I believe that the parent's of little lost Madeleine McCann can be considered very fortunate indeed.
Their brazen audacity as they stumbled and faltered through four months of status beginning with victim in May 2007 and slowly but surely moving towards arguido, loosely speaking prime suspects, in September 2007. They were allowed, even assisted by UK authorities, to swiftly leave Portugal despite the stormy cloud hanging over their heads. Since then they have luxuriated in celebrity status, the focus of demand for the television studio sofa and unprecedented protection by the UK establishment. Courted by the media at their own instigation; revered by their very own media connections; authors of a best selling novel; sponsored by high profile wealthy business magnates; rubbing shoulders with the aristocracy; named ambassador for a missing persons charity; elevation to professorship - the list is endless ......
That's some feat of good fortune in anyone's book.
They say like attracts like which in many walks of life is true to the word - this masquerade is no exception. The McCann faction has not only attracted the criminal element but they've even engaged their services and paid inordinate sums of money to finance the life of crime.
The case of missing Madeleine McCann is a web of intrigue, not the disappearance of the child per se - that I don't doubt is straightforward in the world of crime against children but the aftermath is more dastardly than any white knuckle roller-coaster ride.
This leads me to the importance of identifying and documenting the various individuals, directly involved and on the periphery, of the case of Madeleine McCann who have since been investigated and/or convicted of criminal activity.
My immediate thoughts turn to Kevin Halligan, not only because he was hired by the Find Madeleine Fund Co Ltd to privately investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann but also because he is a native of the English language, so no scope for hiding behind the language barrier.
To be continued..

Kevin Halligan
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The man brought in to head up the McCanns’ private investigation into Madeleine’s reported disappearance. His firm, Oakley International, was hailed by the McCanns’ chief public relations officer, Clarence Mitchell, as ‘the big boys of international investigation’, a claim the mainstream British press reported uncritically. However, the McCanns paid Halligen £500,000, only for most of it to be squandered by him on high living and worthless projects. He was in fact a fraudster and expert in money laundering who was wanted for a $2 million fraud in the U.S. Arrested at a £700-a-night Oxfordshire hotel in October 2009, he has since been languishing in Belmarsh top security prison, using Britain’s legal aid budget to fight extradition to the U.S.
[Thanks to Tony Bennett for the above résumé]
Since this, Kevin Halligan was allegedly found dead in his girlfriends home in Surrey, England. The coroner's inquest has yet to be determined.

Mark Williams-Thomas

Mark Williams-Thomas owns his own Child Protection and Risk Management Consultancy - WT Associates Ltd. Prior to setting up WT Associates in 2005, Mark was a police Detective specialising in major crime. He worked on or was in charge of some of the largest paedophile and murder investigations in the country, as well as being was one of only 10 specialist Family Liaison officers during his time in the police. Mark is also completing a Masters in Criminology at the University of Central England. It is understood that he attended the meeting between the FFS and the Portuguese forensic team at Leicester police station on 29th November.
Mark Williams-Thomas who claims to have left the police service in order to expose (excuse the inference) Jimi Saville.
Mark Williams-Thomas who has repeatedly spoken out in support of the McCanns. After undertaking a personal 'review' of all the evidence from the PJ investigation, even up to more recent times, concluded that Madeleine was the victim of a chance abduction, having wandered from apartment 5a looking for her parents. Also repeatedly publicly attacked the PJ with allegations of incompetence, unprofessionalism and lack of commitment.
According to a report published by the Liverpool Echo in May 2009..
Mr Mark Williams-Thomas said "Is it unreasonable to presume that Madeleine woke up and then went in search of her parents at a restaurant within a holiday complex that she had grown familiar with over the course of her holiday? Neatly tucking up her toys – as her parents had done to her – she slipped out of the apartment through an insecure patio door."
Mr Williams-Thomas criticised several aspects of the Portuguese investigation, including botched searches and a complete failure to secure the crime scene.
He said the reliance on evidence of dogs trained to detect dead bodies was "significant and damaging", leading police to mistakenly focus on the McCanns.
Mr Williams-Thomas said the couple were made suspects, or arguidos, as a result of ambiguous evidence from specially-trained British dogs and their handlers.
Mr Williams-Thomas said: "It is now clear that, after the Portuguese police failed to establish or identify any possible suspects during their initial investigation, and when they came under increasing pressure to resolve the case, they turned their attention on to Madeleine’s parents.
"In particular, they over-relied on the evidence of the dog team – such as it was, and it was this that prompted them to make Gerry and Kate McCann arguidos.
"In short, they concentrated on their theory that Madeleine had been accidentally killed and that her parents had later hidden her body.
"Although how they would have been able to have done this does not seem to have been considered by the Policia Judiciara."
Mark Williams-Thomas who had to publicly admit (for whatever reason) that the 'make-up' photograph of Madeleine McCann was ill-advised. He who, through his line of work, almost certainly had connections with Jim Gamble ex of the CEOP.
Mark Williams-Thomas, former Surrey constabulary copper turned investigative journalist cum television presenter; TV personality; commentator; criminologist extraordinaire - the hunter turned hunted.
Mark Williams-Thomas now himself under police surveillance in connection with his involvement in the Jonathan King investigation - Jonathan King the child sex abuser.

Metodo3
Shortly after reporting Madeleine missing, the McCanns very carefully and quickly selected Metodo3, a Spanish detective agency based in Barcelona, to privately investigate their daughters alleged abduction, despite the organisation having no experience of investigating missing people.
The organisation was payed a considerable sum of money (exact amount never confirmed) for their services from the Find Madeleine Co Ltd, the fund set up by the family to finance an independent search for their daughter Madeleine. At the time, it was illegal in Portugal to run a private investigation at the same time as an official police investigation was active.
This is Metodo3, whose principal investigators went to prison for 4 years
Francisco Marco:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Was appointed in September 2007, or possibly earlier, by the McCanns and their advisers, to head their much-vaunted ‘search for Madeleine’. He was the boss of the disreputable downtown Barcelona detective agency, Metodo 3. The agency had been in constant trouble with the authorities, having been caught up in a telephone tapping scandal in the 1990s, when all their top staff were arrested. During the period leading up to Christmas 2007, his staff did not look for Madeleine. They were busy promoting fake sightings to keep up the pretence that Madeleine had been abducted. In the lead-up to Christmas, he was exposed as a serial, and practiced liar. He said he knew Madeleine was alive. He maintained his men ‘knew where she was being held’. He claimed his men were ‘closing in on the kidnappers’, and finally promised that ‘Maddie will be home by Christmas’. These were all outright lies.
(Strangely the lawyers for the McCanns denied in writing that he had said this, only later to realise that Kate had included it in her book)

Who admitted in his book Cortina de Humo that he had been paid to invent sightings of Madeleine in Morocco
Metodo 3:
Was investigated for money laundering after receiving € 30,000 from a socialist politician, allegedly to prepare a report on a hazelnut farm, which they simply copied from the internet.

Henri Exton
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Henri Exton is a former Greater Manchester Police undercover officer. From 1991, he worked for MI5. In 2002, he was arrested for shoplifting. Whilst working on an MI5 surveillance operation, Exton was caught leaving a tax-free shopping area at Manchester airport with an expensive item he hadn’t paid for. The police were called. He was given the option of the offence being dealt with under caution, or face prosecution. He chose a police caution, thereby admitting his guilt. He was sacked by MI5. Furious at the decision to dismiss him, Exton then threatened to sue MI5 [cite MMRG].
Henri Exton, said to be instrumental in the production of the two e-fits publicised by former DCI Andy Redwood during the Crimewatch 2013 Madeleine McCann Special. Henri Exton was working with Oakley International, the organisation engaged by the McCann team to investigate the alleged abduction of their daughter, Madeleine.
Oakley International being the maverick 007 styled investigators headed by Kevin Halligan. It is understood that Exton parted company with Oakley International on very bad terms concerning monies owed to him by Oakley International.
NB: In the interest of fair play, this was published by the Evening Standard on 30th July 2010..
Henri Exton
In August 2009 we said that Mr Exton was guilty of shoplifting and that he was sacked as a result.
Although he was cautioned, we accept that the caution was rescinded. He was not sacked and continued to work until he decided to retire. We apologise for the error.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The true reason behind this apology is a matter for conjecture.

You are welcome.
It is good to bring these old features out from time to time, partly to refresh people's memories, and important to check whether anything else has come to light since, which might cause us to reconsider, re-write, or delete and apologise for the items concerned.
This has happened to me. The provenance of the second camera - the Olympus - became clear after I had posted an analysis on the E-book - and here. The extra evidence eliminated that camera entirely, and made the argument much tighter than it had been. I amended the documents in question to clarify the point.
As with all scientific research we must be alert to counter arguments and to evidence which speaks against the hypotheses or theory we are working on. A single piece of evidence showing clearly how an 'abduction' could have taken place would be enough to stop speculation, for example.
So far, however, not one person has been able even to suggest or invent a coherent scenario.

Unfortunately, that even includes some former police officers/detectives (Mark Williams-Thomas, Ian Horrocks, Colin Sutton, Andy Redwood, Jim Gamble, Mark Rowley etc).PeterMac wrote:You are welcome.

Is it possible for you to explain without being on location, so to speak? If it's a case of being on-site to understand, can't you talk us through, perhaps with diagrams/photographs?ShiningInLuz wrote:Kindly revisit Luz, let me know so we can meet up, and I'll be more than happy to show you how.
Having organised tours of the area for tourists, you must now be able to do the circuit and commentate in your sleep.
It would be very helpful if you could at least give some idea to give us something to work on.
Thanks.

Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor was a leading figure in the Catholic church during his four decade vocation, probably his greatest claim to fame was his influence with the group that helped elect Pope Francis in 2013. He held the honorary position of Archbishop of Westminster between the years 2000 and 2009 His godly work is legendary within the Catholic faith, a figure who may well in future years be bestowed a sainthood for services to the god.
However, despite his exemplary career in the church, his death in September 2017 left a nasty stain on his memory - for no other reason but child sex abuse. An accusation was made against Cardinal Murphy O'Connor by a woman who claimed she was abused by him when she was 13/14 years of age but the sordid affair was allegedly hushed by Pope Francis and the church.
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor was also suspected of covering-up child sex abuse within the Catholic Church.
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor, according to the McCanns government spin doctor, was instrumental in the organisation of the McCanns well documented visit to the Vatican in the summer of 2007.

Mark Williams-Thomas
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
A former policer officer serving Surrey police, retired from service - or perhaps asked to clear his desk by the end of the day. He is now a self professed journalist, television documentary producer and private investigator. He is also said to be a leading figure in cases of child abuse - that's some achievement for a police officer who left the service for unconfirmed reasons. He claims to have left the police force because of his work uncovering the truth about Jimmy Savile but that's yet to be officially verified.
Mark Williams-Thomas was never officially assigned to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. This simple point however never stopped him commenting on the case in the public arena - from my own recollection, vacillating more than a trifle with his opinions.
At present I can't locate a police or court document to confirm any of the cloud that shrouds this man's credibility, so this press report will have to suffice until further notice. It contains quotes allegedly from the court judge, therefore in my view shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
A former police officer in the Jonathan King case who is now a TV documentary reporter offered to sell the names of the pop mogul’s victims, according to a judge.
Investigative reporter Mark Williams-Thomas, who made his name in a documentary exposing Jimmy Savile, has claimed to have solved a number of high-profile cases, including the murder of TV host Jill Dando.
But yesterday his professional reputation was called into question after Judge Deborah Taylor delivered a withering assessment of his previous work for Surrey Police on the King case. before he left the force in October 2000 Mr Williams-Thomas was the detective who interviewed the first man to accuse King of sexual assault. He was subsequently accused – and acquitted – of blackmail in an unrelated case.
Yesterday the judge said: ‘During the investigation into that offence a document was found on his computer offering for sale names and introductions to victims of Mr King.
‘There was also information that prior to Mr King’s arrest, Williams-Thomas said that he had been provided by a journalist with information about King. Williams-Thomas left taking his contemporaneous notebooks of his involvement with inquiries into Mr King with him.
‘No attempts had been made to obtain them, although it is the Crown’s position that he should not have taken them with him as they were the property of Surrey Police.’
The judge added that it had been suggested ‘there was deliberate concealment of his previous prosecution and of the documents indicating attempts to gain financial advantage from selling details of Mr King’s case’. Yesterday Mr Williams-Thomas denied ever knowing the victims’ identities, or offering them for sale.
The ex-officer, who is working with Simon Cowell’s production company on a crime investigation series, said: ‘I have for the first time today been made aware that my name has been mentioned in a ruling by HHJ Deborah Taylor in the case against Jonathan King.
‘I am with immediate effect making contact with the CPS to seek clarification on these matters.’
Selling victims’ details would constitute an offence of misconduct in a public office. The maximum penalty is life in prison.

No smoke without fire eh? Whatever you think or don't think, Mark Williams-Thomas has used the name of Madeleine McCann to further his career when he himself was walking under a cloud of suspicion.

Jim Gamble and the CEOP

The reason why the McCanns swiftly introduced the 'abduction by paedophile' angle so soon after their daughters alleged disappearance remains a mystery. There could be a number of reasons why this might be, left only to speculation on the part of the observer.
Whatever that reason, Jim Gamble the ex-director of the CEOP soon featured in the ongoing charade that so robustly promoted the 'abduction by paedophile' scenario. A strange move in itself considering he is said to be a professional, a leading light in the fight against child sex abuse and online grooming. There was no evidence to suggest that Madeleine McCann had been abducted nor that she was being held captive by a paedophile - or sold on so why the need for the CEOP to be involved - involved from very early on I might add.
A quick summary of Jim Gamble's background..
James Gamble, QPM, is a senior British Police officer from Bangor in County Down, Northern Ireland. He is the former chief executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP), a police unit affiliated to the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) in the United Kingdom. He resigned in October 2010 after the Home Secretary Theresa May's decision to merge CEOP with SOCA and other bodies into a new National Crime Agency. Mr Gamble wanted CEOP to remain independent.
Gamble led the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) fight against child sex abuse. He also presided over Operation Ore. He led the work to set up the National Crime Squad's specialist response cell – the Paedophile and Online Investigation Team (POLIT). He was awarded the Queen's Police Medal (QPM) in the New Year Honours 2008.
[wikipedia]
In the early days of the McCanns own private investigation, Jim Gamble pleaded for holidaymakers in and around Praia da Luz at the same time as the McCanns and their friends, to send their holiday photographs to a special place on the internet that he established for the purpose. Although it was said to be to assist the investigation, the true reason has never been established, it's not even known if any photographs were sent on to the Portuguese or UK police. No evidence of any photographs has yet materialized.
Jim Gamble was also specially selected by former Home Secretary Alan Johnson, again the true reason behind this decision has never been established, to produce a confidential 'scoping exercise' - again, the true reason for this extraordinary decision is unknown.
There is no shortage of documented information to secure a firm belief that Jim Gamble was very deeply involved with events following the alleged disappearance of Madeleine McCann as both a friend and associate of Gerry and Kate McCann.
Despite all his commendable efforts towards tracking down paedophiles, reports suggest there is a heavy black cloud shrouding his godly reputation - the seemingly illegal undercover (?) operation undertaken in Cambodia back in October 2010..
CEOP Conspiracy
In October 2010, Jim Gamble, the former CEO of the British Child Exploitation and Online Protection unit (CEOP), came to Prey Sar prison in Cambodia.
This would be acceptable of course, if CEOP had evidence of a crime or some kind of official capacity in the prison.
The fact is that the FCO, a recognised CEOP partner, has no record of any agreements between CEOP and Cambodian authorities.

Other than the Red Cross and a few medical NGO’s, no visitors are permitted inside Prey Sar.
Undercover persecution
Jim Gamble actually came to Prey Sar for another purpose.
He entered Prey Sar, under the guise of a NGO filming prison conditions.
As a senior British police officer;
– he did not identify himself
– he did not brief detainees on their rights
– he did not explain the purpose of his unauthorised visit to Prey Sar prison.

Jim Gamble, under cover, abusing prisoner rights
He abused his position, in order to persecute British, pre-trial detainees and as a result, also upset local detainees.
Torture
The unlawful actions of Jim Gamble could be described as degraging treatment, under the UN Convention Against Torture (CAT).
However, the British embassy will not support the victims of this action, despite the strong FCO position on acts of torture, inhuman and degraging treatment or punishment.
Perverting the course of justice
While in Cambodia and undercover Prey Sar prison, Jim Gamble produced a tabloid TV show with the American network CNN.
For this production, Jim Gamble also visited the NGO AFESIP, otherwise known as the Somly Mam foundation.
This NGO has hit regular headlines during the past years, regarding false statements and donor extortion.

Mark Williams-Thomas
From 2003
Man 'blackmailed funeral firm'
A journalist blackmailed a funeral firm by threatening to publish claims more than one person was buried in the same grave, a court has heard.
Freelance reporter Mark Williams-Thomas demanded money from the chief executive of Dignity Funerals, Chichester Crown Court was told.
Miss Henrietta Padget, prosecuting, told the jury that at least three newspapers and a TV station were said by Mr Williams-Thomas to have been ready to run the story.
He claimed a former Dignity employee had told him bodies had been buried "inappropriately" at a cemetery in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Blackmail claim
Mr Williams-Thomas, of Beech Lane, Hindhead, Surrey, denies a charge of blackmail.
The court was told he had arranged to meet the chief executive of Dignity, Peter Hindley, at the Gatwick Hilton in January 2002.
"Mr Thomas told Mr Hindley that the story was ready to go and that newspapers and TV were interested," she said.
"He said he was a businessman trying to sell a story, and that if Mr Hindley bought the story that would be the end of the matter.
"He said if they bought it he would take care of it."
Miss Padget said the defendant's demands added up to blackmail.
The trial continues.

Mark Williams-Thomas, ex-Surrey Police Constable - Bringing the Force, and the Service, into Disrepute
Snipped from a letter CMOMM sent in 2013:
ex- Surrey PC. Mark Williams-Thomas.
Bringing the Force, and the Service, into Disrepute.
Mark Williams-Thomas’ name crops up in various places. He bills himself as an “expert in Child abuse”, and refers back to his service in the Surrey Police, when it seems he was a DC for a short time and a Family Liaison Officer, also for a short time. [3]
It is recorded that he was prosecuted for Blackmail, one assumes by Surrey Officers, and although acquitted left the Force in 1990 under circumstances which he has never explained. From what we can gather he completed only 11 or 12 years service. Strangely he claims to have been re-employed by Surrey Police as a DC for one year in 2009, and also claims to have worked whilst in the police on child protection variously for 12 years, and for 20 years. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
He previously claimed that he single-handedly brought the Savile case to the notice of the public. He has pontificated on several other cases and has said that he is engaged in viewing Child Pornography on the internet “for research purposes”. He has not made it clear that he is among the persons authorised to do so. [5]
But one of his more damaging claims is that whilst he was in Surrey Police he ‘led’ a number of murder and national paedophile investigations. [3] [6]
Surrey, like all other forces, operates along ACPO guidelines for the investigation of serious crime, allocating even “simple” murders to DI or DCI, overseen by Det Supt, and that a National Paedophile enquiry would be co-ordinated by the DChSupt, reporting to the ACC Crime and would be on a joint Inter-force Liaison group specially set up for the purpose.
For Mark Williams-Thomas to represent that he, as a junior DC personally ”led” such enquires must cause the general public of Surrey to doubt whether they have been given a proper professional service. This is potentially damaging for the image of Surrey Police and of the Service as a whole.
Whilst anyone is entitled to carve out a professional life after retirement or resignation, and fantasists may not commit offences by their statements - unless thereby they obtain pecuniary advantage - his activities seem to be beyond acceptable, and it may be that the Surrey police should be invited to consider issuing some form of explanatory statement, perhaps in the form of a Press release, to be used at the appropriate moments, in which the true facts about his service and real experience were set out. [7]
It cannot be in the public interest, especially in the currently extremely sensitive areas of child sexual abuse and paedophilia, for a person to make bogus claims about his expertise, based on a series of false statements about his service as a Surrey Police Officer.

Let us look at just one of those who has driven the hysteria over Sir James Savile and who claims he "exposed " the truth in his TV tabloid show "Exposure" when what he actually did was present a series of claims.
Mark Williams-Thomas is described repeatedly as a "child protection expert". Even Australia's respected ABC program 4 Corners introduced him as such.
He has no justification for making the claim and offering himself up as an expert on how to protect children.
The truth about Mark Williams-Thomas is this he was a uniformed police officer on the beat for 9 years with the Surrey Police.
He graduated to Detective Constable - a role he held for only nine months before he left the Surrey Police under unexplained circumstances.
No detective constable in any police force around the world conducts police investigations. Rather they are part of a team with an Inspector (at the least) overseeing an inquiry. A DC could be answering phones, chasing up addresses, sitting in a car with another officer watching a suspect.
Yet the media has blithely accepted Williams-Thomas exaggerated claim that implies he was a major investigator on a number of important cases including the jailing of celebrity Jonathan King who oddly, was not the subject of any investigation until after Williams-Thomas left the force.
It would be prudent not to ask Williams-Thomas former colleagues at the Surrey Police what they think of him taking all the credit for the team's hard work.
This eight-month former DC then popped up with a company "advising' on child protection, a subject of which he had no specific knowledge of apart from his own self appointed, non-existent qualifications.
Two companies he set up were closed down.

"Bringing with him his wealth of experience as hands on former Detective, Mark Williams-Thomas is able to provide a new dimension to many of the criminological problems facing today's society – for example, how the police investigate major crime and the risk management of sex offenders in the community.” His expertise includes in particular risk management and assessment of offenders and he now owns his own Child Protection and Risk Management Consultancy - WT Associates Ltd. Prior to setting up WT Associates in 2005, Mark was a police Detective specialising in major crime. He worked on or was in charge of some of the largest paedophile and murder investigations in the country, as well as being was one of only 10 specialist Family Liaison officers during his time in the police. Mark is also completing a Masters in Criminology at the University of Central England."

He began his police career in Surrey in 1989, where he was a detective and family liaison officer. He launched the high-profile investigation into the singer and record and TV producer Jonathan King in 2000, leading to his conviction in 2001 for abusing boys, and led a local inquiry into paedophilia.
Williams-Thomas has described himself as a "doer" during his 11 years in the force and was once told by a superior that he was a "nightmare to manage".

Re: Prime Suspects (Arrested Developments)
Sir Clement Freud
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Sir Clement Raphael Freud - a British broadcaster, writer, politician and chef. The grandson of Sigmund Freud and brother of Lucian Freud. A national treasure it could be said, as has been said of so many personalities who have turned out to be anything but treasured.
A member of the notorious Freud dynasty with more skeletons in the closet than Edgar Allen Poe's infamous Rue Morgue. There could of course be reason to follow the lineage of this great family to understand why there has always been a cloud of suspicion over the prevalent lifestyle of the most known members of the family.
Here however we need not concern ourselves with any of the family but that of Sir Clement Freud for one reason only - his connection with Gerald and Kate cCann. Clement Freud, a well know public figure whose professional (for want of a better word) life covered a spectrum of diverse social skills, in particular as what would now be known as a celebrity chef - leaving aside advertising dog food.
Documented evidence, or maybe only hearsay, suggests that Clement Freud contacted the McCanns, out of the blue, in the summer of 2007 inviting them to dine with him and share a glass or two. I'm inclined to believe that this social arrangement was by the hand of Clarence Mitchell, the UK government's media monitoring director at the time, who was never far from the scene of action but that's only speculation.
Gerald and Kate McCann apparently visited the villa occupied by Clement Freud on more than one occasion although I can't confirm the veracity of this second hand information, nor indeed just how friendly they became. One thing is for sure, the McCanns did visit Clement Freud by invitation in the summer of 2007, after the disappearance of their daughter, Madeleine.
Clement Freud died in 2009, only two years after the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and his rumoured friendship with Gerald and Kate McCann - oh how they laughed! He doesn't rest in peace - his memory is sullied by claims of child abuse from past decades, paedophilia is the common term I believe.
This paedophile word is never far from the mystery of Madeleine McCann's disappearance, both by inference instigated by the McCanns themselves and through people associated with them far and wide.
When in deep trouble, a situation the McCanns found themselves in back in the summer of 2007, look to the most influential people in the land and all your problems will disappear - who wants to take on money and influence, to fight a losing battle. At least not until they die!
Sir Clement Freud exposed as a paedophile as police urged to probe Madeleine McCann links
Martin Evans and Gordon Gaynor 15th June2016
Sir Clement Freud, the former broadcaster and politician, was exposed on Tuesday night as a paedophile who sexually abused girls as young as 10 for decades.
Freud, who died in 2009, spent years abusing a girl who he brought up as a daughter, and violently raped a teenager while he was an MP.
His widow, Lady Freud, has apologised to his victims, saying she is “shocked, deeply saddened and profoundly sorry” for what her husband of 58 years did to them.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]n have been alerted to the fact that Freud had a villa in Praia da Luz, Portugal, the resort where the three-year-old went missing in 2007.
He befriended the McCanns in the weeks after their daughter went missing, entertaining them at his house on two occasions and keeping in contact by phone and email.
The McCanns are said to be “horrified” by the discovery that Freud was a paedophile.
His family, who include the PR executive Matthew Freud, have said that Freud was not in Portugal at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance and that they have not been contacted by police.
However, officers from Operation Grange, the ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance, are expected to assess the new information before deciding if it may be relevant to the inquiry.
Freud was unmasked as a child sex abuser after one of his victims contacted ITV’s Exposure documentary team, who also broke the story of Jimmy Savile’s paedophilia four years ago.
orking at a hotel in the South of France, and started abusing her when she was 10.
Four years later, following a family crisis, her mother asked Freud and his wife Jill if they would look after Mrs Woosley, and she found herself living under the same roof as her abuser, being brought up as a daughter. The abuse continued until she managed to move away when she was 19.
Another woman told ITV that Freud started abusing her in the 1970s, when she was 11, and eventually raped her when she was 18, by which time he was a Liberal MP sharing an office with Cyril Smith,[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. The rape was so brutal that his victim bled for a week.
Both women’s accounts have been passed on to the Metropolitan Police.
Lady Freud said: “This is a very sad day for me. I was married to Clement for 58 years and loved him dearly. I am shocked, deeply saddened and profoundly sorry for what has happened to these women. I sincerely hope they will now have some peace.”
Freud, who was knighted in 1987, was best known as a popular panellist on the Radio 4 show Just a Minute from 1967 until his death in 2009.
The grandson of the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and the brother of the painter Lucian Freud, he worked his way into the heart of British society, and when he died the then Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, was among the mourners at his funeral.
His five children include Matthew Freud and the broadcaster Emma Freud.
The Metropolitan Police did not respond to questions about Operation Grange, but former murder squad detective Colin Sutton said: "If this is something that investigators had not been aware of then it would be certainly a potential line of inquiry that would be worth pursuing.
"It is not something that ought to be taken lightly and you would also want to look any connections he may have had in the area at the time."
A spokesman for the McCann family said they had not until now been aware of Freud’s child abuse and were not aware that he had ever been investigated by Operation Grange.

Sir Philip Green
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Sir Philip Green’s act of kindness to the McCanns was to loan them the use of his private jet to fly to Rome, on 30 May 2007, to have a brief meeting with the Pope in St. Peter’s Square, a very public event beamed across the world. Green represents the worst face of capitalist greed in today’s Britain. Widely scorned by today’s tabloids as ‘Sir Philip Greed’, or ‘Sir Greedy’, his greatest crime was to sell the BHS retail empire for £1, having milked it of hundreds of millions siphoned into the bank accounts of himself and his wife, a Monte Carlo resident. Sir Philip Green Behind Sexual Harassment, Bullying Allegations in Daily Telegraph
The Topshop tycoon has been revealed to be the subject of an investigation by The Telegraph, which details sexual, racial and bullying allegations.
LONDON — The billionaire Topshop owner Sir Philip Green has found himself mired in controversy, once again.
Green, one of Britain’s richest individuals, is the subject of an eight-month investigation by The Daily Telegraph, which has accused him of sexual and racial harassment and bullying.
Green managed to get an injunction against The Telegraph earlier this week, preventing the newspaper from revealing his identity, but Lord Peter Hain, the former Leader of the House of Commons, used his parliamentary privilege to reveal Green’s name.
“Having been contacted by someone intimately involved in the case of a powerful businessman using non-disclosure agreements and substantial payments to conceal the truth about serious and repeated sexual harassment, racist abuse and bullying, which is compulsively continuing, I feel it’s my duty under parliamentary privilege to name Philip Green as the individual in question,” Hain told the House of Lords on Thursday.
According to the Telegraph allegations, there are five cases where Green paid “substantial amounts to his victims” and had them sign confidentiality agreements to prevent them from speaking up.
He is also said to have spent up to 500,000 pounds in legal fees, fighting The Telegraph in the U.K. Court of Appeals.
In a statement, Green “categorically and wholly” denied all allegations and said he will not be commenting on court proceedings.
“Arcadia and I take accusations and grievances from employees very seriously and, in the event that one is raised, it is thoroughly investigated,” he added. “Arcadia employs more than 20,000 people and in common with many large businesses sometimes receives formal complaints from employees. In some cases, these are settled with the agreement of all parties and their legal advisers. These settlements are confidential so I cannot comment further on them.”
The allegations have reignited the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] conversation in the U.K. and have also begun a debate on the use of confidentiality agreements or NDAs.
Prime Minister Theresa May said she will be reviewing the use of these agreements, as it is “clear” that some employers have been using them for unethical reasons.
This is the second scandal to hit Green over the past two years. In 2016, he faced five investigations into the collapse of his former retailer BHS, and its pension fund deficit.
In February 2017, Green put an end to months of drama, bad press and damage to his reputation by filling the pension fund hole at BHS with a voluntary contribution of up to 363 million pounds.

Rebekah Brooks
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Rebekah Brooks nee Wade, once espoused to the national treasure badboy Ross Kemp - with more dents in the sheets and more skeletons in the closet than the best fraud in the business.
Rebekah Brooks, for some inexplicable reasons, became very endeared to the prime suspects in the disappearance of a three year old child - Gerry and Kate McCann. Maybe she couldn't resist Professor Gerald's magnetic charm or his wife's childlike innocence, or maybe she was commissioned to protect - wouldn't be the first time I'm sure.
Rumour has it that Rebekah Wade-Kemp-Brooks was the force behind the instigation of Operation Grange, the team set-up to review (that's another story) the case of Madeleine McCann's disappearance back in May (that month again) 2011. Believe what you will but her testimony before the Leveson inquiry was, shall we say, less than convincing.
Leveson Inquiry
Brooks is asked about the serialisation in the Sunday Times and the Sun of a book by Kate McCann, the mother of Madeleine.
Gerry McCann told the inquiry that they were initially "horrified" about the serialisation, but were later convinced after News International pledged to back their campaign if they agreed to the serialisation.
Brooks can't remember how much News International paid for the book serialisation.
"Hundreds of thousands. It wasn't £1m. Half a million maybe?"
She adds: "I had always got on very well with Gerry and Kate McCann. I think if asked they would be very positive about the Sun. In this case I thought Dominic Mohan's idea to run the campaign, this review of Madeleine's case by the home secretary, was the right thing to do … I don't think I spoke to Theresa May directly. Dominic [Mohan] may have done."
12.52pm: Brooks says she did not take the McCann issue up with Downing Street.
Editor Dominic Mohan or Tom Newton-Dunn, the Sun's political editor, will have spoken to No 10 or the Home Office about reopening the Madeleine investigation after the Sun's campaign, she says.
Was there an ultimatum or threat to the home secretary?
"I'm pretty sure there will not have been a threat, but you will have to ask Dominic Mohan," she says.
Jay says he has been told that Brooks intervened personally with the prime minister and said the Sun would put Theresa May on the front page every day until the paper's demands were met.
Brooks says that is not true. "I did not say to the prime minister we would put Theresa May on the front page every day. If I'd had any conversations with No 10 directly they would not have been particularly about that," she adds.
12.55pm: Lord Justice Leveson intervenes. He asks whether Brooks was involved in a strategy to threaten No 10 in order to obtain a review of the Madeleine investigation.
"I was certainly part of a strategy to launch a campaign in order to get a review for the McCanns," Brooks says, disputing that it was a "threat".
Leveson: "Give me another word for it, would you?"
Brooks: "Persuade?"
Leveson appears unconvinced.
12.57pm: Jay suggests the government yielded to Brooks's pressure to reopen the McCann investigation. "It only took about a day," he notes, drily.
Brooks insists that this was a worthwhile campaign.
...................
A good marketing strategy?
Less than convincing - that's aside from all the other dirty dealings lurking in the lady's closet. Play with fire and expect to get your fingers burned, your past will catch up with you eventually.

Re: Prime Suspects (Arrested Developments)
You would think, with access to huge funds and disreputable people that surely one of them could have come up with something, anything to indicate there had been an abduction.
A fibre even a really smudged print anything even that could not be explained away as coming from the mccanns or tapas 7, cleaners or police.
That nothing has ever reared its head in almost 12 years shows just how thoroughly the mccanns and chums cleaned apt. 5a and how thoroughly the PJ investigated the apartment ensuring that everything had been covered and investigated ensuring anything deliberately added to the crime scene after the initial call or subsequent hours and days.
There was no opportunity nor any possibility that anything found could have been claimed to have been missed such was the thoroughness of the investigating team.
I wonder if they are kicking themselves now, knowing that had such a 'clue' been found, they would not be under the cloud of guilt they find themselves under.
This however behooves them not opening mouths and inserting both feet over the past almost 12 years and telling the world Maddie is dead, they know it was when they were awake, kate telling the world she considered/is considering murder-suicide and other oopsie moments.
They continue to leak the truth the more they try not to.
