Re: The 'make-up photo'
As the years go by I find this "saga" completely horrifying on so many levels!
If a "body" was produced now, it would be extremely difficult to prove the "demise"
forensically I would have thought? Stand to be corrected.
Never did understand the "dog bite" on her run scenario? What was that all about?
A tad unnecessary just like page 129... hope that book is brown paper wrapped and on a top shelf!
Needs censoring! IMO

I was looking through the photographs and memories (1) thread and I saw this posted by Rosa on August 9th 2011.
What video was this image part of?
Is the first one an exact (but flipped) image of the one which has become so familiar?
Does anyone else see an indentation halfway down the neck-to me there is a difference in the colour of the skin above and below this line.
I have seen the documentary filmed at The McCanns' house and the walls do not look the same to me. Was it ever made public where this picture was taken?
The texture of the walls and the metallic -looking fixture remind me of more Mediterranean type buildings. Could the metal thing be something like the clothes airer in the photo of what was maybe the Payne's apartment? Or a lamp?[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Does any one else remember the reason given for the make-up? I seem to remember a 'visiting beautician ' story ?
I've mentioned this before but it's worth repeating: The ears on this photo are COMPLETELY dissimilar.

Re: The 'make-up photo'
This photo of Madeleine is so distressing to see.
I agree about the ears, there seems to be a "piece missing " on her right ear (left looking at) and on that same side half way down the neck another v type nick missing... Is this photoshopped?
What on earth possessed them to release it for the 3 year anniversary?
Actually it is an odd photo to have in your "family" shots album.
IMO

Not sure where to stick this, apart from where it really belongs - in the trash can..

Re: The 'make-up photo'
The Make Up/Lolita photo is so disturbing. Jon Corner released it in 2010 right? Poor Maddie. Why did she cry and why did she have a blue fleck on the neck? What the hell was going there?

And Dido's song Here With Me is hunting me. In the video Dido is in a hotel room and on a cliff. A secret message from the McCanns and J. Corner?

Unlikely as the song was released in the U K in 2001!

Re: The 'make-up photo'
I've never really thought about it before but the picture looks like a selfie.
I've seen enough self-obessed pictures on Facebook to recognise the perspective.
Is that possible? Did they have camera phones with them?

Highly unlikely. We forget how new this technogy actually is.
The FIRST iPhone was not even issued in May 2007. (June since you ask)
Nokia had some rudimentary phone cams from a few year earlier, but as we know the McCanns had a top of the range Digital camera capable of video recording with them
The Canon Powershot 7mPixel
And with respect a 3yr old doing her own make up does not achieve that effect, and doing her own 'selfie" is unlikely to take a photo so perfectly aligned and set up
That shouts "STUDIO:and Professional at me. Any by extension - CORNER

Re: The 'make-up photo'
I know Peter but that posture looks to me like see is holding the camera at arms length which accounts for the head back perspective we see in a lot of selfies.
It's a thought anyway, she may have been playing with a digital camera and looking at the picture afterwards.
The rest of the pictures on the camera would be interesting.
Who took this picture and why don't we know the answer to that?

Re: The 'make-up photo'
Yes, it's not a selfie.
Someone took the Make Up/Lolita photo of her. But why? And why was the photo edited? And together with the Lollipop photo, you don't want to imagine the worst.

No three old would adopt such a pose, she was arranged in that position to look sultry, imo. Disgusting. I wonder how the rest of her body was positioned.

Is this the video the McCann's released 2nd May 2010 with the picture in?
Anyone want to point out a couple of absurdities in the first 30 seconds?

Sorry... found the english version... "Kate returns"... I thought it was supposed to be the abductor.
Anyway... the order the lights go on is still nonsense.

She's wearing a bead necklace, dangerous for a 3 year-old.Cake Lover wrote:No three old would adopt such a pose, she was arranged in that position to look sultry, imo. Disgusting. I wonder how the rest of her body was positioned.

I find it a disturbing image you get that horrible sick feeling in your stomach, that instinctively something isn’t right as for the beads I wondered at first if they could be possibly rosary ones, they deffo don’t look like KM’s choice if jewellery,Ladyinred wrote:She's wearing a bead necklace, dangerous for a 3 year-old.Cake Lover wrote:No three old would adopt such a pose, she was arranged in that position to look sultry, imo. Re: The 'make-up photo'
The thing about the photo is, the McCann's saw nothing wrong with it.
To them it was just a photo of their child with makeup.
I believe Kate put the makeup on Madeleine.
I believe it is an innocent photo, granted they also took and released some other inappropriate photo's of her but I believe they saw nothing wrong with them either.
They would not have let a photo that was anything but what they saw as innocent out in the public domain.
I think they were wrong in the circumstances to release those photo's.
In my opinion, it is just a photo and too much is being made of it, I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but that is what I think.

They might see it as a normal photo, they think it's appropriate for three year old Madeleine to sing along to the Pussycat Dolls.
