I just cannot believe that you could be bankrupted and/or imprisoned for contempt of court. Just praying the Judge will realise how one-sided this is.

Thank you for the messages, every one of you - I am just hoping that at the very least I can do some justice to the facts of this case, at the centre of which is NOT whether I breached an undertaking but, rather, WHETHER there was an abduction at all.

Without reasonable proof that the abduction happened - and we have only to look at the role Jane Tanner played in all of this - what case is there against any of us exercising the right to our freedom of speech? -which Dr Gerald McCann himself so strongly endorsed under oath at Leveson...

Been catching up on the news of the might of the McC's legal team in the case against Tony. If this is what they think appropriate in a self defended case next week, no wonder the press systematically cave in to them time after time regarding reporting of the missing M case. Of course sensible people are wondering why on EARTH the McCs feel this is appropriate behaviour which is proportionate to the offence caused. Others no doubt will agree that the McCs are absolutely right in anything they choose to do, no matter how vindictive that makes them appear and will applaud their actions against Mr Bennet. If the case goes against him (and I fervently hope it does not) I would expect great media captial will be made of how the McCs obtained justice against one who so vilely wronged them. However, it is to be hoped that bringing the full force of their legal might against someone who, in the grand scheme of things they have suffered since losing their child, is surely of very minor significance (no offence Mr B) and this would surely backfire hugely.

I do wonder what friends such as the Hubbards make of this conduct, of the lack of forgiveness and thirst for vengeance. I recall the Rev Hubbard in interview speaking of them warmly and very gently as friends whom they had supported as fellow Christians and had grown close to in their time of suffering. I wonder if he would say the same today and that Mr Bennet is only getting his just deserts, or whether he would counsel them to stop wasting time and energy in these convoluted legal battles which can never be "won" by jailing/bankrupting/ruining people who have committed far lesser "crimes" against them than any abductor. Best wishes to Mr Bennet. You must have nerves of steel to face such an onslaught.

I haven't posted for ages, had my own private battles to fight but I really wish Tony the very best of luck on the 5th. I shall be in giving evidence on a serious matter the same day, so I have an inkling of how nerve wracking it may be. He has right on his side.

What is the plan for support if we can not come to London? Does Tony wish us to tweet support?

Thank you for your suggestion, poppydog and also thanks once again for all the messages. I am not sure that tweeting would achieve much. It is of course a part of my case that I am saying no more (and often a great deal) less than thousand of others are saying on the same case.

I face imprisonment and £288,000 costs for no worse offence than saying exactly what hundreds of others say every day on the internet - not to mention Dr Goncalo Amaral, whose book is on sale in 32 countries worldwide - with a potential readership of 1.1 billion (about one-seventh of the world's population).

The McCanns can't control this.

So is it just revenge?

Dr Amaral found or got very close to the truth, they fear it, and you have somewhere amongst what you have written, inadvertently repeated his view.
We are not sure what exact piece of information is the crucial one, the clincher, so they have to shut down the entire discussion.

Another first time poster, long time lurker! I just had to join up today to say I am thinking of you constantly and the ordeal you face next week.

I wish I could be there in silent support, but rest assured, I shall be praying for you like mad.

We lurkers and more active contributors KNOW there is something radically wrong in this case and what REALLY went on will one day emerge.

When I was at infant school we used to sing a hymn - and though not overly religious I cannot help thinking of it today.
