I'm in two minds about Martin Brunt - always have been. Is he a victim badly maligned for just doing his job, as is Gonçalo Amaral, or is he a villain, a paid accomplice, working in support of the McCann faction - much like all the other small time hacks that write for the tabloids?
Personally I don't think he's so villainous, I believe he reports matters as they stand at any given time - at least that's how I interpret his words.

You might see where I'm coming from here. Reportage of the dogs inspection and forensic analysis is pretty much in line with the media hysteria that surrounded the case in early days.
The unfortunate doorstepping incident is a matter for conjecture, doorstepping is without agreement or prior arrangement but there is evidence that the interview with the now deceased woman, was by prior arrangement - at least the latter encounter. The freelance journalist, Sonia Poulton, doorstepped the McCanns at their home - in the true sense of the word if video footage is to be believed but was there a public outcry? No, she was widely applauded for her controversial act of investigative journalism.
You will always find witches if you look hard enough!
I digress !
