News At Ten...dentious

It's easy to forget at this anniversary time when all the news sources are giving us potted histories and tidy timelines that this is no straightforward case.

There are some very weird elements that are simply ignored, avoided, or evaded by the mainstream media...Here are a few examples. I am sure others can add more...

1. Jane Tanner's claimed sighting of the abuctor and the direction of travel of the abductor - this was communicated to others soon after the claimed abduction (a matter of minutes after the alarm was raised) but none of the Tapas 9 reacted as you would expect people to react...immediately searching for the missing person along the direction of travel.

2. The Gaspar statement...not just ignored but also held up in the UK and not communicated to Portugal for several weeks...I think about two months if memory serves.

3. How the highly significant forensic DNA findings were dismissed...Remember - the potential origins of the DNA markings were extremely limited...this was a hire car, not a tube station.

4. The court order that the McCanns were granted in the UK High Court while still arguidos (potential suspects) in Portugal. This required all official agencies to co-operate with any demand from the McCanns in relation to the case! This was what caused the court case between the McCanns and the Leics Police - as the Police resisted attempts by the McCanns to make them release all their files to them.

5. Now revealed by Colin Sutton - but still largely ignored by the mainstream media - the fact that the Met Police are not allowed to interroagate the parents of the missing child as part of their supposedly thorough inquiry into her disappearance.

These five alone tell any fair-minded person that this is not a normal case in any way, shape or form. This is bizarre. But of course there are a lot more such points - all factual.

6. The Leicester police allowed tapas group members to read each others' statements and change/adjust details in their own accounts on the back of it. See Russell O'Brien's rogatory for brazen discussion with the interviewing officer about being permitted to look at Jane Tanner's testimony to "refresh" his mind."

Hardly normal police procedure, is it?

The awful thing is that no-one would be aware of any of this if Portugal hadn't put the files into the public domain.

Let me get this straight - Between Op Grange and the BBC Panorama show, with the kindly help of Jim Gamble and Clarence Mitchell:

The blood and cadaver dogs alerts to all things McCann (and nowhere else) are totally irrelevant because the now defunct Birmingham FSS said so (well not in their first report, but in their second). And the FSS were very sorry but all the vital samples were destroyed during the testing process.

Jane Tanner isn't a liar she's merely mistaken, and they've found a man (albeit walking in the completely wrong direction) to prove it! Yet according to Jez and Gerry, Jane didn't walk by them at the time she allegedly saw.. he who Op Grange shall not name, even though they've named every other poor sucker they've had a few questions for.

The PJ got off on the wrong foot because of those pesky CSI dog alerts, and that's the only reason the McCanns came under suspicion. It has nothing to do with the vast inconsistencies or changes in the McCanns version of events whatsoever, it's just to do with them dogs.

Oh and Op Grange didn't go back to the beginning when they opened their investigation, because the PJ (who they say were completely wrong in just about everything) had already done that, and they didn't want to start any rumours! Meanwhile Madeleine could be with sex traffickers.

Have I got that about right?

Quite. It was a Knight of the Realm - can't remember his name at the moment - who wanted us to believe that because three or four people at the FSS centre in the UK (400 employees or something like that) could share the DNA markings the result was meaningless. But of course, any reasonable observer would know a hire car would be unlikely to be exposed to more than about 150 in one year and - more importantly - you would be able to work back and identify those people and either eliminate or include them in your inquiries.
