Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
Its unbelievable how the press can even try to convince us that Kate is tearful on Madeleines' 16th birthday or any other birthday, do they really think that anyone will forget her fourth, just 9 days after they claimed she had been abducted by a paedophile gang?
Sorry Kate, Clarence, Tracey or anyone else who is trying to push this line. If Kate couldn't shed a tear that day, why on earth would she do so now? Unless of course, she is crying for some other reason.

Tedious it might be, nauseating it most definitely is but necessary it also is..
'She should be here and we should be celebrating with her': Madeleine McCann's parents mark their missing daughter's 16th birthday with presents in her 'untouched' bedroom

Madeleine McCann's parents Kate and Gerry are set to mark her 16th birthday with a low-key party and a commemorative cake her siblings will blow out for her.
Former GP Kate, 51, now a medical worker, has carefully chosen gifts to reflect the milestone - as she has done every year since she vanished in 2007.
She has placed them along with messages of support in her daughter's pretty pink bedroom at their home in Rothley, Leicestershire, which is believed to have remained untouched since she was abducted.
With no evidence Maddie is dead, the family remain hopeful that eventually she will return home and open them.
Ahead of the significant birthday, they declared: 'She should be here and we should be celebrating with her.'
At Sunday's gathering, Kate and eminent heart doctor husband Gerry, 50, will pray for their daughter's safe return.
Along with their 14-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, they will also blow out candles on a commemorative cake for her.
A family friend said: 'Kate and Gerry are planning a get together with a few friends and family to remember Madeleine on her very special birthday.
'There will be prayers and quiet reflection but also a cake and presents to mark her turning 16, a significant age.
'It's a poignant time for the family and comes just days after the 12th anniversary but they remain hopeful and vow to never to give up the search.'
Kate has previously spoken about Maddie's birthday - her toughest day on the calendar and 'a difficult time because that's when you really feel her absence'.
She revealed: 'I do all the present buying. I think about what age she is and buy something that, whenever we find her, will still be appropriate so there's a lot of thought goes into it.'
Maddie's great uncle Brian Kennedy said: 'It would be lovely to have a real celebration one day. We never lose hope.'
In a poignant message posted on the anniversary of her disappearance nine days ago, Kate and Gerry shared their heartache that Maddie would soon be turning 16.
The couple wrote on social media: 'The months and years roll by too quickly; Madeleine will be sixteen this month.
'It's impossible to put into words just how that makes us feel. There is comfort and reassurance though in knowing that the investigation continues and many people around the world remain vigilant.'
Anguished Kate still spends precious moments each day in Maddie's bedroom which still has 'shocking pink walls and stars on the ceiling', and where her dolls and teddies are on display, along with an ever growing number of presents.
She said she could never ignore Maddie's birthday and the family 'still celebrates her being part of our lives'.
Kate told BBC's Panorama to mark the milestone decade anniversary in 2017: 'I couldn't not, she's still our daughter, she'll always be our daughter.'
She added: 'Everything's the same and there are photographs all around the house. Whether it be a birthday, family occasion or even an achievement that is when you really feel her absence.'
Maddie was snatched after being left sleeping alone with her younger twin siblings at their holiday apartment in the Algarve's Praia da Luz.
At the time, her parents were dining with friends at a nearby resort tapas restaurant. She was discovered missing from her bed by her horrified mother shortly before 10pm.
Detectives believe she was stolen by child traffickers, sex fiends or during a burglary gone wrong and are understood to be closing in on a suspect.
Scotland Yard are still chasing 'two final lines of inquiry' with an extra £300,000 funding set to be pledged by the Home Office to keep their Operation Grange investigation going until the end of March next year.

Noticed that...I’ve been blocked for ages from DM comments, although I haven’t been informed as such.
Interesting juxtaposition with the story about Elizabeth Holmes, another scam artist. Maybe the Mccanns’ walls will come tumbling down as have hers.

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
If your child was missing,
Would you throw a party on her birthday even though she wasn't around to join in?
Would you buy presents knowing she may never get them? Or would you put the money towards the search for her and spoil her when she returns?
Is it just me who finds the idea of this party totally sick?
Is this real, or just another publicity stunt?

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
Nothing the McCanns do can be measured against what normal people would do in similar circumstances.
None of their actions fit onto any known spectrum of "normality".
from laughing and joking with balloons only 9 days after she was reported missing, on her 4th birthday
to jogging in colour coordinated outfits for the benefit of cameras
to "upskirt' glamour shots in some unspecified venue, (for some benefit which eludes normal people)
It is all beyond rational understanding

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
I find it sick beyond belief but the again it does show their characters up once again
That is sick beyond belief !
They told the world their daughter had been taken by a paedophile if I remember correctly .
I sometimes can’t believe what I’m reading . A party?sharonl wrote:If your child was missing,

Kate has previously spoken about Maddie's birthday - her toughest day on the calendar and 'a difficult time because that's when you really feel her absence'.
If this be true, I can only say the parents McCann surpass all abhorrence previously expressed. To drag your remaining two children through life in the shadow of their 'abducted by paedophile' sister is sick beyond compare.
Let them alone to live their lives as two normal teenagers with only worries of blackheads, wardrobe malfunctions, exploding Samsungs and boyfriends/girlfriends.
On the second point, Gerald made a similar comment during a recorded interview - Christmases and birthdays being most significant in the calendar of remembrance. Now I would think, if a parent has lost a precious child under unknown circumstances, every single day of their remaining life would be the most significant.
Nowt like folk - at least nowt like a desperate 'friendly' hack trying to defend the indefensible.

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
Prayers , quiet reflection and a cake with candles to blow out !
No words to Madeleine ,
No appeal to the predator , sex trafficker , burglar who has her alive and well .
As usual all about them , their anguish their pain .
The twins once again used for the sympathy vote , there never will be a normal life them .my heart breaks for them as well as their sister , they are as much victims of this as she is . Responsible parents ?

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
Church service
Prayers
Light a candle
The only publicity should be a message to Madeleine and an appeal to the abductor.
Imagine how Madeleine would feel if she had been abducted and was reading these reports, her family having parties without her, then looking back at her 4th Birthday celebrations, the pictures of the smiling McCanns with the twins at the Punch and Judy show. She would be devastated.

Re: Madeleine's 16th birthday
Yes I’ve imagined that today but they must know she’s never going to see it ?
How could they do this incredibly insensitive thing while telling the world about their pain ?

It was never about Madeleine. It was always about them.
