I'd like to comment on the Gaspars' statement. I do not know whether it is true or not, they could have been mistaken or, for whatever reason, lying. However, for now let's go with the theory that they did hear correctly what David Payne said to Gerry McCann. . I don't think that anyone else has raised the point that, for a man to make a remark like that, he would need to be 100% sure that he was speaking to a fellow paedophile, "one of his own kind". A "normal" father would be outraged and immediately cut himself and his children off from that person forever, not to mention reporting the incident to the police for fear of what is going on in the other family. No way would anyone say it to a casual friend on the off chance that he might agree with you.

I do clothes laundry when I'm on holiday (blush) - I can't stand that getting home and facing a mountain of laundry feeling.

However ... what child do you know who mentions when they have spilt something on their clothes? My kids were dirt magnets at that age and they certainly didn't mention it every time they got a new mark on their clothes.

So KM has mentioned a couple of times that the twins may have been drugged, and yet they had their own tests performed on the twins albeit 3 months later, and they denied this. We know that the twins had had a couple of haircuts since then as per GM's own blogs. This thanks to MM...........................

It is understood the couple’s legal team hired forensic specialists to examine hair samples from the twins, who were in the same room as Madeleine in the Ocean Club apartment in Praia da Luz when she disappeared an May 3, and no trace of sedative was found.

A source close to the legal team said: “It would be logical for tests to be carried out on the twins to show that they have never been given sedatives.

“It would be right to say those tests show no evidence of sedatives in their systems. It backs up Kate and Gerry’s claims that they have never sedated the children and explains why they are so certain they can prove that the allegation is just another smear.”

Bit of a contradiction there isn't it. One minute she is saying they were drugged and then saying not.

Sorry candy, I am trying to do too many things at the time. I know the "dream please test the twins thing" was in August, and IIRC the test performed was back in England , which would be 4 months, so the chance of finding anything would be minute.

ETA: I can't get that link to work, so I don't know what that's about.

In an effort to rebut accusations that she was on medication at the time of the disappearance, hair from Kate was tested in November. Toxicology tests showed no evidence that she had taken drugs in the past eight months. The twins were also tested for sedatives. No traces of sedatives were recorded

Just read this on that site, and I seem to remember Clarence being interviewed and saying words to that effect, hmmmmm, proved right though wasnt' it. It did turn out that Madeleine had asked where they were the night they were crying.

It was reported on 10 April that parts of the McCanns' interviews with the Portuguese police had been leaked. These were reported to include a statement that Madeleine had remonstrated with her mother for leaving the children unattended when they had been crying the previous night. Clarence Mitchell said that the leak was a "deliberate smear" and commented that it was curious that this should emerge on the day that the McCanns were in Brussels promoting a child welfare initiative

Kate had "longish" hair I doubt that the crew cut of the twins would account for 8 months.

A next question of course always is: what did they test ofr?
