It's been said from the start - the twins are the only ones, apart from Madeleine, who will suffer the most. If the McCanns and Tapas 7 would have co-operated from the beginning and told the truth (if it was an accident as suggested) about that fateful holiday then they would have by now served any sentence, been allowed access and possibly reunited with the twins and therefore been able to 'pick up the pieces' and raise their two remaining children with possible public sympathy.

However, somebody made a decision for what reason we hope to find out. Unfortunately that person did not remember 'every action has a consequence'. Almost ten years later and the twins are at High School which as every knows is totally different and a massive change. They were with the same friends throughout Primary School but now have to deal with kids from other Schools, the parents of those other kids, neighbours etc some of which doubt the McCanns version of events. As much as the parents probably controlled their Internet activity it is now splashed over all the newspapers and even their local paper of how their parents are NOT cleared of any involvement in their sister's disappearance.

They can't be shielded forever from the Truth Of The Lie their parents, grandparents , aunts, uncles, cousins etc have pushed on them and I for one feel so, so sorry for them.

I agree SammyC, i think about them often, i managed to avoid having the internet at home fr twelve years but by the time they hit secondry its impossible to do coursework without the web! Even my four yr old at nursery now has use of a tablet! The twins cannot possibly still be shielded from it

Roxyroo - every time I see or hear about the McCanns either on the Internet, MSM or anyone mentioning it near me then my thoughts go straight to the twins. I will find it hard to believe that they haven't read an alternative view. Just when they should be starting on their path to independence, hanging with their friends going swimming, shopping, fishing, cinema, bowling, football, dance etc - all the things most children do at their age. They are going to come across people their age who have 'googled' their name. It's a terrible cloud to have to live under and all because of the parents.
