Did Kate answer none or one of the 48 questions the PJ asked?
48 questions indeed... 47 answered without any response...... second question with a 'No'.... that is a denial and thus a response... noteworthy! Why that question was answered and then 46 times no reponse?! Was it too akward? Would have liked to see a video of the how first 3 questions were asked and responded to (gestures and verbally thus!)
01--- Asked, on May 03, 2007, at 22:00, when she entered the apartment what she saw and did, where he looked, and what she touched [handled], she did not respond.
02 --- If she looked inside the cupboard of the couple's bedroom, she said No in response.
03 --- Shown two photographs of the cupboard of her bedroom, and asked for a description of the contents, she did not respond.

Re: Did Kate answer none or one of the 48 questions the PJ asked?
There is a distinctive difference for the 2nd Q in the original Portuguese PJ write up..... "disse nao responder" versus "nao respondeu" ...meaning "says No" (as a response?) versus "No response"... anyone native Portuguese sees a bigger or smaller difference?!theomega wrote:48 questions indeed... 47 answered without any response...... second question with a 'No'.... that is a denial and thus a response... noteworthy! diss nao responder = said no answer
I think your looking for something that doesn't exist.
Lost in translation. It's useless trying to translate from one language to another unless you are an accredited translator/interpreter.

I agree. It is theorizing as even then we will never know whether Kate answered "No" or "No answer" or just not responded audibly at all (on any of the questions). The transcript is not clear in the original language... the translation into English might have triggered me indeed...
I can imagine (if true) Kate did not respond to the 1st question (as too wide and instructed by her solicitor not to respond anyhow) but on the 2nd question repsponded with a distinctive "No" as indeed Madeleine's body had been kept there by her parents for some time (maybe even when the police arrived it was still there as the blue bag was photographed!)..
I know I'm speculating but can't we ask the (former) officers of the PJ present what they heard her say?! Kate would instinctively, in defence, answer with a "no" related to searching in the cupboard as that probably was true....she knew Madeleine was in there......
