AND Gerry McCann in Lisbon: 2009.
Gerry McCann: "There's no evidence that Madeleine is dead and there's no evidence to implicate us in her death"
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
And as for Mrs saying last week 'all work together' 'there should be joint investigation' 'i don't understand' etc.
According to HER in 2009:
"we just want to find Madeleine, and whether that involves reopening the case or not...it doesn’t matter, because we just want to improve the search,.."
IT DIDN'T MATTER TO HER (in 2009) WHETHER 'THE CASE' (of her 'missing' daughter) WAS RE-OPENED....... OR NOT!

Indeed Jean and UT!
A little reminder of the activities and statements from Mitchell and GM:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It is Gerry who is behind what he tells me is “the marketing … a high public awareness” of Madeleine. At his side while we talk is Clarence Mitchell, a voluble former government media analyst and BBC reporter, handpicked by Gerry to be the latest in a line of spokesmen. On October 17, Mitchell spoke at Coventry University. His topic: “Missing Madeleine McCann: The Perfect PR Campaign.” Except that it has been anything but perfect.
It has in fact been so counterproductive that, as winter approached, Portuguese attorney general Fernando Pinto Monteiro suggested that one way or another the McCanns were responsible for their child’s death. Specifically he said that if indeed Madeleine had been kidnapped, it was the carefully contrived publicity engineered by her parents that likely sealed her fate. “With the whole world having Madeleine’s photo,” he observed, any abductor would have been pushed to such a degree that “there’s a greater probability of the little girl being dead than alive.”
And with this last devastating conclusion—namely that Madeleine will likely never reappear—Madeleine’s own father haltingly agrees.

There is a very vocal but very small minority of people who believe Kate and Gerry were negligent and to this day they rail and rant against them. More from the above mentioned Vanity Fair interview:
.....As the news industry trumpeted All Madeleine All the Time, and Barbara Walters and Oprah clamored for interviews, Kate’s elegant face grew more gaunt in each tabloid photo. Meanwhile, a British poll revealed that 48 percent of all respondents believed the couple could have been responsible for their daughter’s death. Only 20 percent considered them completely innocent.
“Yes, yes, I know,” Gerry says bitterly. “Kate killed her in a frenzy, Madeleine was sedated by us, she fell down the stairs—in which case you would have thought they’d have found her body. I’ve heard all that! There have been a huge number of theories in the media. But what I want to know is—who told them all that?”

There's also a clip on Youtube I can't locate at the moment, where Mitchell is IIRC in Rothley speaking to a news interviewer and lets slip that Madeleine "was" a lovely little girl.

His use of past tense is a huge red flag, one which has led to previous prosecutions. As clever as Team McCann believe they are, they have for the past seven years been blissfully unaware that they have 'given the game away' on camera and on record, not once but thousands of times. And that must also include the gleeful John McCann who gave up his 9 to 5 job to rush to the glorious Algarve to doss around scheming up ways in which to squeeze more money out of the gullible public with heartfelt appeals.

Foreign Office 'confirms' British 'team' arrives in Nigeria to help find 'abducted' girls,
Foreign Office, secretary of state, William Vague would not confirm, or deny, that the 'team' was being led by the Met's DCI Redwood., who left Portugal earlier this morning.
"all i can tell you is that the 38 strong 'team' is being led by the UK's most 'experienced, 'abduction case' officer' he said.
"Given his tremendous success rate, in solving high profile 'abduction' cases, abroad, he is confident that he and his 'elite' team will bring about a swift conclusion and arrest the perpetrators of this 'abduction'
"he has already indentified 79,000 'suspects and persons of interest' and predicts arrests will be imminent, if the 'suspects' do not move from where they are, right now" he added.
A sauce added "this Nigerian operation will have access to 'unlimited' UK taxpayers 'funding' on a par with the 'abduction' case of Madeleine McCann, in Portugal"
A spokesman for the 'elite' team said "I cannot comment, for operational reasons"

I am not sure you get paid for appearing on Oprah Tigger - the rewards are in the huge audience Oprah has. That is, an appearance on Oprah = 100,000 book sales and perhaps the possibility of a Hollywood film.tigger wrote:-and another one:

The McCanns weren't flogging a book at the time they appeared, but hits on their website (paypal donate now button) would have soared. In their glory days traffic to their website (paypal button) was around 50 million, Every interview, every TV appearance and every press release from Team McCann bumps up hits to the website (paypal button). The McCanns and their media machine know the importance of numbers - they are still buying likes and comments on their FB page - they have quadruple (or more) likes than their pal Lorraine Kelly, and their rare comments receive as many likes as a comment from Justin Bieber. I sense the person running that arm of the McCann Corporation is approaching their job with a half arsed, wtf, just buy buy buy approach, a bit like the rogue trader.
Having said that, the McCanns were very much in demand at the time, or that is what we were led to believe, and all the popular US interviewers wanted them on their shows. There may have been a bidding war, and of course any payment would be under 'donation to the Madeleine Fund', not to the pockets of the parents. (Lol, yeh, I know).

Blimey that crying on the video really gets to you doesn't it.
Wee Kelly and friends should be made to sit and listen to that before they start calling people nutters for daring to ask questions imo.

Hmmm. Definitions:
1. I am an arrogant little twerp
2. I am now part of the elite, the givers of information to the plebs, and neither I nor any of my grandiose peers have authorised this.
3. It is uncannily close to the truth, therefore someone must be leaking information?
4. The media are not running with the gospel of myself and Mother of the Nation Kate, and will pay for that (in used notes) - the scoundrels!
5. If its not coming from me, its a lie - you heard that didn't you?
6. I believe everyone to be my intellectual inferior, including those who work within the media, (sadly, confirmed by Lorraine) and incapable of
independent thought, therefore I will track down the mole and punish them, grrr.
6. If I had a time machine, I would like to go back and switch off the gloating as my interview with Vanity Fair may become Exhibit 'GM2'

@Cristobell
They did get paid at least one million for appearing on Oprah. Probably more. The references are on McCannfiles and in the January timeline iirc.
In December 07 and January 08 they were negotiating a film contract of well over a million, a documentary for which they'd get paid and the Oprah/Barbara bidding war was going on.
Confirmed either by themselves or by Mitchell who certainly gave details on the film deal for which negotiations started in December.

Gordon Brown has popped up on Sky news for live interview talking at length about this subject. He looked in his element, bursting with up to the minute info on where these girls might have been taken to become sex slaves. After such a period of parliamentary silence it was a bit like being surprised by a Jack-in-the-box.

That may be so, the reports of the bidding war were reported and never denied. The film contract was corroborated by Mitchell. i've given the references where this information can be found. Oprah can say what she likes, most likely the money was paid to the Ltd. Co. direct in which case she isn't lying. The McCs getting paid for the documentary is from their own mouths.
Do have a look in the timelines which are derived from McCannfiles. It's not hard to find.

Thanks, yes I have read the film contract stuff, and remember a great deal of it as it went down at the time. I firmly believe 'the bidding war' rumor was drummed up by the pink mouthpiece, who then vehemently denied any bidding war had occurred. It reeks of his usual sleazy hustle tactics (imo). BTW, I'm not saying the pair didn't make out like bandits at the time, we are talking the McCanns and unbridled greed after all, but I do believe Oprah regarding not paying for her interviews.
