I've been having problems with the internet as a whole. It took me over an hour this morning just to log onto Google, that was from about 9.45 onwards, I was nearly tearing my hair out!

I don't know Ange, it's running ok for me, although a few days ago it was very slow, I think forumotion were updating. Perhaps it is the sheer volume of people trying to get on here.

Its absolutely fine for me, no problems whatsoever and quick. Must depend on each individuals computer, cache, processor, internet speed and all that technical stuff

I couldn't get on earlier today.

Then I found that if you keep clicking "retry" on the error page that comes up, eventually you will probably succeed in getting on here. At least, I made it on the third attempt once I realised that.

I'm keeping the page/s open to be on the safe side, though!

Tony, my admiration for you is immense. You stood your ground, were steadfast and true to your cause. You did not yield under tremendous pressure as many of us would.

I saw a tweet about Mr Bennett and navigated my way here to see what’s going on [terrific forum for information by the way]. I’m shocked but not surprised at the latest news. I was interested in this case years ago but threw in the towel because the PR manipulation, political interference and sycophantic media became more than I could stomach. Though it’s a bit late in the day I joined up today to send my good wishes to Mr Bennett and hope all goes well for him. I tried to do so yesterday but eventually had to give up because the forum was overloaded or something. Mr Bennett is the only one in the UK who has had the guts to take this lot on and he deserves the utmost respect for putting himself on the line in an attempt to expose the obvious [to most of us] corruption in this case. The Maddie case is a crucial matter of public interest, not only because of the missing child but for a multitude of other important reasons. This was most definitely a job for the media but it failed dismally in its duty.

British Justice = Loads of Dosh. Sad but true.

I haven't been able to post over the last few days, I feel so angry and confused.

I don't think it was part of the McSpin's plan to ever send Tony to prison. It would have hurt their campaign. But instead they showed mercy and tolerance toward the man who was responsible for "cruel slurs" and "false information". So the tide of anger will turn once again and people will concede they're not such a bad couple after all.

How can we live in a world where this is allowed to happen? I don't think it's about the court costs, it's simply a good investment in ensuring Tony doesn't have the resources to challenge them any further and silence him for good.

I often wonder how the families feel. They scrimped and saved to send them to college so they could better themselves in the world. But instead they've used their unfortunate daughter to make it in the world and offered her up on a plate on P 129.

I wish I had the courage to do what Tony did. Not forgetting that some others revealed their identities to stand beside him. I don't think this is the end. There is too much at stake.

The McCanns had nothing to do with the sentencing of TB, regardless of any media statements made by a mouthpiece. The judge applied the law and their views did not have any bearing on his decision. Will many people believe that a suspended sentence was handed down because of the McCann's wishes?

What the judge said about TB'S theory in court was reported by the mainstream press, people who have not heard about TB will be inclined to read about him , some even more curious will end up navigating the blogs and foruma dedicated to the Maddie case. This is not going to go away because one man was gagged imo.

I agree that TB has paid dearly to simply help find out the Truth and it must in some way have progressed us nearer to finding out what happened to Madeleine by being able to state in Court his reasons in his defence.

However, I do think their statement that " they did not wish to imprison TB" comng at the time it did was simply PR for public consumption. They will now forever be able to say the didn't want imprisonment even though they started committal proceedings in the first place, this will be lost on the majority of the general public.

As one of our astute posters pointed out earlier this week - she wants Mr. A. to feel fear but wants to show compassion to TB after having started commital proceedings. Eerrrrrr I don't get the "logic" of it.

After a long break away from following the case, I felt compelled to follow it again having learnt of Tony's dire situation and seen the odious diatribe against free speech by the McCanns on the Andrew Marr show.

Since then I watched the videos of the McCanns at the Leveson Inquiry on here (which I had studiously avoided until now).

No matter how often I see it happen, I am always shocked by the ingratiating deference shown to the couple. Leveson was practically bowing and scraping in front of them. Why? Is it some of that traditional deference reserved for doctors? Is it because none of the powerful people who meet them know none of the details behind the sordid story of child negligence and have failed to read Kate's vindicative and spiteful account of events in which she seems to blame everyone but herself for Madeleine's fate?
