If there any other sites similar to Pamalan, perhaps we should start downloading the evidence before they get carter-rucked too..these doctors seem to have total powers behind them. Never seen anything like this

Do we know this is the work of Carter Ruck, or could it be just some heavies moving in and having a quiet word with Pamalam, Sargeants etc? Surely free speech hasn't come to such a pass that the victims of such manoeuvres, if that is what they are, cannot even squeak out a "it was xxxxxxx what done it" with their expiring breath, as per the best mystery movies?

Pamalam's already had contact from Carter Ruck a while ago and didn't do anything about it. Now she says she's fed up with the back biting and is taking a break. She doesn't mention CR as being part of the reason for taking a break.

I don't know why she can't leave her site up for reference.

I've emailed Nigel at mccannfiles to ask if he's going to keep his site going. Surely we can't lose both?

Well it's buggered up the section in our library I've just noticed, where we had all of the OC daily run reports. They will all need replacing now and the only site left to get this is McCannpjfiles.

My two cents worth

Am guessing it must be the anti-quarters criticism that was the last straw that broke the camel's back.
Expected invective from the vipers nest and past threat from CR is nothing compared to demoralising snide remarks coming from antis.

I agree with posters who said that something has gone on that we are not aware about.

Maybe there are no sinister reasons and perhaps what with the negativity of the whole McCann situation she just wants a fresh start in 2012.
I know personally how much time I have spent pondering all this, which is a mere drop in the ocean compared to forum creators, researchers etc, and it is compelling and depressing in equal measures and so have been contemplating a determined effort to "shut down" on it and put it out of my head in 2012. It's unfinished business, to be sure, but realistically there is only so much a person can take of such horrible and frustrating stuff, I guess our cut-off points are different though. At least I hope that along those lines lies the answer and she hasn't had anything too upsetting to cope with regarding this, although seeing how ghastly the pro's are on other sites I can well imagine she has been targeted.

But SnM, she said so herself - that she's fed up with the back biting from all quarters!

Since she did not cower to the CR threat in 2009, it cant be that.
And since vicious diatribes from vipers nest is the normal rather than exception, it cant be that too.
So that leaves only one possibility isn't it?
A combination of a bit here and there from all quarters is enough for her to call it a day, especially when it looks as if there are no lights at the end of the tunnel!

Surely there has to be more to this than meets the eye, makes no sense. If you are fed up with all the nonsense then render yourself incommunicado. To effectively destroy all of one's work there must be a greater driving factor than exasperation. After all this time surely someone is in contact with her?

That's true, but she could have asked if someone would like to take over the site and the running costs rather than just pull the plug because she was upset with back biting. Just a few days ago she was merrily posting on twitter that she'd updated her site.

happychick, some people just don't like to relinquish it to anyone else for various reasons.
Look at what beowulf did to 3As despite receiving offers from others to take over! Beowulf is different kettle of fish.

Pamalam on the other hand personally put in tremendous amount of efforts into it.

The option of leaving is as online library is not practical from finance viewpoint (imo) whether it be her money or other people's money to keep it up. Think about it!

I can't imagine pamalam ever seriously believed that one day the pros and antis and fence-sitters would all come together in one great crusade. She would have known better, since Day One. I can only think it's part of a bigger picture with Sargeants and MCF. A kind of cleansing is going on. The one place where it has been made clear is MCF, where kazlux returned after two years doing "other things", and decreed that "this isn't supposed to be a place for you lot to hang out". Meaning, a few harmless and amiable chatterers. Only those of the one true faith were made welcome. (Consequently, they are apparently down to about four people there now).
Pre-2012, no doubt. No dissenting voices wanted.
But quite where that leaves Sargeants, which was clearly staffed by big butch NCOs with large 'taches and even larger tattoos, and pamalam, who may not have had 'tache or tattoo at all - I don't know.
