Many people regard Clarence Mitchell as having run a truly brilliant campaign to promote the views of the McCanns. Indeed, did he not, way back in 2007 or 2008, give a talk on his role in the McCann Team public relations campaign, describing it as 'The perfect PR campaign'?

Probably millions of Britons, and others all around the globe, are convinced that the worst the McCanns did was to leave their children unattended for up to half an hour, and that that was enough for an abductor to sneak in and out, unseen and unheard by all except Jane Tanner, who had a 4-second glimpse, she said, of a man who didn't look like a tourist, wearing mustard chinos.

But 'textbook' propaganda campaigns don't always last beyond the initial brilliant success.

Look no further, for example, than the work of Josef Goebbels, Hitler's chief propagandist and strategist. Regarded as the father of modern propaganda and public relations, his job, of course, was 'to control what comes out in the media'. He helped to convince his nation, and peoples far beyond, that success for Germany - and the whole of Europe - lay in promoting the purity of the Aryan race, and exterminating all the Jews.

During the 1930s and up to 1941, Hitler and his team, including Goebbels, swept all before them. More an more were adhering to their creed, and Germany was all-conquering. At Wannsee, Berlin, in 1942, the Nazi leaders sat around a table quaffing drinks, making merry, and laughing and joking as they planned the mass killing camps.

I mention this only by way of example of how an apparently unstoppable campaign can rapidly unwind - and turn to disaster. Within 4 years, Germany and its Empire was defeated, and their Leader had killed himself in his Berlin bunker.

So, are there any signs that Mitchell's brilliant, stunningly successful, initial public relations campaign is beginning to wear a bit thin?

Well, YES.

Take a look, for example, at some of the very recent comments from new members on this forum, which continues to attract over 10 new members a week. Here are just a few:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I was never happy with the Madeline McCann case purely based on a gut instinct reaction to the response of the parents when Madeline was pronounced missing. there coldness and lack of any emotion except anger at the Portuguese police. Anyhow I let the story drop and as I've said the last few days I have immersed myself in this whole sordid Savile/childrens home affair and have revisited the McCann Case.

I have to say after finding your blog and seeing all the videos and the evidence I was sickeningly shocked. I knew something was rotten when back in May 2007 I heard that the loving distraught dad Gerry, was having a casual game of tennis whilst the locals were out searching for Maddy and he and his wife were still carrying out their jogging regime - can someone tell me if this has ever been refuted? My suspicions now with the McCanns now go further than a cover up accident... Anyway enough for now I just wanted to say hello.

Thanks for the welcome. I wish justice for everyone involved in this cover up.

I want someone to think of Madeleine for once, and stand up and speak...then the whole house of cards will come tumbling down the the mud can splatter where it lands.

++

Hi to all, Followed this case from day one and wanted to join (have read as a guest for ages)

I just joined this forum today, have been reading about Madeleine McCann the last weeks. In 2007, I watched the news like so many others around the world, and, was of course very terrified after I´ve heard the story. Back then I don´t remember that I ever questioned "the official version".... Anyway, during the following years I didn´t hear so much about the case...I searched for travelagencies in Portugal, and stumbled upon the story again....Wow! After watching documentaries in youtube, reading through this forum as well as McCannfiles, I must say I am surprised that these parents still have supporters. Very strange indeed! Then of course I saw the interviews on television, recently. Many people here feel soooo sorry for them. Hopefully there will be justice soon, surely there must be a possibility to bring justice...Somehow they seem so certain within their minds that this will never happen, and therefore they think that they cannot be accused of anything!

++

Very interesting reading on this website, and I hope to be able to make worthwhile comments, although my sense of humour is generally sarcastic, so please dont be offended if my posts come across that way. I have never believed the Mc's or their friends (of which they seem to have many) so I have been interested to read the pj files and watch some of the videos. These have strengthened my beliefs on this matter even more.

Hello everyone - I've been reading this forum for while now. It's very impressive - so much information!!!!
and so well researched. It will probably take me a while to get up to date, but I'm looking forward to it!
best wishes

Hi, Just checking in to say hello. I've been following this case since May 2007. Fact is that I've never ever spent so much time on such a situation, and I suspect many others tell a similar story? The reason? Pure and simple. I remember those first news reports from Portugal about a toddler gone missing whilst her parents were 'dining in the back garden'. I remember those early media appearances by the parents. I remember the absolute lack of any forensic evidence of an intruder in the apartment. I remember the so called 'pact of silence' from interviews with the infamous T7.And the rest is history as they say.There have been so many question marks against the various accounts of those involved that they have ensured they will never be out of the spotlight.I'd guess that it's actually not a nice place to be?

++

Hi, I have been recommended to come here for more information about this case. I am interested because all the arguing on Twitter made me curious - if you don't believe the McCann you are called terrible names but we are all different and we cannot all agree what is right. Many, many things do not make sense to me like why they need all so much money? Why not answer police questions? Why not say what we did very wrong nobody else must do this? So many things make me ask questions and the special trained dogs, they are not wrong

++

Hi everybody, I stumbled on this site while trying to find an answer relating to the Tia Sharp case, 120 odd pages of reading later I've totally forgotten what I was looking for in the first place!

++

Hi, Been a guest here for a while, and bothered by the McC's version of events and behaviour ever since the 4th May 2007.

++

I registered for the forum about a week ago so thought it was about time I introduced myself and said a few words! Until about a month ago I was convinced that the McCann's were entirely innocent of any harm towards Madeleine apart of course from the parental neglect occasioned by leaving her and the twins alone in 5a. However that has all changed. I saw for the first time the video footage of the springer spaniels searching the apartments and cars and the alerts that they gave. It shocked me to the core. I have a springer spaniel myself and although she isn't trained at all in these things I do know about her powerful sense of smell through regular games we play with her involving hiding liquorice!! Suffice to say, she has never been wrong!! Obviously this is in no sense the same as cadaver training etc but I recognised instantly the 'head up in the air' scenting that goes on when she is homing in on the scent we have trained her on. This led me to read up about these professionally trained dogs and I now have revised my opinion.

++

There is so much information to go through about this case and was hoping someone could give me a beginners reading list because at the moment i'm just flitting from one thing to the other and not being very systematic. It has really shocked me, the idea that they do know exactly what happened and may even be responsible in some way for her death. I hate the fact that so many people have been duped and that two parents could do such a thing - yet again my faith in human beings has taken a beating. Anyway, hope that I can contribute something here and am sure I will learn a lot

++

I was searching for unsolved mysteries and extraordinary stories, and quasicrystals and I got side track from Pat Brown, mccannfiles, (and many more between) to here. I had never really followed the news about the McCanns as the day I saw the campaign with Madeleine's picture up, common sense just told me, she's dead now and there goes another registration of charity funds and taxpayers money. That was my opinion after just a 2 sec glimpse at it.

++

I didn't realise the McCanns campaign has dragged on for so long, strangely and ridiculously long as compared to other cases. Anyway, great job doing and maintaining the work here. I wish everybody well and I hope truth and justice prevails!

++

Hello to you all! Like many of the other 'new members' I have been following the posts here over the past few months mainly because I find it unbelievable that even without all the contradictions of statements and amount of evidence stacked up against the McCanns and their Tapas friends they still haven't even been prosecuted for the neglect of such young children. The more I read and the more I try to understand I just cannot fathom how they have got away with leaving children so young and seemingly without actually showing any signs of remorse or guilt. I keep hoping that a journalist somewhere will bring all of this to the attention of the wider public. Please keep up the good work and maybe one day the truth will out.

++

Just wanted to say hello.I found this forum via Google while looking for info about the new Tia Sharp case in comparison to the Shannon Matthews and Madeleine McCann cases. I am glad to have found this forum, anyway. Already quite a few infos I didn't know before within 5 minutes of browsing.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

But that's not the only sign that Clarence Mitchell's public relations campaign may be loosening its grip on hearts and minds.

Look at the social media sites.

Just take Facebook as an example.

The new group 'The Madeleine McCann CONTROVERSY' already has 312 members, with 52 recent joiners.

The group 'Should Kate McCann be an Ambassador for Missing Children?' has reached 300 members, while the 'justice4maddie group now has 237 members, with 33 'Recent' joiners.

That recent influx prompted the group administrator to write:

Wonderful to see so many new members to our group. The more that get to see the truth the better. Hopefully we will all one day see justice for Madeleine Beth McCann. xx

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

In the school debating society we were taught that the essence of a good debater was to take on and win a debate where you didn't believe the case you were given to argue.

Clarence and Carter Ruck are probably in this category. They don't need to believe the McCanns and probably don't IMO - they just want to be good at what they are PAID to do.

When the funds run out Clarence's gob will shut.
