
All three were later cleared when the Portuguese investigation ended in 2008.
Scotland Yard launched its own investigation and its inquiry team travelled to Praia da Luz to conduct searches and observe Portuguese police interviews.

Madeleine: Police Divers To Trawl Reservoir
Sky News 12:40, UK, Monday 15 October 2007
A reservoir is being scoured by specialist police divers as the hunt for Madeleine McCann intensifies.
Detectives are said to be preparing to search a 10-mile area around Praia da Luz, where the child vanished on May 3.
The hunt is also focusing on the Barragem da Bravura reservoir, which is around 15 miles away from the Algarve resort.
Paulo Rebelo, the man who is now heading the investigation, has ordered his officers to search the 2.5 mile-wide reservoir.
His investigators are also set to comb a three-mile stretch of coastline and beaches near Praia da Luz.
A spokesman for Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry McCann said: "Any widening of the search area is encouraging and we welcome it."
The previous investigation team was criticised for not searching properly for Madeleine, who went missing shortly before her fourth birthday.
Mr Rebelo has assembled a team of specialist detectives to boost the investigation, including two murder experts.
Portuguese newspaper Diario De Noticias claimed the search areas were related to mobile phone calls made by Madeleine's parents and their friends.

This reminds me of something I read...
But I am not sure where--wondering if anyone else has a similar recollection? I usually read this site for info. on the case, but I also have read much of the files and GA's book, and some other blogs & Web sites here and there. It seems that not too long ago I read a description of Kate telling some kind of investigator/reporter/??? that it would not be a good idea (not in so many words, but it seemed she was averse to the idea) to investigate a certain area--I think the area was indeed a body of water not too far from their apt. I noted her comment at the time b/c obviously it would seem to suggest that one should indeed search the area in question. I know this is very vague, but I'm wondering if any other readers of this forum have come across this incident? I will continue to try to find where I read it and will repost if I can.

Nicked from elsewhere
What sort of parents would "Welcome" a search for the decomposing or disarticulated body of their eldest child.
"WELCOME" is the word they are said to have used - (Though it was probably Goebells-chell )
How many other ways could it have been put
"Parents accept that this has to be done in an effort to find the truth
Parents fearful and under great stress as they await the results
Parents resigned to the fact that all avenues have to be explored'
But no. We are told they WELCOME
verb [ trans. ]
. . .
• react with pleasure or approval to (an event or development)

The type who know there will be nothing found there and it's a very 'welcome' diversion.

]Earlier a police expert wearing white protective gloves had examined the bones at the lakeside
Criminal lawyer Mr Correia has spent thousands of pounds on the search.
He insists he was told by criminals that Maddie, who was three when she disappeared, had been raped, murdered and dumped in a lake in the area within 48 hours of being snatched.
However Maddies parents have previously dismissed him as a self-publicist and said there is no evidence of a link to the reservoir.
Referring to Mr Correia, Mr Mitchell added: 'You have to question what this mans motives are.
'He has done nothing but try and get publicity for himself and has caused extreme distress to Madeleines parents.'

I always thought Kate wants the body to be discovered for burial purposes , and Gerry is the clinical one [ literally ] who totally opposes the notion . hence the bruises on her arms .
IF she is immersed in water weighted down , then it probably scuppers any DNA being recovered . but i still go for her to have been destroyed some how by incineration .
living on the coast a sea always brings up its dead . still water a body usually has to be recovered , it would literally would be like looking for a needle in a haystack , if a small craft has been used she could be anywhere within the expanse , weighted down in the silt , almost impossible without sonar scanning equipment to map the bed .hence no if it is to be believed no real urgency from the PJ to seek out her alleged resting place .
