BRIT tourists are being urged to take posters of Madeleine McCann on their holidays in a desperate bid to help trace the missing girl after more than 12 years.
The official Find Maddie Campaign website, endorsed by her parents Kate and Gerry, says: “It could be the poster that brings Madeleine home.”
They are asking supporters: “Are you going on holiday? Please consider taking our luggage tags and posters. You can download and print from home. Thank you for not giving up on Madeleine."
To try and keep Madeleine's disappearance in the global spotlight as the summer holidays start, there are printed pictures to choose from in 17 different languages.
Different images of Madeleine are displayed on the poster, including the photos of her as a three-year-old wearing a sunhat and a scarlet dress and the last age progression photo of her with the message: "Have you seen this little girl?" and "Don't give up on me."
Madeleine vanished days before her fourth birthday in May 2007 after parents Kate and Gerry left their children in their Praia da Luz holiday apartment in Portugal’s Algarve.
Former GP Kate and heart doctor Gerry, both 51, from Rothley, in Leicestershire, believe their daughter could still be alive. She would now be aged 16.
The Facebook page states: “Fortunately, there are many cases of abducted children being found and returned to their families - even after long periods of time.
“This vital piece of information that leads to a happy and longed-for reunion is usually thanks to a caring and vigilant member of the general public, often recognising a face from a poster.”
It adds: "In fact 1 in 6 children are recovered after being recognised from a poster. It is for this reason that we must continue to remind people of Madeleine and the fact that she is still missing.
"We are extremely grateful to everyone for downloading and displaying a poster – it could be the poster that brings Madeleine home."
Last month the Home Office agreed to grant the Metropolitan Police another £300,000 to keep their investigation into Madeleine's disappearance going until next March.
The Scotland Yard investigation, called Operation Grange, has so far cost £11.75million.
It has been one of the longest, most high-profile and costly police investigations and was started by then Prime Minister David Cameron after the Portuguese investigation was criticised by the British authorities as being not fit for purpose.

Are they looking for a 3 yr old, or a 9 yr old, or a 16 yr old ?
I think we should be told !
Very clever marketing though, taking the public gaze away from the facts of the case –
Madeleine is dead.
She died probably on or about 30 April 2007
The parents were the main suspects
The parents have never been released from that suspicion
All the available evidence points to that
No one has yet come up with a remotely convincing scenario to support any other conclusion.

The online shop is shut (Ye Olde online Shoppe) but posters are still available to download and take on yer hols.
Stop and think about this tripe.
You and your family are going on holiday. You've worked hard to pay for it and plan it. You are packing and looking forward to a couple of weeks of family time somewhere sunny.
On your list of priorities is to download posters of Madeleine so you can be on the look out.
Ludicrous!!!

Re: 'DON'T GIVE UP' Brit tourists to take official Find Madeleine McCann posters on holiday this year as search for missing girl goes on
I wonder just how many people will actually download these posters. The article says that people are being urged to take them on holiday, that doesn't mean that anyone will. And what are they supposed to do with them after downloading them?
What languages do they come in?
Can you really imagine someone trying to put one of these posters up in Portugal? Who would dare try?
Will the public really want to take posters of just one missing child when there thousands of others?
The countries that we all holiday in have missing children of their own, don't they?
This isn't going to work, its just media hype.

Take Madeleine McCann posters on holiday with you, her parents urge
Tariq Tahir for Metro - Wednesday 1 May 2013
The parents of Madeleine McCann are urging holidaymakers to take posters of their missing daughter on holiday to help in the search to find her. Kate and Gerry McCann said they have not lost hope that their daughter will be found nearly six years after she vanished. They said the involvement of the Metropolitan police now meant the hunt for their daughter was escalating, rather than grinding to a halt. Speaking on ITV’s Daybreak, Mrs McCann urged the public to remember their daughter and always keep her in mind. ‘The search is very much ongoing,’ she said, as the sixth anniversary of Madeleine’s May 3, 2007, disappearance approaches. ‘Nothing is slowing down, if anything I feel it’s escalating with the work of the Met. ‘And again it’s just be vigilant, please still take your posters on holiday and don’t forget about her, she’s still missing.
We haven’t lost hope, our hope isn’t any less than it was after the first 24, 48 hours.’ In just two days time the family will mark the six-year anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance. She was nearly four when she disappeared from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal’s Algarve in 2007 as her parents dined at a tapas restaurant with friends nearby. Mr and Mrs McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, have campaigned tirelessly for information on their daughter’s whereabouts, battling for a review by the Metropolitan police, which has now been under way for more than 18 months. Mr McCann added: ‘In some respects I think we’re actually in a better position now in terms of working out what happened, and having the Met involved has taken a huge amount of pressure off us now. ‘They’re doing all the things that we said needed to be done. When they’re ready they’ll come forward and ask the public for help.’ Mr and Mrs McCann said they did not yet know how they would mark the anniversary on Friday apart from a service in their local church.
The ‘tremendous support’ they have received from family, friends and the public in the years since Madeleine’s disappearance have helped them not only keep going but stay strong as a couple, they said. ‘It’s a huge traumatic event, something like this,’ Mrs McCann said. ‘I think we were strong before it happened, which was a blessing. ‘We’ve always communicated well, I think that’s really important and without doubt the support we’ve had from family, friends, the general public.’ Their daughter was never far from their minds and her bedroom at home is much the same as it was before her disappearance. Mrs McCann said she found solace in her local church, for which she has a key, but also from sitting quietly in Madeleine’s room.

If anything, the most this new plea will achieve is another blitz of false sightings. An age old advanced imaging technology identification that will resemble probably about 40% of teenagers of the same age group + an indulgence of imagination to compensate for the missing years, then and now.

Trust, or not as the case may be, Jerry Lawton to raise the bar that little bit higher..
Madeleine McCann parents in fresh plea to holiday Brits as desperate new hunt launched
MADELEINE McCann’s parents have begged Brit holidaymakers to take pictures of the missing girl with them when they go abroad in a desperate new bid to find her.
By Jerry Lawton / Published 17th July 2019
They published a range of downloadable posters, luggage tags and car stickers on their official search website.
And they urged tourists to ake them on holiday with them this summer in the hope someone will sport the youngster who vanished in Portugal 12 years ago.
The campaign comes three weeks after Britain’s top police officer admitted she did not know if the case would ever be solved.
Metropolitan Police commissioner Cressida Dick said she could not say if her detectives would ever discover what happened to Madeleine despite an investigation which has cost UK taxpayers £12million.
A message posted on the Official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page – run by well-wishers on behalf of her doctor parents Kate and Gerry – said: “Are you going on holiday?
“Please consider taking our luggage tags and posters. You can download and print from home. If you do hang the poster please ask permission first.
“Thank you for not giving up on Madeleine #ForAsLongAsItTakes.’’
A message on the Find Madeleine website stressed the importance of putting up posters around world.
It said: “Fortunately there are many cases of abducted children being found and returned to their families - even after long periods of time.
The vital piece of information that leads to a happy and longed-for reunion is usually thanks to a caring and vigilant member of the general public often recognising a face from a poster.
“In fact one in six children are recovered after being recognised from a poster.
“We are extremely grateful therefore to everyone for downloading and displaying a poster – it could be the poster that brings Madeleine home.’’
The site called on people to `download the new age-progression poster of Madeleine from the website and display it in prominent places within the UK and abroad’.
“The posters are available in many different languages and we would be really grateful if you would take them with you when going on your holidays,’’ it went on.
“It really helps. If you are going on holiday, in addition to the new posters you could take one of our Madeleine car stickers to display in your (hire) car.
“If you would like some car stickers or some Madeleine luggage tags please contact our campaign email address and leave your details.
“If there is a tourist information office near to where you live maybe you could ask if they would display a Madeleine poster in their office or make posters available for foreign tourists to take back home with them.
“If you are going on a pilgrimage this year we would be grateful if you would take some Madeleine prayer cards with you for distribution.’’
The website boasts seven different posters all featuring different designs but similar photos.
One is a now-famous photo of Madeleine laughing in a floppy pink hat taken not long before the then-three-year-old vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz in 2007 while her parents dined with pals in a nearby tapas bar.
Another is an age progression picture commissioned by the Met in 2012 and compiled by experts showing what she may look like aged nine.

Damn cheek. Decent folk go on a well earned holiday to get away from it all, to experience a new adventure, to spend precious time with their family. Why should that be dampened by a couple of irresponsible parents who took a short holiday themselves and carelessly lost one of their children - over twelve years ago?
I wonder if the McCanns gave the green light for this trash to be regurgitated. I guess so, considering it was kicked off by their columnist in chief .... Olive Oyl.

It's almost an invitation for people to grab a 3, 9, or 16 year old, then claim well, I thought it was Madeleine. Is this the real world?

Re: 'DON'T GIVE UP' Brit tourists to take official Find Madeleine McCann posters on holiday this year as search for missing girl goes on
They overlook one very important issue - over and over and over again.
If by miracle Madeleine McCann was found alive and well, she would not automatically be returned to her birth parents.
If not kept in a dungeon in the lawless hills of Portugal by a child predator and thus psychologically damaged for life, most likely also physically damaged; or ensconced in a Middle Eastern harem - she possibly has been brought up by decent loving surrogate parents, maybe speaks a different language. The possibilities are endless.
Madeleine McCann is a ward of court, I'm guessing until she reaches the age of 18 years, if by some miracle she be alive. The court would decide her future and she would have a huge input in the due process.
The McCann parents have not been formally cleared from suspicion - they lost the chance to effectively clear their names. They were, are and will continue to be the prime suspects in the disappearance of their own daughter until such times as new evidence is presented that will lead to a prosecution - if ever.
The McCann parents knew this to be the case when they made the ward of court application but then, at that stage and since, they appeared to be quite confident that Madeleine would never be found.
By example, if trained specialist dogs were deployed to assist the investigation into your precious child's disappearance and they signaled the odour of death and blood - what would be the natural reaction? Horror - collapse - panic - prostration - stroke - uncontrollable trembling - fear? Or would you go straight to google looking for examples of where trained specialist dogs have 'got it wrong'?
Would a level headed 16 year old willingly go live happily ever after with the two who were totally responsible for the 'situation she found herself in' [sic] ?
Chances of Madeleine McCann ever being returned to the custody of Gerry and Kate McCann, if by miracle she is still alive and well, hovers around zero. Some might say they themselves, the parents, should be in custody - or worse still.

The Title of the thread is "Don't give Up" Looking?
The UK Police have stated that the "Parents and Tapas 7/9" are Not person's of interest or Suspects on Madeleine McCann's disappearance from Apartment 5a, Ocean Club, in Portugal 3 May 2007?
If there has been a "Cover Up" of what may have happened to a Three Year old Child in Portugal, it was Not just the people who are Not suspects involved in the case then is it?
If people are prepared to "Over look" certain criteria as Not evidence to potential crime scenes and "Numerous Phone calls" to UK Police Officers in control of Crime Dogs from those events are of No importance?
It was just a mistake that they had "Personal Contact" with those Officers, became too involved with the case?

Re: 'DON'T GIVE UP' Brit tourists to take official Find Madeleine McCann posters on holiday this year as search for missing girl goes on
Willow, dear Willow, you always chip in to each and every thread in a nonsensical manner. Why do you do this? No-one is bullying you in any way but there are a few who simply don't understand your posts.willowthewisp wrote:The Title of the thread is "Don't give Up" Looking?
Explain.

As person's have stated before, If what I write is nonsensical, then move on?
Your the One mentioning "Bullying", is that your intention, it is a "Free forum" not owned by individuals?
if you wish to believe No One has assisted anyone in a disappearance of a three year Old child twelve years ago, that is up to you or your opinion.
CMMoM have often been told there is a live investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, I am entitled to publish what Police Officers have used within BBC Crime Watch Programmes if they have assisted anyone during the past twelve years, is that okay?

DON'T GIVE UP ? ?
I do.
I do.
Re: 'DON'T GIVE UP' Brit tourists to take official Find Madeleine McCann posters on holiday this year as search for missing girl goes on
Well at least we know what we are looking for
Madeleine was taken by a paedophile gang who is treating her like a princess and there absolutely no evidence to suggest that she has come to any harm.
Now, where would a bunch of nice paedophiles take a young girl out in public knowing that the world and his mate were searching for her? A holiday camp, perhaps?

Maybe all 3/9/16 year old girls who are wearing sunglasses (to disguise the coloboma that's not really there anymore) should also be considered as possibly being Madeleine?
It makes you wonder if the McCanns believe paedophiles don't harm children.

What about the Burka? Thats probably the only way that anyone could possibly take Madeleine out in public.
As for the paedophiles, well, there was that nice Dr Payne who liked to bath the children, Nigel Nessling who defended the McCanns and their search for Madeleine, Uncle Clement Freud who invited the McCanns for Strawberry vodkas, and all those Paedos who were obviously hanging around the apartments on May 3rd, there were 7 other children and they didn't bother any of them did they?
And don't forget that we have it straight from our Top Cop, Jim Gamble, head of CEOP, who obviously thinks that looking at child images is harmless.
