Re: Madeleine McCann: Government 'gives police £154,000' to extend search for missing toddler
Interesting comments from Peter Mac up thread.
The question of blackmail is interesting, it's really more a question of who is pulling the strings of this nonsense.
Why are the government backing this "investigation" with £11-£12 million of tax payers money, and why are the police omitting to question the McCanns and their holiday friends, and not following obvious leads... attached to Eddie and Keela?
Why are red flags, acted upon in other cases, such as discrepancies in stories, not acted upon here in this case?
It's not like they haven't been pointed out.

His Role as Chief Inspector of the Metropolitan Police Service, was to Prevent Crime or Criminal behaviour happening to members of the Public,at which point he failed in(Not Personally)but collectively all of the Crimes that were Unsolved during his employment within the Police Service?
Failed the Lawrence family, undercover Police Officers snooping on the bereaved Family, witnesses to the Crime of Stephen Lawrence(DB)?
Allowed undercover Police Officers to assimulate personal relationships to entrap innocent people, allowed his Police Officer's to use"Dead Babies Names" for Under cover Work?
Allowed his Police Officers to Spy on Jenny Jones?
Allowed Police Officers whilst serving to protect,"Queen and Country",abuse their public position,Drugs and Fraudulent activity when in control as Head Of the Police Personnel Unit within the Police Service?
Is that what Dixon of dock green was noted for,the list could continue but CMMoM might object to uncovering the rest of what our Bernard was involved with?
The Metropolitan Police Service have been allocated new funding until March 2018,is that period to subsidise the families complaint in the European Courts,to try to preserve an innocence of what happened to their daughter Madeleine, which would be in its Eleventh year?

BH-H....still reeling from the light bulb moment that B Howe was a classmate of mine. It only clicked after reading of his early life, but he was plain old Bernard Howe with no hyphenation then in junior school. He was a quiet lad in a rough and tumble district. I always remember the mysterious incident regarding his knitted balaclava hanging on a peg in the cloakroom next to our classroom of Mrs Stokes and what had happened to the said balaclava. Perhaps that set him on course of wanting to solve crimes......it went unsolved then - much like now.
Enough, sorry to digress.

This is no surprise - in fact it was invevitable and announced just in time for another weekend blitz.
How much - for how long - why - it's all inconsequential. The important factor is that the government's decision continues to fly in the face of reason and Operation Grange will continue this farce, inappropriately referred to as an inquiry/investigation.
As an aside, I'm intrigued to know how they can put a price and/or time limit on an active investigation - who can say how much and how long investigating leads might take? Whether you call it clues, suspects, throwing final dice, last ditch attempts .
If that's not a strong indication of Operation Grange being a total fabrication, I don't know what is. Still, no doubt the McCanns will be buoyed up.
Meanwhile I'll wager good 'ol Tracey is banging away at a Sunday exclusive as we speak.

All the time it's a live investigation, they police cannot comment and thus it's a closed shop. Hence the money dribbles in to keep it just so.
Once the money's run out and that final clue has become, well, finalised, will Operation Grange be wound up......case closed ?
Because if it is, it is open to FOI requests.......and answering those may keep a few people busy for a while methinks !!

Re: Madeleine McCann: Government 'gives police £154,000' to extend search for missing toddler
More from PeterMac:
as someone has posted, either on CMoMM or twitter I think
154,000 seems a suspiciously exact amount.
Why not 155, or 160
over 6 months it is £ 25,666.66p per month
but over 7 months it is £ 22,000 pcm. which seems more likely
So was it backdated to 1 Sept and then /Oct/Nov/Dec - Jan/ Feb/Mar
or is it now Oct to April - to coincide with the 11th anniversary of Madeleine's tragic death on 29th/30th April 2007
And then there is the strange £ 70,000 for admin support - or whatever word they used.
Typists preparing the prosecution file . . . ?
Specialist fraud officers and lawyers going through the “Fund” . . .?
Who knows.
I don't.

.....and from Martin Brunt.....
Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt says the funds will be used for operational, administration and employment costs for the small Scotland Yard team still investigating Madeleine's disappearance.
"There is an ongoing theory about what happened to Madeleine McCann," he said.
"It is complicated work, it involves a certain level of diplomacy, and the search for the clues that would corroborate that theory may take some time to emerge."
He said the Scotland Yard team has been described as "minding the shop" while their Portuguese colleagues search for the illusive clues that would confirm the latest theory.
"I don't think the operation will go on indefinitely" he added.
"There's no time limit at the moment but the feeling is, if after a few months, this theory is not able to be stood up then the investigation will be wound up.
"But the money will give continuing hope to Madeleine's parents that there is still a chance of finding out exactly what happened to her."

That's an easy one. They would say something like, "we have spent enough taxpayer funds on this case already - we don't want the cost of keeping these people in prison adding to it, let them go"

I wonder if Professor Gerald McCann got one for his outstanding ovation at the 2007 UK police bravery awards ceremony - attended by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and other notable names including Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, Shadow Home secretary George Osborne, Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross, model Nell McAndrew, television presenter Natasha Kaplinsky and Rebekah Wade, editor of The Sun newspaper which sponsors the awards.Get'emGonçalo wrote:Thanks to PeterMac - Hogan-Howe's medals:

Madeleine's father hails UK police Friday, 13 Jul 2007
The father of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann has praised the "sterling work" of police officers and detectives in the UK.
Speaking at the National Police Federation annual bravery awards last night, Gerry McCann said the role of police forces was "often not appreciated until you really need their help".
Leaving his wife Kate and two young twins behind in Portugal, Mr McCann has flown to Britain to talk to police involved in the search for his daughter. She remains missing after being abducted from her bed while she slept at a holiday resort in Praia da Luz, the Algarve, on May 3rd.
He will also visit the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre later today to discuss their role in aiding Portuguese police find Madeleine.
At last night's award ceremony, attended by Prince Charles, Mr McCann received a standing ovation from police officers, which he described as a "humbling" experience.
"The vast majority of [police officers] that I managed to speak to are, like us, very optimistic that we will find Madeleine safe and well," he wrote later on his online blog.
"Somebody, somewhere knows where Madeleine is and it may take a single phone call for her to be found.
"We will not give up searching for her."
As the hunt for Madeleine enters its 71st day, police in Portugal have arranged a meeting between friends of the McCanns and Robert Murat, the only named suspect in their investigation.
The two friends, who were staying in the Algarve at the time of Madeleine's disappearance, claim to have seen Mr Murat in the vicinity of the McCann's villa, while the British national, given 'arguido' status by police, insists he did not leave his mother's house on the same night.
Portuguese detectives have not disclosed the outcome of the five-hour police station meeting.

Re: Madeleine McCann: Government 'gives police £154,000' to extend search for missing toddler
If, according to McCann, there's no evidence Madeleine has come to any harm, then isn't it really and truly time we stopped spending money on this? There is certainly evidence, attested to by the McCanns et al, that she was neglected by being 'left alone ' repeatedly while in their care. So surely the path of least harm lies wherever she is now?
I think one of the reasons the media keeps distracting from the fact that she'll soon be an adult is that of she wanted to come back, she would. This is the most famous missing person case in the UK and one of the most well known in the world. Madeleine has a 'coloboma' which is quite rare. If she's living with another family, surely she is well aware that she is, or was, Madeleine McCann. I wonder if we have to wait until 2021 when she would be 18 for this to stop?

Hi nglfi, this charade will not finish until the UK Government is prepared to accept, that it came to be involved in people making assumptions as to what has happened to their daughter, that they have proclaimed as first, been an Abduction, then disappeared to now, missing, with jemmied open shutters on the children's bedroom window?
At the heart of this case is a disappearance of a little Girl named Madeleine McCann, who supposedly went on holiday with her family, that on the last evening before coming Home to the UK,she simply disappeared?
That in the last Ten years, the close friends have kept a"Pact of silence"they all refused to attend a Portugal,PJ reconstruction of where they were on the Evening of Madeleine's disappearance, yet they quite willingly chose to appear in a"Mockumentary" paid for out of the "Find Madeleine Fund,Not"by David Edgar,Arthur Cowley/ That there have been at least Four Crime Watch Specials,Two Richard Bilton specials and at least an Estimated 12-15 million Pounds on Operation Grange,Remit-Abduction,but by who is yet to be deciphered?
Yet the very same persons who claim to have seen an Alive Madeleine McCann on the Day of 3 May 2007 have not been questioned under caution by the Metropolitan Police Service investigating a possible Homicide by their Murder Squad Detectives?
So if the Police still fail to observe paragraph one of the deceptions being given as statements of Facts, then Police are colluding to obstruct Justice, which is part of their duties when sworn in as Police Constables,"Without Fear,Nor Favour"? have chosen to deceive the UK public
So if it is that easy to explain a narrative,as Assistant Commander Mark Rowley has explaining events, then why haven't Scotland Yards finest, after a So called Review, then Investigation, still be plucking things out of thin air, like a Magician hoping to end the Grand show as a Finale, case now solved,Not?
The UK can see or read the"Mind Numbing" reasoning's by over thirty years time served Police Officers, Simon Foy and DCI Andy Redwood, what a *ucking embarrassment, sorry for the expletives, but it is what it is?
"Humpty Dumpty sat on a great Wall,Humpty Dumpty had a Great fall,All of the Kings Horses and all of the Men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty back together again,a bit like Operation Grange?

It's on at 8.02pm. Friday 6 October.
I predict a question along the lines:
"Do the panel agree that the government should still fund the search for Madeleine McCann?"
P.S. Andrea Leadsom, Brexit-supporting government minister, will also be on the panel

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

Re: Madeleine McCann: Government 'gives police £154,000' to extend search for missing toddler
So BHH is going on the radio. I thought he'd retired and was doing golf, cricket and gardening - the usual stuff retired people do - with perhaps a bit of masonic attendance to incorporate the feel good, charitable factor. Yet still BHH is in the eyes, ears and hearts of the media and he's happily positioning himself as some sort of pundit for hire.
God Bless Madeleine McCann because the MET didn't help her.

Further Funding
Hi aquila,Ah sir Bernard Hogan Howe, whose quaint thin lips will be once again espousing his convoluted answers to the discerning BBC,wonder how much his appearance will cost the Licence payer to hear more of his defence of a fragrant(Bovine spirit) couple from the Leicestershire region,of their innocence?aquila wrote:So BHH is going on the radio. Re: Madeleine McCann: Government 'gives police £154,000' to extend search for missing toddler
Transcript of interview with Mark Rowley Esq.. [snipped]nglfi wrote:Yes willowthewisp, it still remains completely shocking that the last people to see her alive have not and will not be questioned. It seems completely unprecedented.
Q: Andy Redwood, the first senior investigating officer, said in one interview his policy was to go right back to the beginning, accept nothing, but one thing you appear to have accepted is that this was an abduction. It’s in your first remit statement, it refers to ‘the abduction’, which rather suggests right from the start you had a closed mind to the possibility of parents’ involvement, an accident or Madeleine simply walking out of the apartment.
MR: Two points to that, firstly the involvement of the parents, that was dealt with at the time by the original investigation by the Portuguese. We had a look at all the material and we are happy that was all dealt with and there is no reason whatsoever to reopen that or start rumours that was a line of investigation. The McCanns are parents of a missing girl, we are trying to get to the bottom of. In terms of Andy using the word abduction, she was not old enough to set off and start her own life. However she left that apartment, she has been abducted. It is not a 20-year-old who has gone missing and who has made a decision to start a new life, this is a young girl who is missing and at the heart of this has been an abduction.
Q: One of the biggest criticisms of the Portuguese investigation, which they acknowledge as well, is that they did not interrogate the parents from the start, if only to eliminate them. When you started your investigation, you appear to have done the same. Did you formally interview the McCann’s under caution, ever consider them as suspects?
MR: So when we started, we started five or so years into this and there is already a lot of ground been covered, we don’t cover the same ground, what we do is pull all the material we had at the start, all the Portuguese material, private detective material, with all the work that had been done, what that evidence supports, what rules these lines of enquiry out, what keeps them open and you progress forward. It would be no different if there were a cold case in London, a missing person from 1990, we would go back to square one look at all the material and if the material was convincing it ruled out that line of enquiry we would look somewhere else. So you reflect on the original material, you challenge it, don’t take it at face value. You don’t restart an investigation pretending it doesn’t exist and do all the same enquiries again that is not constructive.
Q: The first detective in charge of the case said he was going right back to the start of the case and accepting nothing. It seems very much he was suggesting that it was going to be a brand new investigation.
MR: It’s a brand new investigation, you are going in with an open mind. You are not ignoring the evidence in front of you. That would be a bizarre conclusion. You would look at that material, what does it prove, what it doesn’t. What hypothesis does it open what does it close down and you work your way through the case.
Q: Just to be clear you did not interview the McCanns as potential suspects?
MR: No
