The McCanns are making a laughing stock of this country, its government, its media, its police, its child protection agencies and diplomatic corps. They can sit on their hands as long as they like but this is not going away.

More and more people are acquainting themselves with the facts contained in the Portuguese police files. They come away incredulous at the levels of deception and censorshop being exerted in this case. It is terrifying to think this is happening in Britain - a supposed exemplar in democracy.

People are not only asking who are these McCanns? They are increasingly asking who is behind them?

This farce is running dangerously out of control and damaging the good name of this country. If nothing is done now, it will all come out in the long run anyway, and with far more damage being inflicted on how we are perceived as a nation globally.

Some people in the know have got some stark choices to make. Best make them now and go for damage limitation. The McCann ship is fatally holed beneath the waterline. Ask yourself, do you want to go down with it?

The comments in the Wail are pathetic - people questioning why Hewlett's story has only just come to light etc. No this pervert is constantly resurrected as the patsy most likely to have done it. Sorry, he knew who did it and put it in a letter to his son. The son burnt the letter and contacted the super, soaraway sun. OMG if this was a plot in a film or book it would be pulped and scrapped.

The sightings in the last few weeks have been ridiculous. One in Brazil turned out to be Ibiza, one in NZ wasn't Madeleine and now Russia. I don't think there's been an actual sighting, just Perry's request for them to look. Bizarre. It's ironic that the family in NZ had to undergo police questions and dna testing and the doctors who lost their daughter wouldn't co-operate with the police trying to find her. Shameful.

Is the Russian missing people charity free of charge to the McCanns? Was the NZ sighting free of charge to the McCanns? (it wasn't free of charge to NZ taxpayers whose police apparently spent 5 days investigating or to the UK taxpayer who probably coughed up again) Is Missing Abroad free of charge to the McCanns? why not use it then?

Did the McCanns themselves ask Missing Abroad to remove Madeleine from their website? apparently not. Did the McCanns themselves ask the Russian website to include Madeleine on their website? apparently not. Do the McCanns ever state that they themselves give direct instructions (well apart from telling our Prime Minister to comply with Leveson)?

Yes they are making a laughing stocck of this country and its services unless they are being allowed to do to, dig your own grave sort of thing. What really got me was thinking was what about all those people who have something to hide as they may well have done for a number years. By that I mean all the revelations that have been comming out about well known celebs and prominent figures. Now if I was one of them which I am not, I would be really scared that something might be brought to light about my activites by one of the few good journalists that still exist just by the rediculous stories that are being published. Sometimes the most innocent of statements can lead to all sorts of discoveries.

It may very well be that the extablishment is aware of this situation and know exactley what happend but are allowing these stories because of what 'they' know, on the other hand if the establishment know exactley what happened they can pull the rug from under them at any time. A bit like the patient holding the Dentist's testacles and saying "now, where not going to hurt each other are we", each of you with a you head in a noose but holding the trap door rope for the other, but if one pulls the others rope the other will fall but they will take you with them.

Sorry Inspector Frost, my post wasn't clear. Has anyone seen the age-enhanced photograph used in the UK media in current articles about Madeleine? I may have missed it but from the articles I see it's always the old images. Now call me Mrs. Picky but if I were the parents or their spokesperson I'd be pushing the age-enhanced photos as standard press coverage in the search for Madeleine. If I were a cynical cow I'd think that an iconic photograph of little 3 year old girl with blond hair is far more appealing to sales of newspapers. What better image to continually regurgitate to the great British public in order to gain their hearts and donations to the Fund. Thankfully I'm not a cynic.

So get real Team McCann. Plug the age-enhanced photograph of your daughter at all times. Surely that's the most likely image of Madeleine to help in the search isn't it?

Just my opinion of course.

No Aquila you are right, its the same old images that are published in most of the press. Proof that most people haven't seen the age progression one is via many comments online recently inmany quarters when the New Zealand story was on that the girl looked like Madeleine (ie the age progression image was thought to be the NZ girl)
