Aha - good question! No evidence no evidence no evidence she has come to any harm - she's still a findable little girl.Cmaryholmes wrote:With such an extraordinary campaign, reaching millions of people across the world, I wonder how the Mccanns can explain why Madeleine has never been found?Verdi wrote:17th May 2007 Team McCann: Michael Wright Statement from Kate and Gerry McCann

I actually typed something about Michael Wright hailing from Skipton, North Yorkshire - the same town as the Consultant Clinical Child Psychologists Alan Pike and Martin Alderton from the Centre for Crisis Psychology, who were also promptly shipped out to Praia da Luz to assist the McCanns. My laptop deleted the whole text before my very eyes - again.

Kate & Gerry McCann ITN Press Conference May 2nd 2012
22mins
HideHo4
A TV press conference convened by Clarence Mitchell on the 5th anniversary. There are the usual solemn, distraught-looking expressions and same old platitudes trotted out by the McCanns. The age-progressed sketch of Madeleine at 9/10 years is a feature, and the McCanns say how wonderful Operation Grange is and how it is ‘increasing the chances of finding Madeleine alive’. That was 5 years ago! Another feature is Gerry trying to keep a straight face throughout, which he just about manages - until he is floored by a questioner right at the end and breaks out into open mirth and giggling. He has to hide his face from the cameras until he gains control 8 seconds later: see at 20 min 55 sec to 21 min 03 sec. If you’re short of time, just watch that bit.

It looks to me as if they are smirking AT the questioner. Pretty unbelievable stuff at a press conference about your missing daughter.

Don't you just long for someone to challenge them? I remember the way David Walsh used to turn up at Lance Armstrong's press conferences and get under his skin. This lot is terrified of Clarence Mitchell for some reason.

Re: 'VIDEO OF THE DAY'
A youtuber goes through parts of the book "Madeleine", he has many videos entitled pizzagate with videos on different aspects of the McCann case numbered from 1-10, links in his information section.
Excerpt from his info;
"Some of the very bizarre and near incriminating passages from Kate McCann’s book titled: “Madeleine: Our Daughter's Disappearance and the Continuing Search for Her”. From reading nearly an hour’s worth of passages from her book it is very clear that the entire book is themed around Kate struggling to cope with her new life in the public spot light, as well fighting the demons that haunt her thoughts about Madeleine being abused by pedophiles. The book makes very little mention about actually looking for Madeleine and show an almost acceptance by Kate that she will never be able to find Madeleine. The theme of pedophilia is shown throughout her book, and Kate makes some incredibly bizarre statements about Madeleine’s “perfect body” and “perfect little genitals torn apart”. Kate also includes her encounter with the Portuguese Police in which they are extremely distrusting of her story and were almost certain that Madeleine had died before her reported disappearance and that the McCanns are trying to cover this all up"
Note to mod/admin if this is in the wrong place please remove/move, thank you

Crimewatch UK - October 2013 Madeleine McCann Special
David House
59:00 minutes
Someone on the forum recently questioned why the official Find Madeleine website is still promoting Jane Tanner's sighting, when it was said to be debunked by Operation Grange under the leadership of DCI Andy Redwood.
Firstly, Andy Redwood and team didn't totally rule out Tanner's sighting - his exact words were "....we are now almost sure...." Conveniently this revelation moment opened up a window (excuse the inference) for the abductor to strike. Ambiguous to say the least!
Secondly, take a look at the Crimewatch 2013 Madeleine McCann Special @ 29:00 minutes. In the background you will see a gallery of some recorded sightings from various corners of the globe, as propagated by the McCanns campaign machine. Tannerman/crecheman and this lot..
In McCann speak I think that safely justifies why they continue to promote Jane Tanner's sighting on their website.

Re: 'VIDEO OF THE DAY'
The only reason Tannerman exists at all is to give credence to the abduction theory. Who took her? He did! I saw him! He went thataway!
The only recognisable things about him are his clothes, I think he might have changed them over the last 10 years which is why he's never been found.
I think DCI Redwood had a problem with the Tannerman sighting, so he discovered Crecheman and in doing so, he shifted the time scale an abductor would have had, essentially done to shut the skeptics up.
Was Crecheman/Redwoodman meant to replece Tannerman, personally I think so, but it's open to interpretation.
The more likely scenario is, neither of them existed, but of course, that's just my opinion.

Neither of them existed - and your opinion is very just !
Personally, I think Redwood had a problem full stop!

Mark Williams-Thomas on 5 Live Radio with Nicky Campbell - Nov. 2010

05:10 minutes
Transcript (thanks to Pamalam)
Woman on phone (Naimh???) ?I'd like to see what kind of a Mickey Mouse search, you know, police investigation was done by the Portugal, err, police?
Nicky Campbell Well, I'll tell you what, let me stop you there. I'll come back to you because, Mark Williams Thomas, you know stuff about, you know a lot about that, don't you?
Mark Williams-Thomas Good morning. Yes I do. Yes, I mean I think Gerry and Kate have come out now talking for two reasons. One, to try and keep that profile there and to talk about the effect it's had on them. And I think its important to remember, of course, that as a parent you will never give up the search for your child. Last year I met Patty Wetterling in the US. Her son was abducted at the age of eleven, Jacob. He's still missing. And Patty still goes through it constantly every single day. And bringing it to the home shores, Ruth Wilson who went missing on the 27th of November, 95. I know Ruth's parents very, very well and worked with them. And she's missing and she vanished at the age of sixteen. No sight or anything at all, And these parents will never give up. Every single phone call that they get, particularly around anniversaries and Christmas they wait in anticipation that they will get some news. So Gerry and Kate will never give up.
But obviously what they are asking for now is a re-investigation over some of the elements of it. And if we go back to the initial stage there was obviously an awful lot that was done, there was an awful lot that wasn't done. But we mustn't forget that this is a Portuguese investigation and however much influence the British have over Portugal .it is ultimately their investigation. They've conducted what they consider to be an investigation There are no new leads or inquiries that would require them to open the investigation. [Note: Gerry and Kate had the opportunity to prolong the Portuguese investigation - they didn't do that. Instead they opted for a string of bogus private detectives to continue the search.] The one thing that Gerry and Kate could do with all the Tapas would be to go back to the Portuguese police and say we will co-operate 100% with a review in relation to a reconstruction. And don't forget that reconstruction was something that never took place and at the time I was certainly saying that reconstruction would have been very valuable but they would all have to co-operate.
NC I'm sure I remember a reconstruction on television, watching it being re-enacted.
MWT Not with Gerry and Kate other than they went back with their own investigators and did a kind of reconstruction. The Portuguese police wanted to do a full reconstruction with all the Tapas and with everyone back in their?, going through the process (????????)
NC Well, where do you think Madeleine is now?
MWT Well the sad reality is that when children go missing the main age group for children to go missing is ten to 16. That's where the high numbers are. But between the ages of 1 and 4, which is obviously what Madeleine was at the time, within the period of 8 minutes and there are some interesting statistics here, is 20% of children between the ages of 1 and 4 will be located within 8 minutes. 99% of those children will be located within 196 minutes. So that shows you the sheer, the percentage of children who will be recovered very quickly. And out of those 98% of those children will be found within 1.2 kilometres of the location to which they have gone missing.
Where do I think Madeleine is now? Well Madeleine was? I still believe that Madeleine was abducted outside the apartment. She walked outside the apartment and that's where she was abducted. Gerry and Kate have got to keep hope that Madeleine isn't dead and until such time as they have got some confirmation and direct intelligence that tells them that she is dead they will always live on the hope that she will return. The sad reality is that is probably very unlikely.
Naimh Can I just say?
NC Yeah Naimh(?????)
Naimh ?that your statistics were for Britain and I am sure they don't hold true for Portugal. I'm sure the British Government could have applied some pressure. I mean, you could have a special investigation where the British police, I know if someone went missing here in England it would be a completely different scenario. The child would be found in the next 24 hours, 48 hours or whatever. You know, they need to have a special department, I mean instead of wasting money on stop and search. I was hearing on your radio that they did a hundred thousand stop and searches and 99.9% were useless, you know. Instead of spending those resources on frightening the community, you know, we should spend it on situations where we can help parents where children, especially young children, 1 -10, go missing, abroad, you know.
MWT I think, I'll just pick up on that point. I think you are absolutely right as far as knowledge as to how to investigate missing children has improved incredibly. And I was at a conference yesterday, the national Missing Persons Conference in Coventry and there is clearly an awful lot is now being done, is being done co-ordinated using agencies as well as the police service to help find missing children. And in Portugal they are some way behind. I think from a policing point of view they are probably five, maybe six years, maybe even more than that behind in the way they deal with missing children and indeed some of their other investigations. But I think now, if a child goes missing in the UK, there is a incredible amount of resources that are pulled in and worked on to be able to find that child very quickly and, of course, we have experience of that.
NC OK. Its 9.30 and I am grateful to Naimh(????) and also John in Dunbarton
----------
So there you have it! The random ramblings of a self-professed criminologist [un-cited] who has not only worked on high profile criminal cases of missing and abused children but also worked as an advisor to the BBC and ITV etc., for the production of popular television dramas, such as 'Waking the Dead' and 'Inspector Lynley Mysteries'.

Thanks for posting MM. Watched it with the sound down, an old trick from my short time in the broadcast industry. [winks]
"Former Child Protection Officer MWT", flashes up in white, with "ABDUCTED GIRL" below in red, every so often. Why former?? Why was he so important? Uses 'zoom' to show "path" to Tapas bar, (including the re-enactment of Jesus walking in water, over swimming pool!) Cuts away to walking up steps to 5A. At no point tries to show actual route from 5A to Tapas, perhaps MWT walking and talking to camera etc etc??? I wonder why not?? Again, a cut away to the Marina.......visually suggesting what I wonder???

Are you suggesting subtle references to drowning, or of taken away via a boat?
Not sure exactly what you are suggesting and do not buy into all "hidden" meanings in either words or videos.

Yes, i wouldn't mind an explanation of the how you came to think there was any ref. to walking on water or Jesus please? I have watched the video twice now and I.m baffled as to why that came into mind?
I remember one of the first vids i watched about the case had lots of footage of Pampas Grasses, which is supposed to be a sign of swingers (supposedly they plant them in their front gardens as a sign to other swingers, shame for any innocent gardeners who may do the same!) It really did seem like whoever had edited the film was trying to make an unspoken point. I am not going with the swinging theory though, it may have just been more distraction.
I would love to know where you saw any ref.to walking on water?
Away to try and find the pampas vid

Kate McCann has described how her daughter Madeleine "was very much on my mind" throughout a tough 500 mile (805km) charity bike ride to help other families with a missing loved one.

Skevlan is a Norwegian/Swedish television talk show hosted by Norwegian journalist Fredrik Skevlan. This two part interview with the McCanns was televised on 23rd March 2012. Why this interview ever took place I'm at a loss to know - but it did and can't be ignored.
It's very important to carefully watch and listen to Gerry McCann - then read the following extract from the PJ files, released into the public domain in July/August 2008. His wife is still swooshing curtains but I'll dismiss that for the moment. McCann talks of the last photograph and the police investigation. It's also interesting to observe Skavlan's reaction to the interview.
----------
4592 to 4649 Letter to the Attorney General regarding investigation details
17- Processo 17 Pages 4592 to 4649
I - Introduction
Before actually entering the appreciation of the present inquiry it is useful to take a summarised look at the enormous dimension of the inquiry which is constituted of 17 Volumes, with a global processing of approximately 4500 pages, 9 appendixes that are integrated by 55 Volumes, in which 12000 pages and other relevant pieces were gathered, analysed and treated; further 22 dossiers were constituted, with more than 5000 pages, concerning fanciful or senseless news, yet organised out of mere caution.
Therefore, this inquiry which demonstrates the pertinent commitment of the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) in the resolution of the disappearance of minor Madeleine McCann, demanded from it the performance or coordination of several diligences as described in the various files, namely: the preservation of the location of the fact (although it had already been rummaged by numerous people as we will discuss ahead); several collections and examinations on the existence of eventual traces; a circumstantiated photographic report; the installation, in the first 24 hours of an extensive operational scheme, including the participation of several police and civil protection forces, in a total of over 130 elements; the reinforcement, in the next 24 hours of said operational scheme, with the mobilisation of over 300 members of police forces and public entities; the installation of control posts on roads and on the Southern terrestrial border with Spain; the use of sniffer dog teams; the use of exceptional search and rescue teams (aerial, terrestrial and maritime), alerts and diffusion all over the country and abroad. As a mere example, during the following weeks and on a permanent basis, two helicopters, four vessels and several all-road vehicles, apart from private airplanes and boats, were employed; in the same manner, the investigation operations were coordinated with the specific search operations, with hundreds of diligences performed, like the identification and the formal and informal hearing of citizens, door-to-door searches, in the impressive number of 443, at the residences and tourist resorts of Vila da Luz and its surroundings, the identification and search of vehicles, and searches on the terrain, in an area that started out covering 15 Km2, and progressively grew to 30Km2 (where special attention was paid to locations like wells, passages, tunnels, reservoirs and lakes).
During the following days, more than 700 persons who might possess some relevant information about the disappearance were formally and informally questioned, with the PJ using more than 100 officers from several departments of Portimao, Faro and Lisbon, who worked on a consecutive base of 24 hours per day to accomplish the task.
All the locations where there could be images that might be related to the case (like, for example, restaurants and petrol stations) were equally consulted, and the telephone lines of the permanent services of the Portimao and Faro departments were made available. A mobile police post was installed in Vila da Luz to collect information.
Apart from the already mentioned identifications and door-to-door house searches, the listing, contact and interview with known local suspects with previous connections to sexual criminality against minors, was performed.
The PJ was especially careful to promote regular meetings with the missing child's parents and also designated a Liaison Officer for the family, for permanent support and relationship, with the active following and cooperation of the Royal British Consulate in Portimao.
Shortly after the beginning of the investigation continuous relationships with the Leicestershire Constabulary, which, for the effect, sent several of its officers to Portugal, with the PJ equally sending officers to the United Kingdom, were established, and intense cooperation and understanding was registered between these entities, which were united in the common purpose of searching for the missing child, and for the truth.
In the inquiry it is clear that the PJ never dismissed any information or credible elements that might lead to the revelation of facts, with over 2000 formal and informal diligences carried out over the months, and the PJ having explored, nationally and internationally, all of the information with a higher or lower degree of credibility, with special relevance for tens of supposed sightings or trackings of the child, most of which were widely reported by the press.
As an example, cases of international cooperation can be mentioned, namely with Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, which led to the detention or identification of persons that tried to introduce misleading information about the hypothetical destiny or tracking of the child.
In summary, it is notorious that the PJ spared no efforts in the sense of making exceptional technical, human and financial means available to find the child and to discover the truth of facts, having been completely accompanied in this effort by the Leicestershire Constabulary, the police force that is located in the city of Leicester, where most of the people in the holiday group come from.
~~~~~~
If you listen carefully to Gerry McCann's words, remember the claims made by the Tapas group in particular during the rogatory interviews and then read the extract from the PJ Files, there is a strong indication that the McCanns and their group of friends have been rather economical with the truth.
Re: 'VIDEO OF THE DAY'
Kate also says a lot of interesting things in the second video above -
She stated that if Madeleine is dead, then there's no search, as if the search is more important than her nit having her daughter back. I would have expected 'if she's dead, then my world falls apart' or something similar.
She stated quite categorically that 'a man' took Madeleine, this is what she tells S and A. Couldn't be a woman or a group of people?
She stated she was 'thrown off' when the twins have recounted events from before May 2007, and looked quite uncomfortable at the question of how much the pair of them remember.
Re: 'VIDEO OF THE DAY'
I also don't understand the whole 'if she's dead there's no search'. Portuguese and British police will be looking for her, regardless of whether she's alive or not, arguably more if they have reason to believe she's dead because it becomes a homicide. Anybody else 'looking' doesn't matter. Time to stop the fallacy that Joe public is 'looking' and that will have any positive effect on the investigation. At the time of this interview it had been 5 years. Given that we never had any clear or accurate images of Madeleine in the first place, the chances of a random person spotting her on the street are slim to none, surely?
