Scotland Yard is set to investigate an 'important' new lead in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Extra funding has been allocated to the Met to probe the information, which is said to strengthen the theory that the British girl was kidnapped by a trafficking gang.
Detectives will work on the assumption that Maddie was snatched by a gang of European traffickers after taking photographs of her.
The new development is said to be the 'last throw of the dice' into the investigation of the youngster's disappearance in Portugal in 2007, when she was three years old.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] reported that the latest lead has been treated with the utmost importance, with Whitehall officials kept in the loop on its progress.
A source told the newspaper: 'This is an important new line of inquiry which could provide an explanation on whether Madeleine was abducted and transported away.
'It raises hope that she could still be alive.'
It is understood that current funding for the investigation will enable it to run until April, when it is due to reviewed again.

Madeleine was three years old when she went missing from the holiday apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.
Portuguese police, working in co-operation with Scotland Yard, reopened the investigation in 2013 amid talk of fresh leads but last year the Metropolitan Police announced it had reduced the number of officers it had working on the case from 29 to four.
Last year, the Government also revealed that the investigation, code-named Operation Grange, had cost more than £10million.
Forensic investigations into the disappearance were concluded in August after the final scientific tests carried out three months ago 'didn't take the police forward'.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Met Police commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe announced in May that the investigation would come to an end after one last line of inquiry was looked into.
At the time, then-Home Secretary Theresa May granted the team £95,000 to keep the investigation going.
Detectives have explored dozens of theories since she vanished, including allegations she was kidnapped by a paedophile gang, killed during a botched burglary or snatched and sold by child traffickers.
But despite 9,000 potential sightings all over Europe and even further afield the police are no closer to solving the mystery.

No wonder noone takes the Sun as a serious newspaper, more crap reporting from a rag that has lost all its credibility's when it comes to reporting fact not fiction as in this case, how much are the McScams paying this paper along with all the other papers who regularly come out with these fairy tale stories of Maddie being abducted. Its a pity that the Portuguese Police and the creditable Snr Goncalo Amaral were not allowed to continue their investigation in this case before the British Government got involved to cover up what really happened to that poor little girl, shame on you Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, David Cameron and Theresa May, what are you hiding. With all the evidence pointing to the parents being responsible for Maddies disappearance this is a open and shut case. Why are they being protected? More tax payers money being wasted, when will it end.

Congratulations The Sun, yet again you have proved you are so deep in the pockets of Kate and Gerry McCann, that you have no shame in printing totally untrue articles in favour of the parents. You know fine well this is an old story, which is why you couldn't provide a reliable source. We will never post another article by yours. No wonder your sales are at an all time low.

Imo It's just a wee reminder for the British public that there was a kidnapping. The "Embedded Confession" interview with Peter Hyatt has ruffled a few feathers and the public needs another reminder that MBC was taken. They need to stop saying that OG is getting more funding. The public aren't happy about that and it could bite them in the backside....imo of course.

What this article claim is that the McCanns was in Sagres that day.
Nothing, nada about this in Kate's book or in the interviews with the Police.
Maybe TM are a little bit anxious about the lost Monday and the lack of phone pings,CEOP gate, odd creche records, no credible witness that saw Madeleine after Sunday and that more and more people believe that something happened earlier that week.
So,back to the beginning.

And this important news comes to us from non other but 'A source'.
Never mind that it isn't worth the bandwith it's hosted on, the public just read the headline and take it as the truth again.
I see the small number of comments allowed ( at The DM) are all from people who believe the nonsense, i'l have to try and sneak in a sarcasticaly disguised one about one about the dogs or something....

Re-hashed old story. MSM really do think the British public are idiots? OG are a complete laughing stock in my opinion...
It has all become a game of "ping pong" of who shouts loudest, we all know that those quietly working behind the scenes will have their day for Madeleine!

"with Whitehall officials kept in the loop on its progress"
Why? They've spent as much on this one "missing child" case as they have on guarding Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy. Do all missing children get this level of funding from the government? They should have learned long ago that giving disproportionate funding and attention to cases where the public are largely not buying what they're selling, only makes people think there is something being covered up.
Mobile view doesn't let me quote properly, but ChippyM:
"I see the small number of comments allowed ( at The DM) are all from people who believe the nonsense"
It isn't unheard of that comment sections get deliberately astro-turfed by people "paid" to sway public opinion and push a narrative. This could be what happens with the MM articles. Also, the case has been going for so long now that for well meaning people who gave the McCanns the benefit of the doubt in the beginning, and have since been emotionally manipulated by all the coverage over the years, it's likely there will be a good number who can't allow themselves to believe any different to what they're being told. It's just finding that one piece of information that breaks through and forces the mind to face reality, then more will "see the light" and reject the narrative pushed in the media. It's happened a lot these last few years with one case or another :)

What a load of old Tommy Rot - nearly 10 years and the MSM fraud still peddles the same old claptrap.
An alien abduction is more credible, at least a higher intelligence could get into 5A unseen and leave no trace. Unlike the beings of lower intelligence that continue to print and swallow the abduction theories.

I've been blacklisted by the tabloid moderators for many a year - nothing dramatic, they just like to keep the comments section nice and tabloid friendly without rocking the proverbial boat. It's been very noticeable over the years how comments relative to the McCanns have always been restricted to mild opinion about neglect and police funding etc. - nothing too radical.Cady wrote:

Can't say I blame them, they too have legal ramifications to consider and of course the reputation of their newspaper.
As an aside, they won't even publish my comments when I'm being nice .

Child traffickers who might only have snathed one child!?
Not only might they have only snatched one child but they bothered to open a window as a red herring and also in broad daylight took the risk of photographing Maddie on the beach in the presence of her parents - WHAT?

Those who are behind this money giving to fund a false investigation are robbing the public and insulting their intelligence. Do they reallly think that this will all go away... it's not a case of "pizza gate" it's lining the "Dominoes" and we all know what happens after the first one falls... chain reaction!

RE. The comments sections being monitored....i mean censored. I did notice at the time Katie Hopkins did her article about them neglecting the kids, there were a majority of negative and scathing comments.
I find you can sneak comments under the radar anyway by being sarcastic and starting off with what looks like a critiscism of the PJ and then slot something in about the Gaspar statement or dogs at the end. Whoever does the moderation doesn't notice.

Re; Mail on Sunday.
Note, the Metropolitan Police Service and Interpol had carried out an investigation into whether or not a"Paedophile Ring" was in operation involving the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007-2008? They concluded or could not confirm or deny that a"Paedophile ring"had been involved into Madeleine's disappearance, yet they are now prepared to reexamine the"theory"once again, nine years after drawing a blank?
Perhaps they still want to persist with DCI Andy Redwoods theory of the four Portugal burglars snatching Madeleine,Operation Grange,Abduction?
Do not forget who came up with the"theory"of the Polish Couple, who stayed at Robert Murat's relations Apartments,Burgeau,Tapas group?
It is a bit like a nursery rhyme,"Round and Round the mulberry bush, pop goes the Weasel"?

Re: Mail on Sunday story- Scotland Yard given extra funding to probe ‘important’ new lead over theory that Madeleine McCann was kidnapped by trafficking gang
Yes, @ Equity, it can only be them that Scotland Yard has in view. It is the ONLY reference in the whole Madeleine McCann saga to Madeleine McCan being (allegedly) see on a beach. And like so much else in this case, it was FALSE.Equity wrote:New lead?
Wojchiech and Annetta Krokowski?.
First, a review of the relevant references in the Sun on Sunday and Mail on Sunday stories:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
QUOTES:
1. "A new lead suggests Maddie snatched after traffickers took photos of her".
2. "Detectives will work on the assumption that Maddie was snatched by a gang of European traffickers after taking photographs of her".
3. The development is being taken so seriously that senior Whitehall officials have been briefed by the Met on its progress...Detectives are following a tip that a gang of European traffickers snatched the tot after taking pictures of her.
4. A focus of the inquiry is whether Madeleine, who vanished just days before her fourth birthday in May 2007, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] One witness has claimed the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Madeleine was on holiday with her family in Praia da Luz, in Portugal’s Algarve...
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The one and only reference to Madeleine McCann having been photographed on a beach derives from a statement made by Nuno Lourenco to the Portuguese Police on Saturday 5 May 2007.
In this post I made over two years and one month ago, I demolished his statement and gave overwhelming evidence that i was a tissue of lies from start to finish.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
If you put 'Krokowski' into CMOMM's search bar, several other threads concerning the Krokowksi affair and various aspects of Nuno Lourenco's fabrication can be read.
There is also a very good visual review of the evidence in the first part of Richard Hall's second Madeleine film: 'The Phantoms', which can be seen here in HideHo's upload:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I cannot emphasise too strongly the immense significance in this case of Nuno Lourenco's fabrication stories.
These are I think the main points:
1 Nuno Lourenco’s statement must be treated as a wholesale fabrication with not a scintilla of truth in it
2 He claimed the incident of Krokowski photographing his children on the beach occurred on Sunday 29th April. However, altogether THREE different dates were given for this alleged event
3 Despite what he claimed was a clear attempt to kidnap his young daughter, he delayed reporting the incident until AFTER Madeleine McCann has been reported missing
4 His deception was clearly planned in advance. To get away with the deception, he had to have taken a photograph of Krokowski’s car, AND he was able to supply the Portuguese Police with information leading to the police obtaining CCTV images of Krokowsli and his wife leaving a Lisbon shop
5 The information about the Lisbon shop was supplied either by Robert Mutat’s uncle Ralph Eveleigh or his manager of the Burgau beach bar
6 There were other clear connections with Robert Murat: (1) Krokowski was staying at the Sol e Mar, which was maintained by a company founded by Robert Murat’s father and (2) hairs of the same haplotype as Robert Murat and Jane Tanner were found in Krokowski’s apartment
7 The description Lourenco gave of Krokowski (‘not a tourist’, ‘cloth clothes’, ‘classic shoes’ etc.) matched in 17 different respects the descriptions Janer Tanner gave of ‘Tannerman’ and Martin Smith gave of ‘Smithman’. This strongly suggested that all the descriptions came from a single source and therefore suggests collusion
8 The Lourenco deception about Krokowslki caused a major diversion to the Portuguese Police’s investigation as is made plain in Goncalo Amaral’s book, The Truth about A Lie’. Amaral and his colleagues believed that Lourenco was being truthful
9 Strong stories that the McCanns had visited Sagres on Sunday and may have been seen by Madeleine’s abductor (i.e. Krokowski) were published in the British mainstream press on 11th and 12th May 2007. I showed in my articles on the forum that these stories were sourced from ‘a police source’ or a ‘source close to the investigation’ and I suggested that they were likely planted by Clarence Mitchell or a close colleague of his
10 Within four weeks of Richard Hall publishing his second Madeleine McCann film, the ‘Phantoms’, the Sunday People published a major article about Krokowski, the one and only article about him in the past nine years
11 The Sun on Sunday and Mail on Sunday articles featuring Madeleine allegedly being ‘photographed on a beach’. came out just 10 days after Richard Hall’s fourth Madeleine film: ‘McCanns’ Embedded Confessions’.

So,
NO 'bungling burglators', NO 'pot bellied smelly man,' NO 'break in', NO 'evidence' of a pre-planned 'abduction', or indeed an 'abduction' at all, NO 'last picture, by pool' given to police, even though KM says she had taken it just 'hours' earlier and was 'in her camera', in short, no' diddly squat'.
This 'latest episode' will 'see' DCI Wally 'traipsing' around Eastern Europe, for the next ten 'years', ala, 'The Missing', series 1.
All 'funded' by the UK 'taxpayer'!

Re: Mail on Sunday story- Scotland Yard given extra funding to probe ‘important’ new lead over theory that Madeleine McCann was kidnapped by trafficking gang
On May 4th 2007, the morning after Madeleine was reported missing, Yvonne Martin, who worked for child protection services in England, and who was also on holiday in Portugal, introduced herself to the McCanns outside their apartment. She showed them her identification, and offered to help them. Curiously, and despite no leads, Kate McCann told her that Madeleine had been abducted by a couple. This claim also ties in with the report of Kate shouting, "THEY'VE TAKEN HER.''Tony Bennett wrote:

I'd be very interested to know where Kate got this information from. Exactly WHEN were the Portuguese Police made aware of the Polish couple and did they immediately pass that information on to the McCanns?[

First of all, AFAIK there is no independent confirmation that Kate McCann ever said/shouted/screamed 'They've taken her'.kaz wrote:On May 4th 2007, the morning after Madeleine was reported missing, Yvonne Martin, who worked for child protection services in England, and who was also on holiday in Portugal, introduced herself to the McCanns outside their apartment. Second, both Gerry McCann (Graham Mackenzie statement) and Kate McCann claimed that Madeleine has been abducted by paedophiles/abducted by 'couple'..but in all seriousness @ kaz how can you class this is 'information'? (kaz quote: "I'd be very interested to know where Kate got this information from".).
Third, to understand the Lourenco/Krokowski deception, suppose that, for example:
1. Madeleine died in an accident or otherwise on Sunday 29th April, and then
2. A group of people decided (for whatever reason): 'We must cover this up', and then
3. The group said 'We must invent a mystery abductor', and then
4. Someone said: 'Let's put Krokowski in the frame', and then
5. The group got Lourenco to photograph Krokowski's car, and then
6. The group got Jane Tanner and Nuno Lourenco to rehearse exactly what they were going to s\y about their description of the phantom abductor ('Not a tourist' etc. etc.), and then
7. The group told Lourenco to ring the PJ just as the Krokowskis' plane was taking off from Faro Airport, and then
8. Suppose that Goncalo Amaral and his colleagues fell for this cleverly-constructed lie....
(quote 'Truth About A Lie'):
POLISH LEAD IN SAGRES
Hundreds of statements continue to be gathered in Vila da Luz. All the people of the area are interviewed: resort employees, tourists, play leaders from the crèches, residents. Most of them will be of no use to us, but none must be neglected.
From information from Sagres, we learn that an individual has been surprised on Mareta beach taking photos of several children and in particular of a little girl aged 4, blonde with blue eyes, who looks like Madeleine. It was the little girl's father who noticed him. This 40 year-old man, wearing glasses, tells the investigators that the photographer tried to kidnap his daughter in the afternoon of April 26th in Sagres.
He allegedly then fled in a hired car with a woman in the passenger seat. The stranger did not look like a tourist; brown hair down to his collar, wearing cream-coloured trousers and jacket and shoes of a classic style. This report reminds us of the individual encountered by Jane Tanner in the streets of Vila da Luz on the evening of Madeleine's disappearance.
Thanks to the father's composure, he managed to take a photograph of the vehicle. It's not very clear and does not allow us to make out the number plate, but we succeed, nonetheless, in finding the car. The car hire firm provides us with the identity of the driver. He is a forty-year-old Polish man, who is traveling with his wife. They arrived in Portugal on April 28th, from Berlin. At Faro airport, they hired a car and put up in an apartment in Budens, near Praia da Luz. Unfortunately, on May 5th, at 7am, they had already left, taking with them their camera and all the photos from their holiday. We ask the German police, through Interpol, to monitor them as soon as they arrive in Berlin. All the passengers are questioned, but no one has seen a child looking like Madeleine. In Berlin, the couple take the train to return to Poland. Thus, the Polish trail comes to an end.

@ TB
The point that I was trying to make ( and not very successfully by the look of it ) was that if the Portuguese Police had been informed of the Polish couple AFTER Kate’s comment that Madeleine had been taken by a couple , this would confirm pre planning, would it not?

Re; the Mail on Sunday.
Hi Tony, thanks your article,I don't suppose you have informed the Mail on Sunday, that they have a Polishman and his Wife, attempt to Kidnap a child on April the 26th 2007,when he was admitted to enter Portugal on the 28th April 2007?

Now you've explained this in more detail, I think you have made an excellent and very valid point which I had not considered before.
Suppose it is right that something serious happened to Madeleine Sunday or Monday - and suppose that a plot was put in place for Jane Tanner and Nuno Lourenco to describe a phantom abductor but based on a real person, Wochiech Krokowski.
Then yes, absolutely, both Kate and Gerry claiming to others on the night of 3rd May or during 4th May that Madeleine had been abducted by a couple of paedophiles makes perfect sense - and harmonises with my 'Krokowski hypothesis'

In a bit of a rush - just came across this, sorry if it's already been posted..
9 December
British police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have arrived in Portugal to assist Portuguese authorities with the questioning of 11 "key witnesses".
Detectives from Scotland Yard have flown to Faro as part of Operation Grange and will spend three days overseeing the questioning of four British people and seven Portuguese citizens.

This reads like a repetition of past news reports justifying the continuation of Operation Grange but was published five days ago.

This year the twins hit "big school". Are the parents going to be able to stem the publicity? I doubt it. They are at the mercy of their soon to be teenage peers. How disgusting is it that these two children are going to be forced to project the lies of their vile parents.

First thing I thought when I saw it earlier - 'allo 'allo 'allo that sound familiar, like the last time Operation Grange were going to Portugal to re-interview Robert Murat. Sure enough now I look again it is the same report than was spewed forth back in November 2014..Doug D wrote:Last years story that has pulled up a 'this year' date somehow.

Nothing but sloppy online reporting from 'The Week'.

I shouldn't be surprised if the twins are already clued up as to online discussion about their big sister's disappearance. Parental control is a bit of a joke really, even if the twins online activity is restricted by their parents at home, there's nothing to stop their curiosity outside the home environment. They must see newspaper headlines when out and about, aside from anything their school mates might be feeding them.Lands_end wrote:This year the twins hit "big school". Whether or not they 'project' their parent's storyline is a matter for conjecture - I wouldn't like to second guess how far they've been indoctrinated in the domicile nor how mature they are to start asking awkward questions. Somehow I don't think that aspect of the McCanns private life will ever be made public.
Whatever, the twins are destined for a future of uncertainty - I just hope they have the strength to overcome adversity because that's all they've got to look forward to.
