Sounds like the mother wasn't there when the conversation and "enticing" with sweets was going on.
Where the hell was she?
Maybe "Paco" thought the child was lost?
Gypsy "Paco" shouldn't be difficult to find with such a (villainous) facial feature and name.
Did he say "I'm Paco"?
Did someone tell her "oh that's Paco"?
Anyway, someone knows "Paco" and yet no arrests.

By spooky coincidence, on the eve of the 10th anniversary of missing toddler Maddie, we can reveal another shocking attempt to abduct a little girl from right under her mother's nose.
A source close to the victim who can't say much cos of the police investigation, said 'he didn't look like a tourist' but thinks he might be Portuguese or North African. Locals say he is known locally as Paco and it's believed he lives on a nearby gypsy campsite. Police are investigating a Norwegian paedophile gang with known connections to a Spanish/Portuguese gypsy child trafficking ring. Private investigators hired by a source close to the family said they are not available for comment but have hinted they are looking for the owner of a red tractor, seen parked near rhe incident. Have you seen this man?
If you have or know of his whereabouts, please contact someone immediately. The BBC are quite good at these things.
The shocked family of the toddler are expecting a visit by the UK ambassador, Ms K Healy and a family liaison officer from the defunct CEOP, who helped missing toddler Maddie's family when their child was abducted in Portugal ten years ago. An ex-government spokesman assigned to controlling what comes out in the media said he cannot be named because of operational reasons.
When asked to describe her toddler, Ms X is reported to have said "she's lovely".
This police are not going to report on their investigation but have dubbed the case the 'Spanish Maddie'.
Humbug - don't believe a word of it.

A man has attempted to abduct a three-year-old British girl at a beach resort after getting a young boy to talk to her.
The girl's horrified mother, 27, claimed a balding 'gypsy-looking' man aged around 50 with a scar on his face grabbed the youngster's hand in Costa del Sol and tried to take her away.
She alleged that the stranger, who called himself 'Paco', was accompanied by a young boy who he used to strike up a conversation in broad daylight.
Police confirmed on Thursday that they were probing the expat's claims but were yet to make any arrests.
Police on the Costa del Sol are investigating an alleged abduction attempt on a three-year-old British girl (pictured, the scene of the incident in Estepona, Malaga)
The incident happened around 3pm last Tuesday as the mother-of-two was taking her daughter to a dance class in the holiday resort of Estepona.
She told police the stranger grabbed her little girl by the hand and tried to take her away with the promise of sweets as they walked past.
She claimed the little boy and then the older man fled after she started screaming for help and struggling with him to try to force him to release his grip on her daughter.
The mother reported the incident to police from a nearby bar where she made a formal statement later the same day.
She warned friends on social media: 'Please be aware that in the Estepona area there is a man in his fifties going around trying to take children.
'He attempted to take my daughter. He uses a child to talk to the other children and then takes their hands and tries to take them.
The girl's horrified mother, 27, claimed a balding 'gypsy-looking' man aged around 50 with a scar on his face grabbed the youngster's hand and tried to take her away
The mother said she was 'very shocked' that the incident happened in a 'safe place' like Estepona (pictured) in the south of Spain
'Everyone with children or who knows someone with children should be very careful and not let your child out of your sight.
'The police have been informed and are doing everything they can to find them. The man has greying hair and a scar on the right side of his head.'
A police spokesman confirmed today: 'We are investigating an allegation from a woman who says someone tried to take her child.
'As the investigation is ongoing we cannot make any comment.'
A source confirmed no arrests had yet been made.
There was no official word on whether police believe the incident was a serious abduction attempt or a misunderstanding.
The mother, who has not been named, said: 'I have no doubt that man tried to take my daughter.
She later lashed out at trolls who claimed there was a 'family dispute' and that the man who tried to take her daughter was the father or grandfather
She alleged that the man, who called himself 'Paco', was accompanied by a young boy who he used to strike up a conversation. Police confirmed on Thursday that they were probing the expat's claims but had yet to make any arrests
'Spanish people are very good with children so I was very shocked, especially because it happened in the middle of the day in such a safe place like Estepona.
'I'm still very upset by what happened. At first I didn't think he was trying to take my daughter and just thought he was being friendly but when he wouldn't let go of her hand, I panicked and started screaming.
'I don't want to say too much more for the moment so as not to hamper the police investigation. The police are doing all they can as far as I'm concerned. I've been very happy with the response and they're keeping me informed of what they're doing.
'It's important they find this man. I want him taken off the streets.'
The man police want to speak to is described as being 'gypsy-looking' with greyish black hair, balding at the front, and a scar on the right side of his head.
He was wearing dark blue trousers and a black shirt. The boy with him is thought to have been aged around seven.
The girl's mother told police they were alone in the street, one back from the seafront promenade in Estepona, when the incident happened and believed there were no witnesses.

People obviously know Paco and Alejandro.
"The man goes by the name of Paco and the little boy goes by the name Alejandro"
I expect he is known locally and this will be resolved pretty quick (if not already).
We haven't been told the full story, not by a long way.

Gerard Couzens is another roaming journalist that moves around the UK tabloids, just like Tracey Kandohla. I strongly suspect he speaks spanish, if you check out his journalistic biography, a large proportion of his reports are connected with Spain. He also has extensively covered the Madeleine McCann case over the years - here's an example of his prowess from May 2009 (that month again)..
Madeleine chief detective is convicted of falsifying evidence in separate missing child case
By Gerard Couzens for MailOnline

The disgraced former head of the Madeleine McCann police investigation was today sensationally found guilty of falsifying evidence in a separate missing child case.
Goncalo Amaral, 49, who was thrown off the Madeleine inquiry, was given an 18-month suspended jail sentence by a court in Portugal.
Amaral was found guilty of falsifying evidence to help cover up for three of his officers who were accused of torture.

All this story does is reinforce the idea that child stranger abductions/attempted abductions often take place outside, in a public place where the child has been momentarily left unattended, eg Jamie Bulger. Also that such events are, by nature, normally unplanned. When you pick it apart this really isn't similar to what happened to Madeleine at all.
Such a small window of opportunity which required such detailed planning doesn't match this in any way (or Madeleine's situation!) The opportunity to find a kid running round on the beach unattended during the day is much, much more likely and doesn't require any planning really if you can initially spirit them away quickly.

Agreed! Plus I imagine at any given day, on a beach somewhere around the world, a pervert will act suspiciously towards a child. It has nothing to do with the McCanns very odd set of alleged circumstances, of which nothing adds up.
