'Tis OK, it was really ProfessorPPlum who was raising the doubt, but you can't quote two people at once when you're replying. No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:I wasn't doubting you Tony.
Here's my report (exactly as written six months ago) to Admin & Mods about another call from Stephen D Birch:
Tony Bennett on Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:46 pm
I'll just share with you all, confidentially, that Stephen Birch 'phoned me on my mobile about an hour ago.
We spoke for about 20 minutes, or rather, Mr Birch spoke - for about 97% of the 'conversation' (if not more).
Just as I thought, he needs attention, he is a Walter Mitty character who has attached himself to this case.
He spoke extravagantly about 'his team' and how Robert Murat had demanded 40,000 euros for him to dig up his drive. To which, said Birch, he said, 'OK, as long as I can have the TV rights to the dig'.
He did tell me that 'a black woman' now lives with Mrs Murat as 'she can't drive and can't do much for herself'.
There were so many ways I could tell he was bluffing and boasting.
I gently challenged his claim about Madeleine being buried on Murat's driveway; he said, quote: "I believe I have sufficient evidence".
Yeah, right!
He did wish me well for the court case, though, adding: "MI6 are monitoring me and you as well, Tony, take a different route whenever you walk or drive anywhere".
So thoughtful and caring of him!

No offence NFWTD but you come across as meddling and having a penchant to turn non-issues into Mt Everest. No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:I wasn't doubting you Tony. I was just trying to give Stephen Birch the slightest benefit of the doubt that he couldn't really be as bad as he appeared to be here.
I'd change my phone number if he started ringing me!
Anyway, it looks as if he's given up on you now for which I'm sure you're grateful.
In doing so, you bring unnecessary attention to otherwise what were non issues.

Aiyoyo what is the meaning of that ^^^ how can you call someone meddling and then say no offence. I did not see NFWTD meddling. That comment was totally uncalled for.aiyoyo wrote:No offence NFWTD but you come across as meddling and having a penchant to turn non-issues into Mt Everest. No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:I wasn't doubting you Tony. I believe Walter Mitty was very similar.

Re: Bizarre text messages from Stephen Birch to Tony Bennett 5, 6 & 10 Dec 2013
Alright, I better explain myself.
First she said TB shouldn't worry about threats from SB so long as his phone nr is removed as requested, then she was skeptical it is the real SB, followed on she hinted TB should change his Phone nr. I said hint because she said she would if it were her.
IMV, that's embellishing unnecessarily a situation that's between TB and SB; a situation best left to them to sort out.
SB text to TB was provoked by TB's thread the way I see it.
In any case shouldn't TB be granted due credit for his intelligence that he knows what he's doing/saying.
IMO, she's giving SB too much credit for his words, at the same time implying SB could be a threat.
I feel there's no need to cause focus on something that's probably a non-issue anyway that cant be sorted by the two men in question without a third party bringing attention to it.
Maybe I am over reacting. If I offend I am sorry.

Here's Birch's latest deliuded ravings, received on my mobile 'phone by text this morning. People's Voice TV, take careful note. Exactly as sent, bad spelling and everything:
QUOTE
Stephen Birch is brighter than the Portuguese police and Scotland Yard combined. He has single handedly found Madeleine McCann and embarrassed both country's. Madeleine lies buried beneath the Murat driveway. It has taken a South African at the tip of Africa to solve a crime the mighty British government could not solve.

He's actually being "normal" on Facebook at the moment - talking of normal social activities - and I hoped this was a good sign.

Yeah, well so am I (probably) but I don't feel the need to go randomly texting people to remind them!
Must be frustrating being him though. If he does actually believe/"know" that he's correct it must be very annoying not to have his claims taken seriously. I think it would unhinge a lot of people even if they weren't unhinged in the first place.

I think everybody should be forgiven one seemingly outrageous spouting in their lives, so long as they don't become serial offenders.

REPLY: I might agree with that in general terms, but NOT IMO when it is concerned with the very serious matter of a child gone missing because of an atrocious crime having been committed against her

Ok, Tony, I'm afraid you will have to make allowances from the fact that I speak from a position of relative ignorance - not compared to 99% of people, but certainly compared to yourself. However being buried under Murat's driveway does not preclude being the victim of an atrocious crime (it rather suggests it, in fact) or being "missing" for that matter.

On a lighter note: I've just been offered 2 complimentary tickets for this evenings wrestling show "Tony 'Basher' Bennett v. Stephen 'Barmy' Birch". I'm advised to arrive early to avoid having to sit in the front row.

According to Mr Birch:
The man who buried Maddie there had help from another person, who was familiar with the house, who knew that the dogs were restrained.
http://www.mccannfiles.com/id413.html
So who helped him keep the dogs at bay every time he sneaked into the Murat garden?

He was asked basic questions - such as how did he get past the Murats' dogs - when he was a member here but all you got were stupid irrelevant comments.

I doubt it would make much difference.
But if he really does read this forum, then I would like to point out that Eddie the cadaver dog inspected the grounds of the Murat property in the summer of 2007 and found nothing, which to me means there's nothing there to be found.

Re: Bizarre text messages from Stephen Birch to Tony Bennett 5, 6 & 10 Dec 2013
For me, I might have been interested in his theories to point to maybe unexpected areas, where it NOT that he claimed the PJ did FIND Madeleine's body, took DNA to plant in the hire car and then LEFT her there ... That is so outrageous, I don't have words for it. He's singing from a McCann sheet IMO.
Having said that, can anyone remember how this whole Birch-thing started? I remember something about OTHER people having found "evidence" and he betrayed them and ran away with it ... ?
