WHERE IS MADELEINE MCCANN?

Madeleine McCann disappeared from her family’s Portuguese holiday apartment on May 3, 2007. She is still missing, and she would have turned 14 on May 12. UK Police have been given $A268,257 to continue their investigation going until March 2018.
Here are some of the theories police have investigated:
*MADDIE LEFT THE APARTMENT
Portuguese police initially treated the investigation as a missing child case when officers arrived at the scene. They thought Maddie had woken up frightened when she couldn’t find her parents and left the apartment to search for them. From there she may have become lost and possibly suffered a fatal accident.

*TARGETED KIDNAPPING
Former Scotland Yard detective Colin Sutton says the most “most likely and credible scenario” for Maddie’s disappearance was a targeted kidnap — possibly to replace some grieving parents’ own dead child.
*OPPORTUNISTIC PAEDOPHILE
Another line of inquiry, albeit not as promising as previous theories, is that Maddie could have been taken by an opportunistic paedophile who cased their vulnerable holiday flat.

*THE MCCANNS

*A BURGLAR TOOK HER
A Portuguese probe into Madeleine McCann’s disappearance was archived in July 2008 before being reopened in May 2014 after convicted burglar Euclides Monteiro, a former employee at the Ocean Club holiday resort (where she vanished) was identified as a suspect. His widow Luisa Rodrigues has always insisted he was innocent but he has never been officially ruled out of the inquiry. He died in 2009.
