McQuiz of the Day: Who said this? Fact or Myth?
Let's have a bit of fun
This new thread is a McQuiz to test people's memories and see who's been paying attention ( ) for the past 15 years.
We've got a few stickies in this section already:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So now, let's introduce 'McQuiz of the Day'
To kick this thread off we're going to post 10 quotes from people and it's your job to tell us who said it and to provide a link to where it was said. Also say if the quote is true or a myth (i.e. a source said they said it).
This could make people do a bit of research, posting links could refresh people's memories and give 'newbies' some new information to look at, and even encourage some debate.
If all the quotes aren't guessed correctly then we'll announce the answers in due course before moving on to the next quiz.
I'll start off with 10 quotes - whoever gets them all correct can then post some of their own. Fair's fair.
1. "Goncalo, Goncalo, they were just talking about you on the TV! I didn’t manage to get what they were saying, but it sounds bad!”
2. "We all thought they were a 'chavvy' family from some estate in Essex who weren't looking after their children properly."
3. "The family had a great routine - their mealtimes, bedtimes and bathtimes in particular were great fun."
4. "What mother has a child in an unknown location and feels like laughing?"
5. “We are currently demanding €1.2 million in damages, but we are reserving the right to increase this value as soon as we can ascertain what profits have been generated from the sale of this book.”
6. "Kate and Gerry and their friends cannot see the point of all the disruption it would cause to their busy work schedules."
7. "But the book does not defame the McCanns, Gonçalo Amaral does not express his opinion in it, but an investigation thesis.”
8. "Yes, it is possible that they planned this a long time ago, they must at least have played it through in their minds many times and they must have spoken about it together. Otherwise they would now be contradicting each other."
9. “This story did not begin in the Ocean Club..."
10. "I have no knowledge of anything spilling from any article nor of any cleaning of the car after such a hypothetical spill."

Re: McQuiz of the Day: Who said this? Fact or Myth?
No. 1 was surely the restaurant owner, about September 2008, who told Goncalo Amaral that his book had just been banned by a court order? It was all done 'ex parte'. I forget the name. No. 6 sounds very much like Clarence Mitchell. Some of these quotes I can't remember seeing before

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

Re: McQuiz of the Day: Who said this? Fact or Myth?
tony his name was domingos, his surname was not made public. it was indeed the restaurant-owner were goncalo amaral was at that moment.
wasn't it on joanna's blog?
no. 2 was easy martin brunt. it is kept in a meme the right hand side of jill's blog.
i have all heard before, but have a hard time remembering who said what, when.
no. 6 can only come from mitchell.
a sentence that said it all! it would not even matter when he said it, it is a bloodred line in the hole saga.
pretending to be some very upset parents is not within the scope of their talents. their only problem is their public knows it.

Re: McQuiz of the Day: Who said this? Fact or Myth?
the only other who could have said no. 6 i think must be that ed something , who also did a lot with the funds, tony did write alot about him.
it would make it even worse, on one side people asking for money for a search for the daughter they 'left alone', and they had no time to go to one of the court things about amarals book, because they had to watch their children.

Yes, the cancelled re-enactment - regarding the email from Leicester Police to the PJ after they received Fiona and David Payne's email.onehand wrote:can we do a joker jill?

Actually, it could have been Mitchell the 'source' who added that comment as it was reported in the Telegraph. And Mitchell is a joker
