A while back the owner published the breakdown costs to show as people donated, so all above board. Personally it's worth donating to support so that it can stay online for "prosperity" smilie

There's a 'contact us' link on the site where you could email them and ask.

I've now had this reply:

Hi Jill
The next bill due is at the end of September for Webspace £161.51 this space is the home for the main Portuguese images. (We are almost there)

A slow trickle over the months is always the best option as bills are staggered throughout the year.

Other expenses are due later in the year so that is not a problem as yet. These work out at approx £30 per month.

but it ain't that simple, it's apparently still processed through the PayPal system so without card validation by PayPal the transaction isn't accepted. Been this way before hence my original application for a PayPal account.

Thankee but it ain't that simple, it's apparently still processed through the PayPal system so without card validation by PayPal the transaction isn't accepted. Been this way before hence my original application for a PayPal account.

I donated this morning using my debit card. I didn't donate via PayPal.

Use the drop down menu to select method of payment

I did all that earlier today but it still came up with the same message - perhaps they think I'm a big 'iffy.

I'll have another bash later when I've got time for a bout of wrestling.

Did you click the 'Log in to PayPal' thingy?

You don't need to do that.

I've got a redundant PayPal account, and was kinda expecting problems after what you and Verdi said, so just went straight to the drop down menu...no problem at all.

Now I've got meself stuck in a half-nelson Hissyfit

Totally ignoring anything PayPal, now tried half a dozen times to no avail - I think it must be a glitch with the website. The first attempt this morning there wasn't a drop down list, just a Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover logo, as I typed in the card number the latter three faded and left only the Visa logo visible - my card is Visa. That didn't work.

This time around a drop list did appear so I selected Visa, typed in all the other necessary info but it still wouldn't process. Message reads..

Your credit or debit card has been declined for this transaction; Paypal could not validate the card. Please verify that the information you entered is correct or try a different credit or debit card.

I did and it didn't.

Told you - 'iffy aaaah

! Patience is not my virtue, as you've probably noticed.

Worked fine for me yesterday, but I can only pay on-line using my credit card.

With my debit card there was a secondary security thing when I first tried to use it on-line and it has never allowed me to pay on-line since. Same for my wife. It works fine in shops & ATM's though.

Mine is a debit card and was fine. Like GMcC I do not possess a credit card laughat

I was able to use my debit card too. Just had to add a phone number to make transaction work. Only could put a little in, but mccannpjfiles.com is essential for access to so very much material. Thanks Pamalam, for what you have done, along with Jill and all other contributors to "justice" for little Madeleine.

A big thank you to all that have donated to my site MCCANN PJ FILES.
We now have enough donations to get us over the initial crisis, and everything is now ticking over nicely.

There seems to be confusion over which site is being donated to.

My site is MCCANN PJ FILES

Nigel’s site is MCCANN FILES.

It is MCCANN PJ FILES that was asking for donations

NOT Nigel’s site @ MCCANNFILES.

But to be fair to Nigel I would presume that he is grateful for donations also.

A big thank you to all who have donated, I cannot believe how generous people are.

It's no good I'll have to give up, just tried another half dozen times (even using a different card) and still the payment won't process.

As well they don't need my money - at the moment.
