Calls to the Media
Madeleine McCann And A Load Of Nonsense
January 26, 2010 6:12 PM

Martin Brunt
It's
1,000 days since Madeleine McCann vanished and even now there are
intelligent, sane and rational people, in Portgual and in the UK, who
still believe that her parents Gerry and Kate phoned Sky News before
they called the police. They didn't.Even the Portuguese police know they didn't.Anyone who believes they did rather blows a hole in other things they think they know about the Madeleine case.

Re: Calls to the Media
I'm still none the wiser as to what version of events Martin Brunt actually believes.
I get the feeling that he wants to say something without actually saying it and intentionally leaves the reader to join the dots. Or am I reading too much into his blogs?

I thought that was a little cryptic.
Personally, I don't think he believes anything, other than what gains viewers/readers.
But it's good to have this confirmed.

I think Martin is a typical TV journo in that he likes his bloggers to believe he knows more than he does. He likely enjoys the kudos of having the busiest blog on SKY and happy to play one side off against the other to keep it that way.
I'd never heard of him prior to Madeleine.

That's a very interesting view and I think that there maybe something in what you have said. Certainly fits and makes more sense of what he has written and the way he is writing it.

Me neither, untill that "100% DNA match".
I assume his English/Sky sources are better as his Portuguese.

Re: Calls to the Media
I hear that Brunt said, during a radio McCann discussion, that 'Madeleine had vanished into thin air'.
Thanks to Mr Brunt's incisive research, we now know that it has all been an elaborate conjuring act.
