I agree with those who say that the twins very likely have no recollection of Madeleine, or a very hazy recollection at best. It would depend how much has been said about her at home, and what Kate and Gerry's actions have been over the years (ie, maintaining Madeleine's bedroom as a shrine, arranging gifts on birthdays and Christmas, etc). I tend to think that any memory of their older sister would be in the realm of imagination rather than actual memory. Sort of like a bedtime story about someone who existed before they were born. IMO the twins are unlikely to have any strong personal emotional attachments to Madeleine, as it's just not possible, given how a two year old's mind works and what it's capable of at that age. IMO they may have implanted memories, as a result of Kate and Gerry's diligence, but this is not the same as a true emotional memory based on personal interaction. Just my opinion.

If KM's statement in court today is typical of the way in which she trivialises questions from Sean, the McCanns should indeed be worried about what the twins will ask and what opinions they will have of their parents when they are older.

I have always been very concerned for the twins.
It is one thing to grow up knowing you had an elder sister who died accidentally, but the thought (for a child) that your elder sister was taken from her bed when you were asleep in the same room must have caused many nightmares for them. Absolutely terrifying imo. I do hope they have coped.

On another point - when Gerry was speaking to journalists earlier today he said something about - 'we aren't happy about taking people to court/ or we don't like the litigation' ??????
It was the first time he spoke to the press today, and on Sky News but I couldn't catch it.
Did anyone hear this clearly, it seems to have disappeared. Ty.

SECOND 'news reader' on Sky news (Kay Burley first) has just said "Gerry McCann has said whoever abducted or MURDERED his daughter must of been laughing these last six years"

DID GM say 'murder or murdered'?

That is their big problem SmokeandMirrors.

When they issued the Writ in 2009, the circumstances were entirely different. They had been released from arguido status and there was no threat of a full investigation, it had been shelved and was likely to stay that way. Look how happy they were in the Expresso interview, they believed themselves home and dry.

Five years on, and still no sign of an abductor or any proof that an abduction had taken place. They can spin the final report of the AG all they like, but it does not declare the parents innocent and crucially, no-one has seen Madeleine alive in 7 years.

The McCanns claim Madeleine is alive and no-one is looking for because of Goncalo's book. Five years ago, that might have worked, but with two police investigations and earth literally being moved to find to find her body, it rings pretty hollow now.

Course it is! People have heard about 'Maddie' and there have been sightings for years. The book has made no difference at all, in my estimation. I would have thought all the hoo-ha about the book would have caused more people to want to read it where they might not have otherwise done so.

I don't get why everyone ia expected to be looking for her. I would expect her parents to be doing so, spending every available holiday in PDL searching every square inch, hidey hole, abandoned well etc, but they don't and never actually did as far as I am aware. I would imagine the bad feeling in Portugal toward them started way before Amaral's book for example when they skipped town having been made arguidos. That action spoke volumes and would certainly have damaged the search.

Listening to the news report on LBC radio, 6.00 pm - the reporter made it sound as though the book "had stopped people from looking for Madeleine, because it said so clearly that the child 'was dead'". I know that this is the McCann argument, but I was concerned to hear it reported virtually as a statement of fact, rather than an allegation or speculation. It will be interesting to hear how other news stations present their reports.

Then you wonder why you don't have support. Which planet do you live on?

By contrast think of Ben Needham's mother frequently going out to Greece to try to find out what happened to Ben, or Keith Bennett's mother repeatedly going to Saddleworth Moor to try to locate her son's body.

Unlike certain others, it can't be said of Dr Amaral that he doesn't know how to conduct himself with dignity outside of a court and I eagerly await the transcript of today's proceedings to see how much dignity the McCanns displayed while they were inside a courtroom.

Did Dr Amaral tell these two clowns to leave under 4 year old children on their own while they frolicked with their tapas friends? Does common sense not suggest had they done what every responsible parent does ie stay home with your kids instead of "leaving" doors open and legging it to sit with friends while your kids are alone its a hazard waiting to happen? Its about time these two clowns from the media circus get charged for neglect . The internet revealed the truth now they are scared the general public will know what really happened hence the low "funds" coming into the "fund" . shark
