Clarence Mitchell, Kate and Gerry McCann’s long-serving spokesman, is to launch his own communications consultancy.
Mitchell, who gamely attempted to unseat the the Green party in their Brighton stronghold in a bid to become a Conservative MP at the general election, has opened the doors on Clarence Mitchell Communications.
The 54-year old is a former BBC reporter who most recently worked as head of media for Europe, Middle East and Africa for WPP-owned PR network Burson-Marsteller .
“I’m up and running now and it’s nice being your own boss,” said Mitchell. “It’s a bit of a mix and match and I’m happy to help anyone who needs media assistance – families, individuals and companies.”
In recent years Mitchell has held a number of PR roles, including working at Freud Communications and Lewis PR, while continuing as spokesman for the McCanns.
Madeleine McCann disappeared from a holiday apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in May 2007.
“I will continue to look after the McCann’s interests as and when needed,” he said.

Among his founding clients are JBP, a Westminster strategic PR and public affairs agency, where he will act as a senior consultant.
Mitchell stepped down from his role as director of the media monitoring unit at the government’s Central Office of Information in September 2007 to handle the McCanns’ PR full time.
Before that, he had been acting as an adviser to the McCanns last summer at the request of the Foreign Office, while retaining his government role.
Mitchell was previously head of media monitoring for the Cabinet Office.
He was also a journalist for 25 years, starting out in print and then as a broadcaster with the BBC, covering a variety of stories including the Fred and Rose West murders Gloucester and the Soham murders in Cambridgeshire. As a royal correspondent he covered the death of Princess Diana.

Just an after thought: seeing as how just the mention of his name makes a lot of people :puke:

(apologies if you're eating) and bearing in mind his 'game' but failed attempt at becoming Brighton's MP, perhaps Clary's first client should be himself. He's not a doctor but as he's on familiar terms with a whole group (some suggested collective nouns here below) of them, I'm sure he knows the old adage 'physician heal thyself'!

Clarence is doing very nicely. He's managing director of Burson-Marsteller UK. He joined this company in 2011, and is on a base yearly salary of £146,102.

The brains behind the high profile Find Madeleine campaign, Clarence Mitchell, will be sharing his experiences first hand at IIR Middle East's annual PR Congress this November. Mitchell, who is spokesperson for Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, has worked on a number of high profile murder and missing person cases including working for the families of missing teenager Scarlett MacKeown who was murdered in Goa, and Jimmy Mizen who was stabbed to death in London.

Mitchell, a former BBC journalist and head of media monitoring for the Cabinet Office resigned from the civil service in September 2007 to handle the intense international press interest in the case of Madeleine, who vanished while on holiday with her family in Portugal.

'Find Madeleine' PR guru to visit Dubai Campaign Middle East

The self-proclaimed PR guru who represented the parents of missing British girl Madeleine McCann during the investigation into her disappearance is visiting Dubai to give a talk on crisis management.

Clarence Mitchell appeared frequently in the international media during 2007 and 2008, after being hired to handle the intense interest in the high-profile case of the girl, who went missing from a holiday villa in Portugal.

Mitchell, a former BBC journalist and head of media monitoring at the British government's cabinet office, acted as spokesman for Kate and Gerry McCann, and went on to assist several families involved in missing person and murder cases.

He will speak to delegates at the 5th IIR PR Congress in November, which also presents Kay Luo, senior director of communications at the USA’s Linkedin and Colleen Harris, former press adviser to the Prince of Wales.

It seems that Clarence Mitchell Communications does not have its own website yet.

He promotes himself on the basis of representing the parents of a girl who has been missing for over 8 years and has not yet been found.

On the 'Everything PR' site, the article about Mitchell announces his company as follows:

The site is a strange one. I clicked on the header: 'PR Perspectives' and found that the first article was headed:

The 'Everything PR' group has a Facebook Group, with only one article about it, so far as I can see - and that was about Clarence Mitchell Communications.

So maybe 'Everything PR' and Clarence Mitchell Communications are one and the same?

The article was put up on Facebook on 20 August and 10 days later has had no 'Likes'.

Is there going to be a proper website with contact details?

Will the firm rely on more than just one client?

Will there be a working capital of more than £500

Or is this just another Alphaig type company, falsely advertised via Mitchell and the media as a well established firm of private investigators?

Who on earth would employ this ~~man~~ clown?

If the best he can do is to associate himself with the McCanns to promote the launch of his latest venture, I suggest it will be a non starter. I know it's customary for bad guys to make good but surely there is reason in all things?

Clarence has earnt so much money off the back of this case. I hope one day he is forced to hang his head in shame.
He has truly profited from this. According to the dogs, M died in the apartment and a death was covered up - enabling CM to earn thousands.
SY have spent over £10 Million - the PJ have spent a vast amount too (I Imagine). The MC Cann Fund has amassed millions and the fund for Amaral is slowly building up too.

I would like to know the vast amount of monmey that has been exchanged in the name of MBM?

Some kind citizens (in hindsight - fools) gave to the No Stone Unturned fund. Some of us have given to our hero Dr Amaral.
Some of us have earnt loads from it - the Home Office has paid millions in the name of Op Grange -

Why?? for a sham / cover up / farce

What is the world coming to that we have allowed this to happen? Please - someone see sense and draw this to a close.
Whoever the cover up was intended to protect, are they really worth it?
