The postponement is not expected to be too lengthy, with sources saying that once clarity had been received from Portimão Public Prosecutor Inês Sequeira regarding the legalities flagged by Portuguese police, interviews would be re-scheduled “within ten to 15 days”.
That sounds a lot better . because get to Dec then it will be xmas holidays . and more delays .
Ah but my money's on January anyway when we hear the court ruling for Snr.Amaral. I wonder if the met-PJ will pounce on K&G then, no need for fancy EAW's.

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
I have a feeling one of the reasons SY are keeping a police presence close to the Portuguese is because they fear the Portuguese might try and arrest the McCanns on their soil. Just a theory.

I don`t think so. SY has no jurisdiction in Portugal.

Why would SY fear the Portuguese police arresting the McCanns?

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
No, but they can get in the way, and react immediately by calling the UK government to intervene, scupper and dictate...it's not like that hasn't worked before, is it?mysterion wrote:I don`t think so. SY has no jurisdiction in Portugal.

Are you suggesting OG don't want the Mcs arrested, BG? If they were arrested OG couldn't prevent it, that would be their lawyers call.

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
Absolutely. Well, not officially at any rate. In case you hadn't noticed, OG is going out of its way to point the finger at anyone except the McCanns when there is so much evidence at least to question them and their cronies. They are totally protected and they know it. OG couldn't prevent an arrest by the Portuguese per se, but they could get in the way, mention 'international incidents' and get Dave on the blower to the Portuguese within minutes to 'negotiate' before the thing hit the media. Are you unaware of the interference by the British authorities, including the PM, at the time of the initial investigation? Why do you think it got closed down?Ladyinred wrote:Brian Griffin wrote:Quite right. They wouldn't. Reuters) - Portuguese police have arrested former Socialist prime minister Jose Socrates and three other people in an investigation of suspected tax fraud, corruption and money-laundering, the Prosecutor General's office said on Saturday.
It said in a statement that Socrates, who was detained on Friday, would be brought before a criminal judge for questioning on Saturday regarding an investigation of suspicious banking operations and money transfers.
Portugal's official news agency Lusa said police arrested Socrates at Lisbon airport as he arrived from abroad.
Socrates resigned as prime minister in the middle of his second four-year term in 2011 as an escalating debt crisis forced him to request an international bailout that imposed painful austerity on Portugal.
A snap election that year brought to power the current center-right ruling coalition, which introduced the unpopular austerity measures.
After stepping down, Socrates left for Paris, where he attended a university course. He returned in 2013 to become a regular commentator on RTP state television.
The center-left Socialist party leads in opinion polls ahead of next year's general election.

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
I feel for the alleged suspects they wish to question , the stress of which this impending questioning [with it there names being released to the worlds media ,to be then manipulated by team McCann etc for there own ends , ] We could have another sad situation on our hands .
Looking at the screen header at the top of the page the grubby image of one person in particular strikes me .
One person SY should be questioning is Martin Brunt . if you are reading this , when are you going to put on the record all you know , maybe enlighten us if you have been ordered to be censored in your reporting .
Hiding away waiting to quietly re appear on our screens , will not wash . you have a duty to speak the truth and gain some redemption . Your silence is telling .
IMO

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
Interesting if someone iconoclastic like Sonia P doorstepped Brunt
What would he do ? He would have the choice of explaining a a serious and professional manner, keeping his temper and being moderate and respectful,
perhaps putting off what he was doing and inviting her in for tea, as the last lamented Brenda did.
OR
He could stomp off and throw a paddy.
That would be an interesting confrontation.

Not even from a source!
Are the Mirror helping out Redwood, interrogating people outside of the ILOR’s?
I suppose it would save a lot of trouble and abolish the need to worry about ‘witness’ or ‘arguido’ status!

Exactly.
GWJ only worked at the ocean Club on Wednesdays, and did not do the pool area.
ON Thursday evening he was in the bar in Espiche, where he is well known, and therefore alibied.

Maybe SY is interested to know from the gardener if he is acquainted/friend with Robert Murat?
Just a thought.

Remember, McCannery is a game with two very different sets of rules.

If MB were stupid enough to react in the manner as you believed, that would suit Sonia just fine.
She could jump at the chance to turn it around - to say to the Police that in that case they would have to arrest MB first since she was only copying what he did to BL.
MB can't say it is one rule for him and another rule for Sonia. That won't wash with the Police, or the law for that matter.
If Bunty has the audacity to call the Police should he be doorstepped, he's courting unwanted publicity for himself IMO.

Re: SY delay interviews of 11 suspects
Snipped from Blacksmith.
"...the good news is that this work is well under way. As the Mirror has been telling us, the number of close independent witnesses being questioned is already considerable; according to rumour John Hill, who backed the pair’s claims to the hilt, his wife and Sylvia Batista, perhaps the most important independent witnesses to the break-in and its aftermath, are next in line and will be questioned in December.

John Hill.
The very chap who 'dispelled' the forced window, broken, smashed, jemmied shutter, 'story' within minutes of 'inspection'.
The 'story' that was, by the McCanns, given to relatives, friends, in UK, within hours, to be repeated, by rote, to ALL UK media!
And then, rapidly, within hours of 'speaking' with McCanns says, "John Hill: The parents were regularly checking, errm... through the, errr... the french windows of their apartment, errm... and between, errm... errr... ten... ten o'clock and ten fifteen, errm... the alarm was raised that Maddie was missing from that room."
SIX 'err, erms'!
The John Hill who, luckily, was with super observant MO, (he only missed seeing Madeleine, the once, after all!) when he went with him at 1 pm to JW's apartment totip him the wink hear MO say they didn't need JW's 'eyes' to help search for an 'abducted' child
THAT John Hill?
Who, i have to add, was NOT 'got at'!

DCI Mahogany: "So John, was the shutter of the McCann's apartment, G5A, smashed, jemmied, broken in to, and the window forced, as the McCanns said?"
JH: "No sir, absolutely not, not a mark on either of them, except for only Kate McCann's fingerprint, on the window"
DCI M: "Hmmm, i wonder why the McCanns told their friends and families, straight away, by phonecalls, back in the UK, why they were then? Weird innit?"
JH: "You are the experienced, 30 year career, hard nosed, elite, Metropolitan police detective, you figure out why they lied to their families and friends, that night and the next day, back in the UK, There's a plethora of interviews, statements, videos, all on record, of what their families and friends, in the UK, were told had happened at their apartment"
DCI M: "What? What interviews, statements? My full time team, with over three years investigation, of 38 police staff haven't seen any of them"
JH: "They are all out there and there's also the PJ's released files"
DCI M: "Hmmmm, interesting"
