The Sun now manages to come up with gross misrepresentation of even what has been reported in the Mirror:

WAS MADDIE KIDNAPPED TO ORDER?
Top Brit ex-cop says Madeleine McCann could have been snatched by traffickers to replace grieving parents’ own dead child
Top ex-Scotland Yard cop Colin Sutton has analysed the five possible scenarios for Maddie's disappearance
By Laura Burnip

A TOP ex-cop believes Madeleine McCann could have been taken by people traffickers at the demand of grieving parents to replace their own dead child.
Former Scotland Yard detective Colin Sutton says the most “most likely and credible scenario” for Maddie’s disappearance is a targeted kidnap.

The Mirror does at least say:
‘This is the most likely scenario once those closely linked to Madeleine have been ruled out’

So you concede the point that we have made ever since David Cameron, Theresa May and Met Police bosses decided in 2011 to limit the remit to investigating only the abduction, namely that Operation Grange has never been a proper investigation.oatlandish wrote:Just to be absolutely clear, currently my overall position is this:
I do not know what happened to Madeleine. I do not think the official investigations by the PJ or Scotland Yard have disclosed this either. I have read a lot of hypothesising and logical thought by many different people - both pro- and anti-abduction - with varying levels of experience and expertise. Much of what they say, much of the evidence which is available, can point to logical conclusions either for or against the abduction hypothesis.
But the important point for me is that the accepted best practice in these cases is to ensure that the parents and those close to the missing child are eliminated at an early stage. The good reason for this is that, statistically and experientially, they are most likely to be involved. If the PJ tried to do this but could not and Operation Grange didn't actually try to as it was never a part of their remit, then I don't think it can sustainably be said that Madeleine's disappearance was investigated to the depth it ought to have been.
Of course there are, sadly, some cases where the evidence is not to be found, where the best possible investigation will not yield the answer. I am not convinced this case is one of those because I am not sure it has been investigated as thoroughly as it could have been.
You have read this forum extensively.
You have read all or most of PeterMac's e-book.
Yet both you and Sctland Yard have...
* ignored clear evidence that the 'Last Photo' (by the pool) was taken on Sunday 29 April and not Thursday 3 May
* ignored the evidence provided in Dr Martin Roberts' papers on what happened to Madeleine's pyjamas
* failed to attach any weight whatsoever to the indications provided by the cadaver dogs Eddie & Keela, as per Martin Grime's evidence
* failed to mention the mountain of irreconcilable contradictions and changes of story in the accounts of the leading witnesses
* ignored the circumstances under which witness Nuno Lourenco grossly misled the Portuguese police - by fabricating a story about Wochiech Krokowski nearly kidnapping his daughter, describing him in identical terms to the description given to the police by Jane Tanner only hours earlier
* turned a blind eye to all the detailed analysis of the evidence provided by Inspector Tavares de Almeida (September 2007) and more recently collated by 'PeterMac',
* ignored the cast of shady characters, criminals and others clearly connected to the security services whom the McCanns have employed as their 'investigators', and
* much, much more besides.
It is utterly pathetic of both of you.

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

The most important thing in this P.R. game is the Headlines and the pictures, sadly this is what most people pay attention to and subconsciously what sticks in their mind. The media are so manipulative.

I am certain, for a number of reasons, that Operation Grange was not a full re-investigation - and I believe it should have been.
I do not ignore the other points you mention. They all have some credibility, in my judgement at least sufficient to warrant investigation by the appropriate authorities. As such, they are the sort of things I would have expected a proper re-investigation to look at.

Thanks once again for your reply.
Have you read the translation of THE TRUTH OF THE LIE by Goncalo Amaral?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
He reports how the PJ were hampered in their investigation by politicians, UK police, Control Risks etc etc
He and his team were not free to follow their usual protocols and lines of investigation - being strongly directed to pursue the abduction scenario only. (That is also the case with Operation Grange) It took Mark Harrison (National Aviser to the British police) to pave the way to return to consider the role of the parents in Madeleine's fate.
MH report from PJ files here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It was Mark Harrison who also arranged for Martin Grime to bring the EVRD dogs (Eddie and Keela) to PDL.
MG Report from PJ files here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Following the dogs' indications, forensic data was gathered from apartment 5A, the McCann's hire car and Kate McCann's clothing which was sent to the British FFS lab. It is at that point that things become rather 'messy'.
John Lowe (FSS) Reports here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I do urge you to read Goncalo Amaral's book to get an idea of how quickly this became a 'joint police investigation' without the explicit consent of the lead PJ coordinator. It would appear that there were times when he felt 'left in the dark' with regard to UK intervention.

Only just noticed this in the Mirror:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Not even close!
Loads of room in MM’s bedroom, no wardrobes and with the cots round the wrong way.
Maybe Textusa’s ‘big round table’ has morphed from the rectangular one in the dining area and the settee has amazingly jumped across the room from under the window.
And the pool and Tapas bar have miraculously slid right up into the apartment’s back garden, just like KM said!

I have read it, yes. I found it interesting and disturbing in equal measure.
I will return here, I promise. As it is, we are getting into areas that I cannot really explore further prior to the Sky TV film airing. We do try to take a different perspective on things in that; I will be interested to hear the views from the forum afterwards.
Oh, and a quick message to The Sun and they have added the missing line about after those close to Madeleine were ruled out, apparently, which is decent of them.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Then we have Lee Rainbow, who at the time was senior behavioural investigation consultant at the National Policing Improvement Agency
"The potential involvement of the family in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann cannot be discarded, and it can be considered that, when pondering the basis for research, this hypothesis deserves as much attention as the criminal with sexual motivations that has been previously prioritised."

@Outlandish "much of the evidence which is available, can point to logical conclusions either for or against the abduction hypothesis.''
I would like to ask Collin/ Oatlandish,
What evidence then do you think points logically to an abduction?
Why do you think a police investigation should keep looking for a living child if you think she IS dead. Where is the logic in focussing resources on that? For example with a case such as the Claudia Lawrence one, they are working on the basis of murder, they are not asking people if they have seen her recently, there isn't a team looking for a living person.
What evidence leads you to the conclusion she is dead?
Thanks.

The FBI, maybe even UK police, see BIG RED FLAGS when victims engage a solicitor/attorney. Did this not apply to this case?
Who, besides the McCann's have been advised to have their home/telephones de-bugged? Control Risks arranged that for them.

Why did you and Martin fricker choose to go to Portugal so close the Tenth anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance and after the Supreme Court ruling from Portugal, declaration of being innocent not founded?
Was it to discredit a Former Portugal Police Officer,Mr Goncalo Amaral, who was quite obviously removed by connections to the UK Government investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann?
Are you on a mission to discredit CMMoM and what they have uncovered from the release of the Portugal PJ files, knowing full well, that Mr Bennett has been taken to task by the pit bulls,Carter **ck,where upon their legal adviser had to admit to-Abduction Claim made by Madeleine's parents in the High Court of London,as there was no proof of an Abduction?
The list could be endless, but it is quite clear the MSM are working to an hidden agenda to obfuscate what has happened to Madeleine McCann,so in full knowledge of the facts from Petermac's book, are you going to contact Cressida Dick to inform them that they have been working to a false Remit, written up by persons from the"Gold Group"Command structure, from within the Metropolitan Police service-"Perverting the course of Justice",evidence gathered on a false hood?
Aka,Operation Midland, person making allegations,(Nick)had gone on surveilance to an Army Commanders residence on open days,so as to be proof as a credible Witness to having seen child abuse being carried out by the now named persons, describing the"Room Lay outs"as to be a credible witness?
Nick has still not been charged with"Perverting the Course of Justice"surely the Metropolitan Police have the evidence submitted to them?

I hope that, if tomorrow's Sunday Mirror's MORE SHOCKING REVELATIONS is based on your 2 days in PDL with Martin Fricker, you will return here before the SKY documentary airs.
You are clearly the 'go-to' ex-detective for the 10th Anniversary PR articles - whether you knew you were being used for a PR exercise in favour of the McCann's or not.
I don't know how anyone can be expected to do in-depth interviews about the McCann case without studying it for many months/years (including reading every page of the PJ files). If any newspaper had wanted to publish a more accurate piece of investigative journalism from PDL, they only had to jump over the border to Spain and meet up with PeterMac who is also an ex-police Superintendant.

Excuse my interrupting this latest weekend forum disruption and apologies if this has already been posted - still another airing can't do any harm..
The 5 main suspects in Madeleine McCann's disappearance examined as 10th anniversary approaches
ByPaul Jollands
It is almost 10 years since little [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] disappeared from the apartment she was staying in with her family.
She had been asleep in the apartment with her twin siblings while her parents enjoyed dinner at a nearby restaurant with friends.
When her mum, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], returned to the apartment to check on her children she was horrified to find her daughter [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
But who are the main suspects in Madeleine's disappearance.
Here we examine the people most likely to have abducted the youngster from the Portugal apartment.
The convicted paedophile was living just an hour’s drive from where Madeleine vanished.
A British couple informed police the 64-year-old told them he spoke to gypsies who were interested in buying youngsters.
Former soldier Hewlett said he had refused to sell one of his six children to the group.
He also boasted making a “good business trip” with his family to Morocco for a mystery “sale”. The pervert was living with his wife and kids on a campsite in May 2007.
Hewlett later moved to Germany and refused to answer questions when confronted by private detectives hired by the McCanns.
But he reportedly wrote to his estranged son saying Madeleine had been “stolen to order” by a gypsy gang.
Hewlett, who was jailed several times for sexually assaulting young girls, died from throat cancer in 2010.
The convicted burglar and heroin addict was sacked from the Ocean Club in 2006.
Mobile phone tracking showed he had been in the area on the night of the disappearance.
Police believe he may have been burgling apartments to fund his drug addiction.
Monteiro, originally from Cape Verde islands, died in a tractor accident in 2009.
His family denied claims he abducted Madeleine, saying he was at home that night.
Portuguese media reports in 2014 said he had been ruled out as a suspect.
Mary and Martin Smith saw a man carrying a child matching Madeleine’s description at around 10pm 500 yards from the apartment.
The Irish couple told police he was heading towards the beach, did not look like a tourist and did not seem comfortable.
Martin later said that, after seeing TV footage of Gerry, he was “60-80% certain” he was the man he saw in Praia da Luz.
In October 2013 two e-fits were released to coincide with a BBC Crimewatch show. His identity has never been revealed.

Mystery man seen leaving the apartment, carrying a child
n 2013, Scotland Yard said it was looking into links between Madeleine’s disappearance and bogus charity collectors in Praia da Luz.
There were four separate sightings of men knocking on doors claiming to be fundraising for an orphanage.
Detectives believe they could have been engaged in reconnaissance for an abduction or burglary.
A lone intruder who sexually assaulted five girls aged between seven and 10 in the Algarve remains on the loose.
The man carried out the attacks between 2004 and 2006. He preyed on holiday homes where Brits were staying – including two in Praia da Luz.
The attacks were discounted by investigators because they were no abductions.
Witnesses describe the man as having dark, tanned skin with short dark unkempt hair.
He spoke in English with a foreign accent. Scotland Yard detectives have not been able to identify the person responsible.

Who in their right mind would collaborate with the British gutter press in relation to a missing three year old child?
Note for the deluded: The disappearance of Madeleine McCann is not a mystery - the mystery is why it's been covered up by the establishment!

1 Raymond Hewlett
2 Euclides Monteiro
The convicted burglar and heroin addict was sacked from the Ocean Club in 2006.
Mobile phone tracking showed he had been in the area on the night of the disappearance.
Police believe he may have been burgling apartments to fund his drug addiction.
Monteiro, originally from Cape Verde islands, died in a tractor accident in 2009.
His family denied claims he abducted Madeleine, saying he was at home that night.
Portuguese media reports in 2014 said he had been ruled out as a suspect.
3 Martin Smith sighting
Mary and Martin Smith saw a man carrying a child matching Madeleine’s description at around 10pm 500 yards from the apartment.
The Irish couple told police he was heading towards the beach, did not look like a tourist and did not seem comfortable.
Martin later said that, after seeing TV footage of Gerry, he was “60-80% certain” he was the man he saw in Praia da Luz.
In October 2013 two e-fits were released to coincide with a BBC Crimewatch show. His identity has never been revealed.

Bogus charity collectors
n 2013, Scotland Yard said it was looking into links between Madeleine’s disappearance and bogus charity collectors in Praia da Luz.
There were four separate sightings of men knocking on doors claiming to be fundraising for an orphanage.
Detectives believe they could have been engaged in reconnaissance for an abduction or burglary.
Mystery sex attacker
A lone intruder who sexually assaulted five girls aged between seven and 10 in the Algarve remains on the loose.
The man carried out the attacks between 2004 and 2006. He preyed on holiday homes where Brits were staying – including two in Praia da Luz.
The attacks were discounted by investigators because they were no abductions.
Witnesses describe the man as having dark, tanned skin with short dark unkempt hair.
He spoke in English with a foreign accent. Scotland Yard detectives have not been able to identify the person responsible.

Colin
Have you interviewed or had contact with Clarence Mitchell? If so, what was discussed?
Also, are you aware of a bogus PI company that was set up purely for McCann purposes in June 2009. The company name was Alphaig but was often referred to in the media as Alpha Group Investigations, a company that does not even exist but obviously the name was based on the well established "Alpha Investigations Group". Mitchell referred to this no-existent company as "A team of crack detectives". Why do you think that the McCanns and their benefactors created this company?
Surely, this alone tells us that something is seriously amiss with the abduction claims.

Colin,
Is it you writing this book?
As the 10th anniversary of Maddie's disappearance approaches next month, the investigator has analysed multiple theories for a new book.

Colin Sutton's views have been exceptionally well-syndicated by the newspapers. I suspect that a reasonable amount of money has been paid for his 'professional opinion' (as well as his 2-day holiday in PDL).
Is he a willing or unwilling mouthpiece for Team McCann?

That is Colin Sutton aka oatlandish here in CMOMMC
Now we know his real MO - he is selling his own book. Well, you can't sell a book about Madeliene unless you say the parents are innocent and she was abducted/trafficked.
Et too Brute?

The Mail follow the pack:
‘But he theorised the 'most likely and credible scenario' for Maddie's disappearance was a targeted kidnap.’

MWT must be gutted that he was 'dumped' as the 'go-to' detective in favour of Colin Sutton.
So much money to be made on the 10th Annniversary...... as long as the McCann abduction/parents are innocent line is toed.
Anyway, Colin tells us that he can't discuss further until the Sky documentary has been aired. (Does that remind anyone else of how the McCanns hid behind judicial secrecy?)
