The only thing we have never seen any publicity about was the man GM supposedly saved on a flight. Maybe he or his family didn't want the public knowing who he was, but what surprises me is that not one person who was on that flight has ever spoken about it. Perhaps everyone on the flight was threatened with being carter rucked if they spoke of GMs heroic efforts!

Makes no sense at all, first the wild and very diverse publicity, coming just after Brunt went to Portugal and made the 'm' mistake in his tweet.

Candyfloss posted:

#mccann Scot Yard says it has identified "more than a handful" of suspects for murder of Madeleine McCann in its review of Portuguese case
Murder???????????????
unquote.
------------------------------------------------------
Deleted his tweet and shortly before that we had: the delectable Hamish Campbell:

Today DCS Campbell said the 30-strong review squad had done a “fantastic” job in identifying “further investigative and forensic opportunities.”

He said it was “perfectly probable” that information which could identify the suspect responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance was already within the Portuguese files.

Detectives from the Yard’s team have travelled to Portugal around 10 times to liaise with the authorities there and gather evidence in an inquiry which has cost more than £2 million.

He re-iterated a claim that Madeleine could still be alive. He said: “You only have to look at the case in Cleveland, Ohio, and the European cases. Of course, there is a possibility she is alive, you cannot exclude it. But the key is to investigate the case and, alive or dead, we should be able to try and discern what happened.”

He added: “The purpose of the review is to look at it with fresh eyes…there has been real benefit in doing it".

Snipping away further window dressing:
he speaks in the past tense: 'has done a fantastic job'
he mentions the non parallel cases then diminishes the likelyhood: 'a possibility - cannot exclude it. But ... investigate (alive or dead) what happened.
he says again that there 'has been' benefit in doing it.

I've just seen Brunty's latest on Sky.

2 things jumped out at me:

1. Madeleine "disappeared" - the A word was not mentioned.
2. The parents were arrested as suspects and later "released" - no mention of being "cleared".

The wording in the report seemed very careful and deliberate.

On its own, yesterday's and today's headlines are meaningless. BUT, in the context of recent happenings, maybe not so meaningless.

Kate and Gerry looking davastated for the first and only time since arguido day

+ Kate's solitary return to apartment 5A in PDL
+ Sudden breaking "non-news", mentioning a "small group" of interest and possible new "forensic opportunities"
+ Brunty being in Portugal...

The exact wording in the Times article is:

Detectives were concerned that the original enquiry had not traced and interviewed all the holidaymakers and staff at the Ocean Club complex in PDL from where Madeleine went missing. They also found gaps in the chronology of events around the time of her disappearance that were unexplained and had not been investigated. There has been inadequate forensic examination of mobile phone activity in the area on the night that Madeleine disappeared six years ago this month.

There has been nothing in MSM for almost two weeks. Nothing. The Press aren't being given information and the spin machine aren't releasing any (just my opinion and observation).

No news - unprecedented quiet - now that is very remarkable given the flood in the six weeks prior.

Will we see Kate on Loraine's sofa?

Will we see an update on the findmadeleine website?

Unprecedented publicity - an overview - Page 2 Empty Re: Unprecedented publicity - an overview

Post by tigger 22.10.13 13:29

Apologies for dragging this one up again but:

I think we should look at the strategies employed by TM over this whole year.

It then becomes clear that:
Jan/Febr. : negotiations to achieve an out of court settlement with Dr. Amaral fail.

March: Crime Watch script is probably written or proposed.

April: filming starts on the Crime Watch episode. From 14th onward an unprecendented wave of publicity reports, new leads, new suspects and SY and the PJ working together.

May: around this time the CPS pays a visit to Portugal.

June/July; still publicity but scattered.

August: the dates for the libel case are set beginning in September.

September: publicity increases with mostly irrelevant material, no factual reporting of the court case in the press.

October: CW advertising is launched. BBC even advertise using flash images between ordinary programmes.

After Crime Watch is aired the press coverage  increases to such an extend that the US may by now have overrun both Syria and Iran and not found space on the front page of any newspaper.

In my opinion CmoMM is part of that strategy and I have quoted a few relevant bits from other topics to illustrate this.
E.G. disruptive new members work in tandem to have a spat with another new member, or creating topics so fast that the portal moves too fast to monitor effectively. That way a disruptor can slip in  such statements as can be interpreted as libel.
That’s hard on most newbies who we then lose because they’re given the wrong impression of CmoMM and so we lose those most interested in finding the truth.
So here are a few snips from the referenced topics below.

Textusa refers to a long article on reputation management and a new media industry that has sprang up around it - the birth of that new profession: the disrupter.
Someone whose job is to hover like a vulture over the internet, looking over social networks, websites and blogs so they can, thorough spam commenting, alter the readers’ opinion and undermine the credibility of both content and authorship.

Up to now, the ‘opinion makers’ owned the ‘opinion’ and because they owned it, they owned the ‘truth’.
That stopped being so from the moment you, the common citizen, were able to intervene in real time. [..]
- thus the need for a professional disrupter.

Someone paid to make you turn away from your own convictions. If these aren’t yet cemented in, they’ll go about it by simple persuasion, but if these are already deeply set in they’ll resort to the only thing they can which is to bully you away from other readers before you contaminate them. [..]
So if they can’t silence you by reason, they will tire you out methodically, relentlessly and most of all efficiently.
need for a professional disrupter. [..](see the original article on Textusa)
From the  Transcript of the Lorraine Kelly interview April 2011.
KM: But having said that I mean I think there’s just a small minority now and you know there’s a certain group out there who,
this is their job really, is to pick on a vulnerable family and I’m sure after us they’ll move onto another family and...
unquote (from McCannfiles.com)

(Peter Levy - BBC Radio Humberside - 6.1.2011):

Clarence Mitchell: "...To this day there is a very small but highly vocal minority online; the joys of the Internet. The Internet is a wonderful thing but it has its downside, as we all know. There is a very vocal but very small minority of people who believe Kate and Gerry were negligent and to this day they rail and rant against them. They are powerless, they know nothing and it... it's totally irrelevant. But we keep a... a weather eye on what they're saying and if action needs to be taken, in certain cases, then it is."

And in case we forget it was ever thus from the beginning six years ago:

WEBER SHANDWICK, EDITORIAL INTELLIGENCE AND BELL POTTINGER

The above is a short selection of headlines from just two papers, not in chronological order, so I have omitted further details. All these headlines date from September through to February - there are many more no doubt, but the list above is from the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. We could add the Sun and various others as well as the broadsheets which would bring the total of headlines into the hundreds I think.

A few of the above would be worth reading in full I expect. There is relatively little about the libel trial and I just love Gerry being heartbroken because they wouldn't let him speak at the trial. Diddums.  nah Gerry riding to the rescue of the damsel in distress doesn't quite convince. Neither does the damsel for that matter.

Unprecedented publicity - an overview - Page 2 Empty Re: Unprecedented publicity - an overview

To continue the theme on the publicity storm, a harvest of quotes from the  2013 topics - these are from May 2013:

Oh dear Martin Brunt has just tweeted this.......

#mccann Scot Yard says it has identified "more than a handful" of suspects for murder of Madeleine McCann in its review of Portuguese case
TOO LATE BRUNTY, SCREENSHOT SAVED, in case G&K want me to go to court and testify against you.

In a related matter Martin Brunt
the Sky News correspondent set the conspiracy theorists off today by
tweeting that Madeleine McCann had been murdered. He quickly deleted the
tweet and then reposted the same text but this time said the ‘disappearance of Madeleine McCann‘.

matthew wright‏@1matthewwright11m
@IWILLNOTGOAWAY M Brunt:"awful lot of information gathered around mobile phone use cell site evidence of where phones were used" #mccann   page 23  (prob. said that on sky news - I have no TV and didn't watch online).

Martin Brunt on SkyNews this morning.

'The McCanns refuse to give up hope of finding their daughter alive. There is no evidence she has come to any harm and the return of other abducted children elsewhere in the world fuels their optimism.'

@JillyCL and that phones will be re investigated #mccann

I've just seen Brunty's latest on Sky.

2 things jumped out at me:

1. Madeleine "disappeared" - the A word was not mentioned.
2. The parents were arrested as suspects and later "released" - no mention of being "cleared".

The wording in the report seemed very careful and deliberate.

-----------------------------------------

On its own, yesterday's and today's headlines are meaningless. BUT, in the context of recent happenings, maybe not so meaningless.

Kate and Gerry looking davastated for the first and only time since arguido day
+ Murat's front page, "Bring them all back"
+ Kate's solitary return to apartment 5A in PDL
+ Sudden breaking "non-news", mentioning a "small group" of interest and possible new "forensic opportunities"
+ Brunty being in Portugal...

= ... something significant in the pipeline?

I've just been watching that, it was Peter Kirkham, former Met Police Officer. Was he giving out some discreet message to those who have kept a well known secret for sometime but it may now be playing on their conscience) ?? page 27

-----------------------------------------
page 28
The exact wording in the Times article is:

Detectives were concerned that the original enquiry had not traced and interviewed all the holidaymakers and staff at the Ocean Club complex in PDL from where Madeleine went missing. They also found gaps in the chronology of events around the time of her disappearance that were unexplained and had not been investigated. There has been inadequate forensic examination of mobile phone activity in the area on the night that Madeleine disappeared six years ago this month.
------------------------

All the above harvested from the topics given at the top.

Brunt must have said that  ( the cell phone info) on Sky and it was tweeted by Matthew

Brunt is interesting in the ‘mistakes’ he’s making and correcting.

The Times article above again mentions the phones.
