There are whistleblowers every where. In view of the latest post revealing the wall on which paedophiles recorded the names of their victims and potential victims (Jimmy Saville thread), I think it will be very difficult to ignore the findings of the Portugese Police.

And wouldn't such a whistle blower make an absolute fortune with 'exclusives' given outside the UK?

So SY say it is too expensive to collate all the pieces of paper forms filled-out by officers. I don't beleive the forms were not recorded on computer. Ludicrous. spin

Perhaps a certain N Betison (now freelance) is 'advising' them!

Could always send a freedom of information request to enquire about the methods and procedures they use to store information. Then can go back to the original request (although slightly rewording it to meet their procedure) and see what response is given then!

I am utterly amazed at the response to your FOI request.

Are they trying to say Operation Grange are restricted to using "paper only" - this is 2013 after all.

Not heard about Spread Sheets or Data Bases then? They are not allowed any computers at all!

Just accepting it was/is so there must be a log book somewhere in the building.

What a way to run a Review. Maybe this is the indicator as to how they will try and get round having to ignore, what was it, 30,500 pages of evidence.

Especially while one of the messages they are trying to get out is that they have such a superior equipment compared to those Portuguese! Hilarious. We should post a petition asking for the public to donate for a computer for these poor detectives.

Well ... I can, in fact, imagine that SY is not willingly going to part with that kind of information. Who went to PT, where they went, how often, what the costs were and ... ultimately what they were doing there. It IS a criminal investigation ...

Of course they have a record of who went where and for how long. And it will be in one record.
The idea that they have to trawl through all their records is absurd.
They could just look at the expenses claims for a start.

2 portions of Fish and chips = operation in England
6 portions of Sardines and red wine = operation in Portugal

I dont believe that in this age of modern IT technology that expenses claims are not done online.

Even if say SY still use the antiquated paper system laughat   and they can't do up the simple sums of 608 pieces of claims (38 officers x 16 trips) with help of calculator to solve the accounting figures, then what is the chance of them solving the case on 30,000 pieces (and possibly more from 3 strands) of Papers Review?aaagh

If they wont divulge this info while Review is alive, then why can't they just say so instead of fobbing off the questions with a whole load of drivels?tearhairout

Accountability and Transparency.........   Uhmmmm.......that's not going to happen!

A completely paper age, would allow a relatively easy bonfire of the vanities, to the people who want to control everything.

Nowadays, we have a paper and digital age. The government, (not the abysmal, "major" three parties', but the people who actually control them, and believe that they, are the real government),  are desperately trying, via Leveson, to silence the press. That should not be allowed to happen. We definitely need a free press, to hold these people to account.

If they ever succeed in silencing the paper age, what do you think their next target will be?
